Donna the Vixen
Carl had decided to get a better view of his kingdom. He sat atop the highest shelf, gently swinging his legs as he looked down, beak curved in a grin as he cleared his throat and spoke out to nobody. "Do you see that? Everything the light touches will one day be yours..." Ah the Lion King. It seemed suiting, didn't it? Although, it would have been more dramatic had there actually been others around to hear his superlative tones reach out to touch the heavens with its vow. Maybe Willow would stop by, or Trea. Toby wouldn't be too bad either, although he was lacking in news for them. Something new would be nice for a change...but he didn't much see that happening and instead leaned back on the shelf and stared up at the cieling.

FallenMercury Kai gripped Pip tightly, pushing the door to the shop open. She had been visiting often, learning more and more about the world that her coyote had come from, and soon it had become a home away from home for her. The girl had grown accustomed to the velvets that hung out here, the ones who had already sprung to life, and considered them friends. Hopefully Pip would change soon, despite the fact she still wouldn't be able to talk.
Glancing around, her eyes fell on the feathered velvet perched atop the bookshelf. With a grin, she waved a hand. She didn't recognize him, but it was always exciting to meet new people. "Hey," she called out, brushing a strand of hair out of her face.

Donna the Vixen Well that was new! Such an unfamiliar voice, and as he looked down, an unfamiliar face. A chance! A new chance! He nearly bristled in excitement as he pushed jimself up and gave a charming smile, placing a hand on his chest with dramatic flair all over the place. "Hello...what brings you to my shop? Perhaps a guardian come to behold what goes on in this place?" It surely seemed that way, for it wasn't hard to miss the oddly colored Velvet. Ah a Velvet...he hadn't seen one that young in a long time. He could leave his mark on this one, and forever be enshrined in its memories - if he played his cards right.

With a smile, she nodded. "Yeah, a guardian. This is Pipit." She motioned to the coyote in her arms before adding, "I'm guessing you're a velvet, too, right?" His small stature led her to believe such.
"Oh, sorry! My name is Kai," she said quickly, realizing she hadn't introduced herself.

"Indeed...I am the King of Velvets. Soveirgn of the Shop you could say...and it's a pleasure to meet you, Kai. My name is Carl Arnaud Boaz Austin. But you can call me Carl."
From the bookshelf he climbed down, making his descent as gracefull as he could while showing off his superb body strength. Let her see Sid try that!

King of the velvets?
Kai blinked but shrugged it off. "Nice to meet you, Carl. So, are you..."
She was cut off as Pip started trembling, dislodging herself from her arms. Once she hit the floor, her form contorted, limbs lengthening, fur growing, life spreading through her body... and when it was over, a small coyote sat there, looking between the two-leggeds quietly before hurrying and hiding behind Kai's legs.
"Gods," she said breathlessly. Had that really just happened?

Oh goodness! Carl rushed over to see the newly living creature, but found it behind its parents legs before he could quite make it. However, he pushed the matter no further as he was sure the animal was somewhat frightened and dissoriented for all of what had just occurred. He took a step back and bowed again, his grin only widening over his handsome features as he adressed the coyote. "Welcome to the world of the living. We hadn't expected you so soon...are you alright?"
Not that the girl could talk, but he was sure the physical language would be enough to catch onto what was meant. Although - the owner certainly must be wondering what was going on and she could talk, so it was only fair to make her feel included as well. He looked up into Kais' features. "Congratulations, and Thanks. Now I can proudly say I was here to see her first steps, eh?"

"Wow," Kai whispered, looking at the little coyote crouching behind her. "Shh, shh, it's okay, Pip."
She kneeled down and offered her hand. Pip eyed her nervously but leaned forward, sniffing tentatively. Once she had confirmed that this was, indeed, her guardian, she loosened up a little bit, nibbling on Kai's finger.
"You sure can!" Kai said to Carl, though she didn't look away from her coyote. "Poor thing, she seems so afraid. I wonder why?" She could guess, of course, but that wasn't something she wanted to bring up with Carl.

"Probably her nature. We all have one, just like any human ever would, so perhaps the girl is just a bit shy or anxious? Easily enough overcome with time and patience." Not that he was going to try and change her. Oh no - he'd seen how ugly THAT could turn out in soap operas and manga.
Ohhhh yes. He'd studied females quite a bit, so it only boosted his already flourishing confidence with the matter.
He kept his distance from the new animal, but adressed her again. "Pip, that's a beautiful name. How did you come on it?"
