It was a lovely afternoon in the forest. The sun was high in the sky but the freshly grown leaves on the trees gave her shade to walk through so the sun wasn't so bright. Agi was somewhere out there; probably lying comfortably in a patch of bright warmth while she hid from it, wishing that night would come sooner.
She came across a little stream, hopping into it to splash the water around her hooves. She enjoyed playing in the water. It was cooler than the shade and, if she listened carefully, it almost seemed as if the water was talking to her. Its words were alot different than any other words she had heard before... More like a song. A beautiful song that she didn't know how to sing.
Sighing softly she remained wading in the water, watching it babble past her ankles with a dreamy look upon her face.

Kileyo had managed to trounce away from his father who had been left in charge of him and Sai once more while Fortune went off on her own to satisfy her wanderlust. Kil always begged to go with her but he was always told the same thing: He was too young.
Too young! He'd show her! So when Safi was busy with his elder sister he had slipped off and made his way, following a nearby stream on his own adventures.
The mare that was in the water caused the foal to freeze, however, and he simply stared. She looked so different from the other mares he knew - which, admittedly, was limited to five adults and his filly sister.
"You have a mask like Mardi!" Kileyo said with a grin after a long moment, "Though hers is more colorful. And...fancier." He was a LITTLE bit larger than a young foal - but he definitely wasn't a fully grown stallion yet, either, so his bouncing around certainly didn't seem as much out of place as it could have.

He was a little bit larger than a foal and she? she was a little bit smaller than a mare. At least, smaller than the other mares that she knew of save for her sister who was about her size. She had never questioned her petite stature. If anything, she was quite pleased with it. It meant that she could duck under lower branches and hide in smaller thickets.
It meant that she was better at 'come find me' than the others because she was always harder to find!
As he spoke her brow furrowed slightly, ears tilting towards him as they took in his speech, ignoring most of it when she saw his smile. She easily matched his bright grin with one of her own. She didn't know who 'Mardi' was or what this 'mask' that he was speaking about was... But he seemed to be in a good mood about it, at least.

Why was she just smiling? Wasn't it customary to return greetings or speech when someone was talking? Kileyo took a few steps forward, "Urm...Hi. I'm Kileyo! Who're you? And your mask really does look neat...." A pause. "And you have a pretty smile?"
Why wasn't she TALKING?

This winged one spoke a mile a minute! He was very much like her sister in that aspect... So perhaps speaking to him would be no different than that. She could at least try.
"Guli." She continued to grin after stating her name in response to his. There. That hadn't been so hard. Just responding to a question... And now that she'd done that she could stretch her neck out to inspect his wings. "Bird?"

"Well! Nice ta meetcha, Guli! I'm Kileyo. No, I'm not a bird. Uh..I'm an..." Why could he never remember that darned word? A..
He frowned a moment, canted his head to the side, and stared up at the sky before he finally remembered. "Alicorn! That's it. Can't fly yet, though. Papa promised to teach me though."
When, he had no idea, but Safi wouldn't lie to him.

Her brow furrowed slightly as she mulled over the word for a moment in her mind before attempting to mimic it. "Ali--corn?" Her brow furrowed slightly, head cocking to the side as she continued to stare at the energetic one that didn't seem all that much smaller than she was.
"Kileyo-bird." She nodded after a moment, smiling quite proudly at herself for figuring that one out. "O-si-yo!" That was what Tsisqua and Ayatas said when greeting one another. Perhaps that was what she was supposed to say as well.

Well, he'd never been called bird and it seemed that Guli was going to insist upon it. The foal simply accepted it. After all there was really nothing to argue about. Birds had wings, right?
"O-si-yo!" He knew that word - his papa's two legger said that sometimes, didn't she? Of course he had absolutely no idea what it meant. Mentally, he made a note to ask his papa.
He stood there for a moment, not knowing what to do. It didn't take long for an idea to pop in his mind, though, and he jumped forward, tagging her with his nose, "TAG! You're it!"
And there he went, racing off.

Her eyes went wide as his nose touched her. She didn't understand the word 'tag'... But he had touched her before running off. Did that mean he wanted to pay 'catch me'?
That had to be it! She reared up in the water, splashing droplets everywhere before bolting after the other, giggling with delight. He was fast. Alot faster than she was used to and, for a moment, she wasn't sure that she would be able to catch up with him... Then she started gaining ground until she was able to nudge his flank with the tip of her nose.
"Catch me!" She laughed as she whirled around quickly, loosing track of her footing on some fallen leaves before skittering back towards the stream.

Kileyo was on the top of the world! She couldn't catch him! He was - Oh. Crap. That was her nose, wasn't it? His ego could almost be heard deflating as he turned around quickly, almost losing his footing as well before a burst of speed was given and he tried to catch her in return.
It took a few minutes before he managed to, tugging playfully on her tail before jetting off again, "TAG!"

She let out an almost indignant squeek as her tail was pulled, skidding to a nearly complete halt as she turned her head to inspect the possible damage. There wasn't any, of course... And, even if there had been, her tail was far too short for it to be noticed anyways.
"Kileyo-bird!" She called after him as she turned around, having lost sight of him durring her pause. Now it was no longer 'catch me'... The came had become 'find me'... She was far better at the former than the latter.

Well, Kileyo was completely oblivious to the fact that Guli had lost him and continued to run until he looked behind him and, in that moment, ran smack into a tree with a loud thud and an oof.
...That hadn't been pleasant. Now on his rear and with an aching shoulder, Kileyo resisted the urge to cry. Boys didn't cry! Nevermind the fact that he was a foal. Foals were able to cry - but he was a boy foal....
Ah. Screw it. He let out a wail.

She paused and she waited, listening to see if he would make a noise while racing through the woods ahead of her. For a moment she thought she heard something... A branch break, perhaps? Or maybe a...
Cry! Oh no! She heard that and she went racing through the woods, knowing well that crying was not a good thing at all. She had done it once or twice herself after doing silly things like tripping over logs and running into trees. She skidded to a halt not far from the foal, leaning down to give him a gentle nudge. "Kileyo-bird?"

She was met with a very unhappy colt who was bawling his little eyes out - a bruise was forming on his delicate white coat as well from where he had smacked into a tree. It was just lucky he wasn't going TOO fast or it could have been a lot worse. Of course, to Kileyo the injury was bad enough to warrant tears.
"It huuuuuuuurts!" Yep. Another wail. He could forget what was 'proper' to do for now.

Oh no! He was still crying. What had Tsisqua done whenever she or Agi had hurt themselves? She thought hard, searching her mind. He had... Oh! He had gotten a cloth with cool water... But she couldn't do that. She lacked hands to hold the cloth and fingers to wring it out with.
Brow furrowing she leaned down, gently touching her nose to his as if that would somehow make everything alright. She couldn't fix him because, unlike the others from her teepees, she didn't know how... But she could at least try to distract him into thinking that it didn't hurt as badly.
"Shhh." She murmured softly, not knowing words to calm him. Agi was the one who knew words and she wasn't anywhere nearby. "Kileyo-bird follow?" If she couldn't help him she could at least lead him to someone who could.
