Kimaria The she-wolf moved out from the hollow in the ground and stretched her lithe body. It had been ten moons since she had arrived here and it seemed that the blizzard had been winter's last attempt at angering Spring.
Yet now the grass was here, fresh and green under the glittering sunshine. A few meters ahead the ground flattened out and dipped, down into the bank of a stream. It wound around the trees and banked off between a cut in the rock.
She stood then and raised her head, inhaling deeply as she tried to figure out who was near by. Perhaps she would see Phib again, or maybe another of the males in her packlands. In fact she was in the mood for flirting with any male right now - except her brother of course.
She smiled fondly at thoughts of her little brother and found herself feeling extremely happy that she had found him again. It was like she had been given a new chance.
Miracles do happen. She whispered, before trotting off through the trees, moving as loudly as possible so as to attract attention. dbz2004
It had been over a month since he had any contact with another wolf, yet, surprisingly, this bothered Yasuo. Before he met Orphen he had lived his life avoiding other wolves, yet after she walked into his life everything changed. He craved for more wolf contact as each day passed and each time no wolf would appear. He had started wandering again, finally ending up on the edge of a pack land-The Outriders. He had paced along the border, wondering if he should enter or not. He didn't know the hierarchy system in this pack since he had been in only one in his entire life.
He had gotten up before the sun had risen above the mountain top and began his daily ritual of pacing along the border again. Surely another wolf was bound to come to him today to invite him inside the strange new pack lands. He wanted someone to notice him, yet his bitter temper prevented him from calling out to someone nearby. He had learned not to trust any other wolf, yet he wanted to trust someone and have someone trust him back.
Deep in his mind, he knew he wouldn’t see the femme again, but deep in his heart he knew that he would someday meet up with Orphen again. He knew that if he didn’t search for her she would someday find him or vice versa. Flicking an ear, he heard the familiar sound of paws heading in his direction. He pricked his ears up slightly, but instead of relaxing his body, he tensed it up. His tail rose up slightly high; he lowered his head down, but didn’t growl. He didn’t want to fight the wolf that was approaching him, but he was curious of the wolf. Was it a friend or a foe-a male or a female? He would know his answer shortly.
Kimaria As she rounded the corner and appeared from the greenery she paused and scented the air, head raised and nostrils flared wide. Someone was here. Someone was near. Her heart fluttered but she pushed it away and gave a light call, the bark just loud enough to reach the wolf's ears.
Then checking to make sure she maintained her lady-like appearance she trotted elegantly onwards, pushing her way through the undergrowth.
A long, sleek nose came first and then her two brilliant golden eyes.Yasuo! She breathed, trotting towards him with a flirtacious look in her eye. Couldn't stay away, hm? She smiled, and despite her greeting it was obvious she was glad to see him.
Who knows, maybe one day she might allow him to see her true self, rather than this disguise she wore to earn a little affection. dbz2004
Yasuo caught the scent of a femme and he gazed around with his two-toned eyes, trying to see where the scent was coming from. He heard a light bark from behind an undergrowth before he spotted a muzzle push past the leaves and branches. He tensed his body up as he prepared to dart away if he needed to, but when he saw the eyes of the femme, he froze in place, recognizing the face of the femme.
'Orphen,' he thought to himself. 'How did she get here?' He didn't know that the femme had a pack to go home to. He figured that she was packless like he was. After what happened to him in his old pack he had avoided joining one until he meet Orphen. Seeing a flirtatious look in her eye, he smirked slightly. Bobbing his head down low towards her, he lowered his tail down near his hindquarters, showing her respect and that she held power over him.
Kimaria Her heart gave a little flip and softly she drew towards him, her scarred muzzle rising to meet his own nose. She snuffled gently and gave him a small lick on the end of her snout.
Well now, what do we have here? She rounded on him, glancing at his fur that shone in the sunlight. She raised her tail and turned her golden eyes towards him. She had only just recently joined this pack, but whether she would stay here for long was anyone's guess. She had a way of falling out with other wolves due to her flirtacious and somewhat hyperactive nature.
Such a handsome male! She drew closer again and nipped at playfully at the air. Hello Yasuo! I didn't think I'd see you so close to pack borders. Though it was clear she was glad to see the male.Maybe now she'd get some attention!

Yasuo held his ground as the tiny femme drew closer to him. The smirk widened across his maw as he felt a tiny lick from Orphen. He lifted a paw up as to take a step back, but instead of doing that he took a step forward to get a little closer to the femme.
Hearing her question, he realized that she noticed his lowered tail. He raised it a hair, but kept it down low. He had softened slightly due to his first encounter with Orphen and it looked like he was going to soften a bit more. Shaking his head slightly, he lifted his tail up a few inches to show that he hadn't softened his personality.
Feeling teeth snapping shut next to his body, he held back a shudder. Him handsome? He thought himself as being ugly and unwanted. He let his gaze follow the femme slowly as he listened to her comment carefully. "I was just in the area. I didn't really expect to bump into you again, though I am not really surprised that I did." He leaned his body forward and gently sniffed the air around Orphen. Her sweet smell engulfed his senses, making him smirk a bit wider. He was having fun 'teasing' the femme, despite him not knowing that he was teasing her.

Oh, indeed? She replied, Well I'm glad you came here, I'vebeen craving some company and this pack is too large for my liking. She wrinkled her nose a little. Plus, all the males here seem hooked up and they're no fun to play with. She beamed at him cheerfully, ears pinned forwards.
Her eyes sparkled with great joy at seeing him again and she hoped that he had lighytened his mood since the last time they had met. For since they had parted she could not get him out of her head. He was intoxicating!
She rubbed her face against his shoulder, in an almost daring fashion, to test his patience with affection.
So my dear, shall we accept this meeting as some sort of message that we should spend some time together? She nudged at him gently and then made to pounce on him, the urge to playfight overwhelming.

Yasuo's smirk widened when he heard that she was glad that he came to the edge of the packlands. He expected many or all of the males in any packlands to be hooked up with mates. It seemed like males found their mates outside of the packs and then joined a pack so that they could raise their pups under the protection of the other wolves. Yasuo didn't see why parents needed to protect their pups if they were going to go out into the wilderness anyways.
Feeling something brush against his shoulder, he glanced down to see Orphen rubbing her face against him. A glint of evil gleamed in his eye and he carefully lowered his muzzle against her ear and licked it tenderly. He had never been so sentimental towards another femme before, so he was new to this.
Hearing her question, he canted his head to one side as he felt her nudge him again. He opened his maw to answer her when he saw her pounce him. Knowing that he was bigger than her, he didn't want to hurt her, so he flopped down on the ground, pretending that he had knocked him over. Chuckling deep in his throat, he nuzzled her neck gently and let one foreleg dangle over the femme's back. "Maybe we should," he said in a hoarse voice.

She was a flirt.
She knew it and Yasuo knew it, but somehow this male brought out something else in her.
With other males her flirtation was simply a way to try and make herself feel wanted and loved, but with this male it was different. She was almost desperate to be with him, wanting to be with him because of who he was. True she didn't know much about him but they both had hurts in their past and that connection drew her in.
She laughed as he fell, knowing full well that he could easily overpower her. It was that thought alone that sent an excited shudder down her spine. He was a large and handsome male and she? She was a wolfess who didn't deserve his love, or so she believed. Yet no matter how much she told herself she was not worthy of him, she suddenly craved to be his mate.
To have him walking alongside her, to follow in his pawprints and protect one another, and love one another. She looked into his eyes and saw a future. Their future.
Her heart thudded and suddenly she felt shy, for possibly the first time in her life.
She lowered herself to lay down beside him, her forepaws and head coming to rest over his side. His scent filled her nostrils and she turned to gaze at him out of the corner of her eyes.
Yasuo... His name was breathed like the gentle sigh of the wind. I have flirted with many a male in my time and every single time he has growled at me, laughed at me or played my own game against me. So why don't you do the same? Her ears folded back sadly, I have made many a mistake in my life. Many, many mistakes. She turned away, almost ashamed.

Feeling the femme lay down next to him, he slowly rolled over onto his belly and gazed at the femme. He hadn't been this close to another wolf since the last time he met Orphen. Maybe it was time for him to change into a better wolf, yet he didn't know how. He knew he must change in order to survive. He had been doing his own thing for many years, yet it didn't help the old scars of his past go away. It seemed like he was going in circles wherever he went to, not escaping anything of his old life at all. That was until he met Orphen.
Hearing Orphen speak, he turned his full attention to her. Her words confused him slightly and made him feel slightly odd. Why would she say such things to him now? He thumped his tail against the ground and sighed heavily. "Everyone has had mistakes in the past. I know I have. My mother was considered a whore in my father's eyes just because he seduced her and gave birth to me and my dead siblings. I was considered to be a b*****d of a whore because my mother protected me from the jaws of that b***h my father considered to be a mate."
He closed his eyes slightly and let his body relax slightly next to the femme. "My half-brother treated me like a servant and a bodyguard everytime I went out with him and his little friends. It wasn't like I had a choice. I was forced to go with my half-brother everytime he wandered away from my father. I couldn't escape that life until my father kicked me out for being too old to be 'coodled' by him. It wasn't like I was treated with kindness."
He opened one eye and gazed at the femme. "And to answer your question about why I am not like the other males-it is because I never really have romanced before nor do I like to disrespect femme because they flirt with me or do anything romantic-like. I treat femmes with respect and kindness that they deserve." He chuckled under his breath. "I bet you are thinking that you don't deserve my kindness, but you are going to get it anyways. That is my way of life. I don't want to turn out to be like my father and whore up any femme that goes into heat, even if she is a loner or an Omega of his pack." He canted his head to one side, wondering if Orphen understood his words.

She listened to him with her ears rigid and in his face she saw kindness, in his face she saw hope for a better future. She sighed and nosed at his fur softly. Your father will never realise how lucky he was to have such a wonderful son. She smiled gently, And to think it was his harsh ways that created a gentleman of you. She stood and shook her fur, stepping forth to glance up into the canopy.
Yasuo, do you ever think that somewhere out there lays a greater destiny? She turned to him and smiled. I've spent my whole life pretending I'm someone I'm not so that I don't have to spend my life alone but I can't help but think there is more to life.
Her ears drooped again as she thought of her son, the son she had abandoned. What if Yasuo discovered she was just as bad as his father, getting rid of a child, a child she should love. She shook her head to rid herself of the guilt and turned back to the male. Fluke was okay, he'd probably found some pack and was settling down to a nice comfortable life of his own somewhere.
Yasuo... It seemed she was fond of saying his name. Would you mind if I joined you? There is no place her for me in this pack, except my brother, but I don't know him anymore. Not really. She smiled. I mean, we could both do with the company right? And I'm tired...tired of putting on an act all the time in front of others.

Yasuo's turned an ear in the femme's direction as he listened to her speak. Despite him being kind to femmes, he had avoided many of his own kin for many months, often running away if he did come into contact with another wolf. He felt like a coward most of the time, but the only time which he stayed to chat with a wolf was when it was a femme, though the conversations never got past the introductions before he fled from the femme, leaving her puzzled and scared. "My father really never took notice to anything that I did unless it involced my half-brother, which I usually got the blame pinned on." He shuddered slightly at the old memories of the many beatings he got for his brother's mischief and he pushed them back to the back of his mind.
It was then that he heard Orphen's question about a greater destiny. He canted his head to one side as he let his two-toned eyes rest upon the femme's form, wondering if there was a greater destiny. "Maybe there is. Maybe there is someone up in another dimension watching us, waiting for us to do something that will over-achieve their goals for what we have to do in life to go to their world." He thumped his tail against the ground, wondering what he had said was the right thing to say.
He lowered his head down slightly as he heard her ask if she could join him. That shocked his slightly. No wolf had ever asked him if they could join him in wandering. He had always assumed that many wolves didn't want to join a loner like himself in his quest to roam around the lands. He smiled slightly at her, happy that she wanted to spend more time with him. He nuzzled her neck gently as he whispered under his breath "that would make me a very happy wolf if you were to travel with me."

Orphen nodded and leaned against his nuzzle. Suddenly she felt very at peace and the need to flirt with him was gone, not because she felt less attracted to him but because she was attracted to him. She blinked her golden eyes then and drew away hesitantly, turning to buffet her head against his shoulder, playfully.
I think our destinies are intertwined. Don't you Yasuo? That day I met you I knew there was something different about you. It was like there was a little voice in my heart telling me not to let you go, but I did anyway. Her tail wagged gently as she spoke. Both of us have had troubled pasts, you more than me. Perhaps with each other's help we can heal the wounds and look to the future. Then she swept her muzzle out across the forest and drew in a deep breath. Out there lay her future, a destiny that only she could grasp. She and Yasuo alone. Then she gave a small yip of joy and turned her eyes fondly upon the pale wolf. He looked suddenly beautiful and mysterious and there as an innocence in his eyes that sent her heart racing.
She smiled. Then lets go now. Lets get away from this place! Her thoughts turned briefly to her brother and she realised then that she should probably tell him that she was leaving. The poor wolf had already had enough heart-ache to last him a life time. Do you have anywhere in mind? Or are we just going to go where we desire?

Yasuo felt her draw away from him before he felt her head bump into his shoulder. He was slightly confused at her actions, but he didn't dare bring them to her attention. He knew that she was having a little fun with him and he was content with that.
Hearing her speak, he turned his gaze and attention on her. Canting his head to one side, he nodded his head slightly. "Fate has brough us together for a reason, though I have no idea why or for what reasons. Maybe it might be because of our troubled pasts and how much alike we are and have become." It was becoming clearer to him why Fate had chosen for him to live and for him to somehow bump into this loveley maiden. Somehow he knew that they were meant to meet from the day they were born.
Hearing her say that they should go now, he flicked an ear. He didn't know what to think of it until he heard her ask if he had anywhere in mind that they should go. He shook his head slightly as he chuckled under his breath. "Let's just go where our paws are willing to take us. Or let's follow the wind. That's what I used to do until recently, right before I meet you for the first time.

She nodded, satisfied with the answer and swung her body around to stand beside him. Her paws were square on the ground, her head raised and ears perked forwards. She was ready to journey with her new companion at her side.
Only time would tell how quickly this flirtacious relationship would grow into something more. For now, however, Orphen was rather content at waitring to see what had happened. This was her new beginning, her new chance and she was not going to ruin it by flinging herself desperately at this new male. Yes he was handsome, yes he seemed interested but that did not mean she was going to try and lure him into her waiting clutches like some mythical siren.
For now she was going to enjoy the soft nuzzles of almost timid affection, for though she acted experienced such gentleness was almost unknown to Orphen.
She smiled then. Very well Yasuo. I shall call to my brother and let him know of my leaving but after my call we must leave. He will come as quickly as he can and he will try to stop me. She laughed. And Shorty always did have a way of getting me to do what he wanted, being small and cute and all. She would miss her brother, and her nephew, but wolves naturally left one another when they became old enough. They knew each other were alive and well. That was all they needed now.
Then she leaned in and whispered in his ear; We will run free and far amnd we shan't stop until our souls lighten and our path is truly set beneath our paws.

Yasuo smirked at her last comment. He gazed at her for a few seconds before slowly starting to walk in the direction he came in. "Well, then, my sweet maiden, we should do what our hearts and paws tell us to do and roam around these wild, unexplored areas of these lands."
And with that, he picked up his pace to a slow run, not wanting to waste anytime in the packlands. He knew that with Orphen by his side, the world would be a simplier place to live in, despite his harsh past.
