It had been a few days since Alora had run off during the confrontation with that pompous winged mare. Cadaver felt a bit abandoned, angry, frustrated, everything someone who had been left to their own after such trust and bonding had taken place. The hot tempered flutter mare had dug her way into gaining his respect. They were partners in crime, they were. And yet she had just...run off.

The days seemed to drag on and eventually Cadaver had lost track of exactly how many days had gone by. He hadn't traveled much as he wallowed in his own thoughts. Though traveling by himself was a bit difficult, he'd never admit to needing help. He could care for himself and didn't need a nurse maid to whipe his nose.

After a while, he had found himself on the edge of a meadow. A large tree loomed quietly on the edge and there he had lain for hours. Barely moving. Milky white eyes staring thoughtfully out into the open space. Many Soquili had passed by but none payed him any mind. That was fine. He wasn't up for much company anyway.

Today was any ordinary day for the tiny, shy mare. She usually shuffled away from most of the stallions that came in contact with her, but the mares and some foals she met she usually stuck around to talk to. It was something about the stallions that made her shy away from them. The first Soquili she had talked to after she had wandered into the meadow was a stallion. He had opened her heart and mind to the whole world of her kin and made her realize how shy she really was. She was still shy, but not as much as before. Before she met Apple-oosa, she had shunned her kin away, but now she craved more attention. Today she just wanted to be alone.

She glanced back at the small village her new human resided in. She wanted to go to him, but the odds of him being out hunting were very great during this hour of the day. She glanced up at the sky to see the sun hanging high in the sky. Shaking her head, she began to wander farther and farther away from the village until she was near the forest. She would have wandered into the forest if she hadn't spotted something gray near the edge of it. She stopped in her tracks as she gazed upon the motionless Soquili. She could tell that it was a stallion and she immediately started to take a few steps back until she spotted him gazing around the area. 'What if he spotted me already,' she thought to herself. Shaking slightly, she lowered her head down slightly, wondering why a stallion that handsome was doing in a place like this. She immediately thought herself not worthy of being in his presence due to the beauty of his coat. Shuffling her hooves on the ground, she waited patiently to see if he had spotted her or not.

Unlike the mass majority of Soquili, Cadaver did not see the same way as them. If something was ugly or beautiful it might have moved some other stallion, but not this one. No. All he saw were the colors of the soul. The aura of each indevidual he had met. Some confused him and some he could read quite well.

The faint sound of shuffling hooves had caught his attention and his ears swivled towards the sound his head following shortly after. Not too far off in the distance he saw the faint glow indicating that someone was coming near. Nothing new really. Many had passed by earlier it seemed. Probably just another passer by.

His eyes lidded half way and his braided tail flicked untill it wrapped itself around his rump like a long, thick arm.

Midnight saw that the stallion had spotted her and she began to paw at the ground. She didn't know that he couldn't 'see' her or else she would have backed up and wandered towards the village to find her human. Instead, she stared at the stallion's pale eyes, wondering why they looked like that. Normally she would shy away from a stallion, but he caught her interest slightly. Wanting to see more of him, she slowly began to approach him, yet she still kept her distance away from him. She still didn't know him at all or what his temper was like.

Stopping less than a quarter mile away from the other Soquili, she stared at Cadaver, her face expressionless. She didn't want to show any fear to the other Soquili, yet her eyes held a little bit of shyness. It was habit for her to show her emotions through her eyes and she didn't know how to break that habit. Pawing the ground lightly, she lowered her head down again as she began to flick her tail back and forth slowly, not saying anything to the gray stallion in front of her.

Cadaver gave a small mental sigh as it seemed the Soquili in question wasn't moving on like the rest. Possibly it was staring at him. But he was used to that. Many Soquili seemed to stare for one reason or the other.

Shrugging it off, he turned his gaze away from her and quickly clambered to his hooves. A quick shake of his entire body sent dirt and leaves flying away. His tail gave a few brushes against his back legs to finish cleaning off any dirty or leaves that had decided to cling.

He stretched out his legs and glanced back in the direction the other Soquili was still wandering about in. If she was going to come up and pester him she might as well do it now and get it over with. The stallion felt the urge to move on quickly but lingered for a moment. Ears twitched which sent his single skull feather fluttering against the side of his head.

Midnight backed up a few steps as she watched the stallion clamber to his hooves, sending the dirt and leaves that had collected on his pelt flying in the air. Despite the leaves not coming towards her, she still winced as though something had struck her. She didn't want to bother the other Soquili, but her curiousity had gotten the best of her this time. Lowering her head down a little bit more, she stopped pawing at the ground and she took the few timid steps forward.

She saw him glance in her direction again, seeing the flick on his ear. Sensing that she might have bothered him, she blushed faintly on her cheeks. "Sorry, sir, but I was interested in as to why you are out here all alone. I didn't mean to bother you. It was just that you looked to be lonely," she said in a soft voice. Her shyness was taking over her senses, which she hated. She didn't like to be shy, yet it was in her nature to be shy.

Lifting her forehoof to paw the ground again, she stopped herself just in time and she gently placed her hoof back on the ground. Surely the stallion would have told her she was bothing him, right? She didn't know if she was correct about that. She knew many Soquili didn't want or think it was polite to tell her that she was bothering them. She patiently waited for the stallion to say something to her statements.

By now his body had turned to face her. The white bone markings on his chest standing out against his dark grey body. The voice was femanine, another mare it seemed. And a fairly timid one at that. Much unlike some others he had met, but to each their own he supposed.

"Just wandering. Not everyone is herd material." His answer was straight and to the point. No need for long explinations. He could just be out here doing what he wanted without being questioned right? "Perhaps I am. I don't know. Not much makes sense as of late anyway...."

It was true though. Nothing of anything made much sense. He just felt like wandering through the days in a haze.

Midnight nodded her head as she heard the stallion speak. She knew not all Soquili were herd material, but she didn't mean for her statement to sound like she expected him to be of herd material. She shuffled her hooves slightly as she turned her gaze down towards the ground. "Sorry," she muttered quietly under her breath. She wasn't herd material when she met her new human and she still wasn't, yet she was managing to stick with the small herd she had grown accustomed to seeing everyday for her human's sake.

Hearing the stallion's next words, she lifted her gaze up to see him again, the blush on her cheeks fading away. She didn't know what to say for a few seconds. She hadn't know anyone else to be lonely like she had been. "Nothing makes sense?" She canted her head to one side. He sounded almost like she had before she met Apple-oosa. "If you don't want to be bothered then I will take my leave. But I don't want to see any one else lonely like I have been in the past." She turned her gaze back on the ground, the blush forming on her cheeks again. She wanted to stay with the stallion to keep him from being lonely, yet at the same time she didn't know what else she wanted to do.

"Heh. So, are you one of those mares that apologizes for nothing?" Cadaver eyed her aura carefully. Though he was a bit tired to sit there an analize anything that he saw. What he said might have been a bit rude, but that was just his gruff nature coming through. His temper had calmed down a bit over the past few months, yet he was still irritable sometimes.

Lowering his head slightly, his chin nearly touched his chest. He closed his eyes for a moment and let out a breathy laugh. "Never mind. It's nothing really, just somethings happened recently that don't make sense and have left me feeling like a fool..." Cadaver stretched out his neck before opening his eyes and glancing at her out of the corner of one. "If you feel the need to stay then stay. Doesn't matter to me really. Soquili come and go all the time, it's nothing different and nothing I'm not used to."

Midnight heard the stallion's question, yet she chose not to answer it. She didn't know how to answer a question like that. Sure, she did say sorry for a lot of things that she may have said or done, but she was never questioned about that until now. She slowly shook her head slightly, not wanting to believe that she was one of those mares who apologized for nothing at all. She didn't think that she was like that until now.

Hearing his breathy laugh, she winced slightly, wondering if she had said something bad. Hearing his next words she winced again. 'Something that happened recently?' she pondered to herself. "why would you think you are a fool? Many Soquili do stuff that they didn't want to do. That is life." She started to take a step towards him when she heard his next words. 'How many Soquili have passed by this stallion and not payed attention to him? It seems like too many have,' she thought to herself before shaking her head. "You seem too lonely to be left by yourself. Maybe I can stay for a little while longer and keep you company?" She smiled slightly at him, wondering if he even wanted her company.

Cadaver raised an eyebrow as he saw that his question had gone unanswered. But then again, such a question like that was more rehtorical than an actual question that needed answering. So he shrugged it of.

"You don't understand. It was something I was wanting to do, but....I suppose I've just lost faith in someone. It's a sad thing when you can't even think of someone in the same way again." His braided tail gave a few idle flicks back and forth as he adjusted his bulky weight so that he was more comfortable when standing. "If you wish. But don't stay on my accord."

Midnight blinked a few times as she listened to the stallion answer her question. It was odd to hear someone else loose faith in someone else. she, too, had lost faith in someone, but it wasn't another Nequus-it was her old owner. She had lost all hope and faith of finding her old owner again. She even pondered what life would be like if she hadn't met her old owner. Shaking her head, she lowered it close to the ground, now having nothing else to say. Instead of leaving the stallion, though, she decided to stay. She wanted to see what his reaction was to her silence.

Glancing at the mare again for a second, his gaze then turned to the darkness infront of him. His tail flicked idly again as he pawed at the ground lightly before lowering his head to take a few nips at the grass near his hooves.

The silence was killing him. He didn't mind it when no one else was around but when others were near it always gave him the thought that perhaps they were schemeing or thinking strange thoughts about him. Prying at his oddities. Lifting his head quickly, his eyes lidded half way. "You might as well tell me your name since it seems like you're going to be hanging around for a while."

Midnight Shadow winced slightly as she realized that he wasn't liking the silence between them. Scuffing a hoof on the ground, a blush appeared on her cheeks. "Midnight Shadow," she said in a soft voice. She just didn't know what to say to him. It was clear that he didn't want to talk to her.

Sighing, she took a few steps backwards, just in case the stallion lashed out at her. She opened her maw to apologize, but then stopped herself. "And yours is?" she asked him curiously.
