 Stop focusing on filling your gut and keep searching.
Let it go. You're not hungry and you know it. The poor thing doesn't need to die this day.
Kill it! There are thousands in the damned forest. The loss of one will only benefit you anyway, since you're so focused on finding a worthless mate.
"Shut up," the loner hissed, pressing her paw down harder on the neck of the squirming rabbit, saliva dripping from her jaws. "How many times do I have to tell you, I'm not searching for a mate."
Like a striking snake, her muzzle shot forward, razor teeth tearing at the rabbit's throat. Blood coated her muzzle, staining her white spots crimson. As she ripped off hunks of flesh, she continued, "I'm searching for that stupid little mutt that killed my mother."
He didn't kill your mother. She killed herself, Moirai.
She almost killed your brother, not the other way around.
They were both weak, but what does it show of your mother that a near-starved pup has outlived her?
Snarling, the female licked the blood and fur from her jowls and padded away, leaving the broken carcass behind. Her eyes swirling eerily, as if something lurked in their cerulean depths, the female disappeared into the shadows. "He won't live much longer . . . "

 Trotting swiftly but leisurely through the sun kissed trees, Deimos followed a thick, musky scent that was so powerful, it hovered almost a foot above the ground.
Suddenly, a wet snuffling noise hit his ears, coming from the newly green undergrowth ahead. Slowing his pace, he crept closer, peering between the feathery leaves of a fern.
A wolverine's golden eyes stared back at him from mere inches away, its lips curled up over its teeth in a vicious snarl. The thick fur covering its body was standing completely on end, making it look almost twice as big as what it actually was. As Deimos saw it, the thing was about as big as he was.
And wolverine were renowned for their ferocity. They had been known to kill bears to protect their meals, and Deimos didn't think that those stories were exaggerated.
He stood there thinking just a second too long. Even as his muscles bunched and prepared to launch him backwards and away, the wolverine lunged more swiftly than what its bulk should have allowed. Its enormous, razor-edged teeth sank into the thick ruff of fur covering his throat; without that hair, he would have been dead before he hit the ground, his life's blood coating the newborn grasses.
As it was, only his breath was cut off, but he let out a bone chilling snarl, dropping to his side and kicking out with his powerful back legs, blunt claws digging into the creature's belly.
However, it didn't want to let go.

 (( Just for realistic purposes, I'm going to assume Alex and Dei run into each other much more often than we rp it. :3 I'm sure they would. ))
Wind whistled through the trees and the clouds covered the sun for a moment. Alexander noticed none of this as he padded through the forest. He desperately wished he could run into another wolf. The pains of loneliness hit him like ten thousand needles in the stomach. Low whine escaping the adolescent’s lips, he continued on. Alexander didn’t even want to keep his tail up at this point…
Then, he got an idea. Why not sniff out Deimos? He knew they often ended up in the same areas, which is how they even met in the first place. The navy wolf’s tail raised back to its confident and comfortable position as he lowered his snout to the dirt. Alexander tracked along silently for a while, picking up some interesting scents, but none of whom he was searching for.
After about half an hour of nothing but sniffing and trotting, Alexander was about to give up. That was when he caught it! A faint whiff of the smell he knew so well. His first real friend. Alexander’s tongue lolled out of his mouth as he quickened his pace. Wonderful! And the scent was getting stronger and stronger.
What was that? Ears and head perked up at a strange sound. A very loud, desperate growl. He wasn’t totally sure, but he had a bad feeling about this…
Blue legs carried their owner in the fastest sprint they’d ever known. He just hoped it wasn’t as bad as he thought. Finally, he reached the source of the sound. Deimos!
The smaller male had no time to think before his body had pounced upon the attacker, sinking sharp wolf fangs into its neck.

Blue fur blurred into his line of sight and he felt the wolverine tense up, its snarls of rage turning into growls of pain. The deadly teeth left his fur and his kicking legs finally sent the thing tumbling away from him. Rolling away and to his feet, the spotted male watched as his best friend fought the beast, driving it away from him. The sight made him smile warmly, and also mischievously. Laughing softly, he goaded on his dear friend.
"Come on now, Alex. You can do better than that!"
((that works for me. XD And yeah, I kind of picture them as either joined at the hip, or not far from one another for very long))

A familiar coppery taste coated the blue wolf's tongue as he teeth pierced the neck of the attacker. The wolverine fought a little, but Alexander refused to give up until Deimos was free. The wolverine must have decided he was outmatched against the duo because he shortly turned tail and scuttled back into the woods. Hackles raised an ears back, Alexander watched it go, growling until it was out of sight.
Then, he turned to his best friend and his features immediately smoothed. Tail wagged and tongue lolled out as he greeted the other wolf. Responding to the tease, Alexander said, "If I can do better, then you can do better. Next time I'll leave you be." He flicked his tail up and raised his snout in a conceded way. However, it was all a game and he soon turned back to nuzzle his fried, whom he'd missed very much.

Burying his muzzle in his friend's neck ruff, Deimos laughed. "Next time I'll be smarter and stay away from that particular smell." His tail wagging happily, the spotted wolf bounced a little, excited and happy for no reason at all. Except maybe for the fact that he had company now.
Dropping his front end, he growled low, his ice blue eyes glinting with mischief. Without warning, he lunged at his friend and the two of them went tumbling before Deimos quickly untangled himself and bounded away into the trees, calling back in a challenging tone, "Catch me if you can, pretty boy!"

The navy wolf smiled inwardly. He was so thankful Deimos was okay. Really, he was just generally thankful to see his friend again. Alexander pawed harmlessly at Deimos’ front foot. He absentmindedly wondered what their future would hold, and he softly prayed neither of them would come to a premature end. Too many others he loved had suffered that fate and he was tired of it.
Alexander watched his friend descend into the play bow, and mirrored his behavior. Before he knew it, Deimos was on him and they were wrestling. Wrestling, and tumbling – but all in good fun. Deimos seemed to unlatch himself from the wolf bundle and sprung off in another direction, taunting Alexander. The smaller teen didn’t wait for Deimos to even finish his sentence before he bolted after the other, snapping playfully at his heels.
“Oh, and just wait until I DO catch you!” Alexander yelled into the forest, not caring who heard. For once, his guard was down.

Barking madly, Deimos ran like the wind through the underbrush, his paws almost seeming to float above the ground. Tree roots and bushes were dangerous obstacles, but none of them seemed to matter as he ran, conscious of his friend's closeness.
He hadn't let go so completely in quite a while, hadn't let his puppyisms take over, but now he let them all go and just enjoyed the chase.
Suddenly, he dodged to the side, diving into an impossibly small opening between two sturdy bramble bushes. "Ha!" he called back, grinning from ear to ear. "Try and catch me now, Ander!" ~~~~~~~~~~ Her ears flicked forward, the joyous sounds of pups at play ringing like a clarion call in her skull. A wicked grin spread across her maw, and she figured that she'd have a little fun before she couldn't on her search for her brother . . .

If only Alexander had known what sort of being stumbled into earshot of their playful voices. Then, he would have quieted in an instant. However, the blue teen knew not of Moirai’s presence. Or really, he didn’t even know she existed.
Alexander’s black and blue paws carried him at breakneck speeds in hot pursuit of Deimos. Suddenly, the red ball of fur he had been so closely chasing darted out of sight and Alexander couldn’t seem to put the breaks on fast enough to follow. No matter! He would catch up.
“You cheat!” The young male yelled to his favorite companion before spinning around and following the slightly larger Deimos through his hole. After bursting to the other side, Alexander paused, ears pricked and eyes open, wondering which way the other had gone.

The forest had turned eerily silent, the birds and insects all quieting. There was an odd tension in the air that almost seemed choking, it was so thick.
Without warning, an agonized yelp pierced the silence and a flock of birds took thunderous flight, a rabbit skittering past Alexander's paws when a serious of vicious snarls came from ahead of him.

Alexander padded forward slowly, noticing the sudden silence. The woods seemed as if they would burst into flames or explode any second. Or both. He treaded as lightly as possible on the soil beneath his paws, wondering what the best way to find Deimos and scurry out of there would be. Then…
The young wolf’s heart literally stopped when the blood-curdling sounds reached him. In an instant, Alexander was running top speed toward the cries. It was faster than he’d ever run in his entire life, he was sure of it. The adolescent was hoping and praying those cries weren’t coming from what he thought they were. Yet, deep inside, his sixth sense knew. And that’s precisely why his stomach was turning knots and his heart was pounding a mile a minute…

Leave him alone, Moirai!! You will gain nothing in killing him!
Snarling savagely, the female lunged again, her teeth tearing into her brother's hide, blood spraying across the forest floor. But he was a damn fast mover, and all she had managed to do since her initial attack was merely scratching him.
Scratching? Hell, girl, you're doing a bit more than that. But if you're intent on killing him, you will have to do better than this!
Deimos kept his left hind foot well above the ground, blood dripping steadily from the fang holes in it. She had caught him completely by surprise, and he had paid for it. But who was this psychotic femme, and why was she attacking him? He had done nothing wrong! He knew for certain that this land belonged to no wolf.
"Keep away, b***h! I have done nothing to you!" he growled, ears plastered to his skull. His fangs glinted in the sun's light, his lips curled high above them as he snarled. The fur around his neck and along his back bristled, doubling his size. Yet she didn't seem to care.
Like a snake, she struck, the two of them clashing like crazed beasts, their snarls and cries echoing through the trees.
Moirai grinned cruelly even as she smacked his muzzle harshly with her own, stunning him. "Oh, but you have, boy. You were born!"

If only his damned legs could carry him faster! Panting hard at the speed, Alexander hoped he wouldn’t be too late. He could not lose another companion like this. He just couldn’t take it. Images of his mother, his brother, and even a couple of his infant sister racked his brain, urging him forward. Finally, Alexander heard a familiar voice that was just past the next tree.
Bounding into the scene, Alexander didn’t even get a chance to see what they were up against before stepping in front of Deimos, mouth wide and teeth showing. His hackles and tail were sky-high, showing his hatred for whatever this was. A female wolf? This realization didn’t even cause him to falter as he snarled threateningly toward the attacker. Alexander stood sturdy, shielding his friend. Though he was smaller than Deimos, the blue wolf was still very big for his age. On top of that, growing up alone had made him extremely fit.
“Get. Away.” Alexander snarled through his teeth, warning this new wolf.

Moirai was actually surprised, her ears cocked forward, one paw lifted off the ground. "Oho, and what do we have here? Little brother has a friend, does he? What to do, what to do . . . " Wagging her tail in excitement, the female turned and started a slow stalk around them, her crystal blue eyes almost swirling, as if something lurked beneath their cool surfaces.
Kill them both. It's not like you can't. You've already injured Deimos, and look how small the blue one is.
"Hmm, you're right. It won't take much, which is quite disappointing, but blood will still stain the earth here."
Deimos was shocked; brother? She had said brother. He . . . he had a sister? Before he could ponder it more, or the relief he felt at seeing his friend, his . . . sister . . . had lunged again, her crimson stained teeth aimed for Alexander's throat.
"Ander!"

Alexander’s mind raced. He wasn’t focused on her speech as much as he knew Deimos would be; he watched her actions. Trying to predict the female’s every move, Alexander continued showing as much teeth as his mouth would allow, a low growl constantly emanating from his throat. He wasn’t just mad, he was livid. This crazy wolf thinks she can hurt Deimos, and right in the middle of their fun, too! b***h, Alexander thought.
He moved along with her, always facing her and always standing between her and Deimos. He didn’t have time to think about words, nor did he have to desire to talk with this monster. He didn’t even know her and yet he hated her.
Suddenly, teeth were aimed at his throat and there was only a second to decide what to do. If he dodged, she might continue on to Deimos. In an instant, Alexander shifted his body so that she would land on his right shoulder instead of his neck.

Damn! she growled in her head as her teeth tore at muscle instead of jugular. Snarling, she bit down as hard as she could, but didn't get enough of a chance to do any damage before her brother was on her back, his fangs on one of her ears. Yowling, she stumbled back, the pain she felt sending rage through her.
Bucking, she threw the mutt off her pack and turned on him again, on his fallen form in an instant. But he was tougher than she had first expected, digging his claws into her gut, teeth flashing across her muzzle. Blood from them both stained the ground. "Come on, little puppy. Die already!"
Deimos fought back with everything he had, but even the wolverine hadn't been filled with as much desire to kill him as this femme was. But if she spoke true and she was his sister, why did she want to kill him?
"Why are you doing this?!" he questioned, kicking her in the skull and rolling onto his three uninjured paws. "If we are kin, why are you trying to kill me?"
