Rules:
~ No posting in this thread unless it's your test.
~ Limited to 4 posts. You can use less.
~ You have 2 weeks to finish your rp
~ Must use the battle field type assigned to you
~ You create a monster of your choice
~ Have fun!

1~Ice- Pretty simple with this one. The floor becomes solid ice. There are random chunks of ice protruding from the floor. And of course, you have little to no traction.

2~Desert- Pretty much nothing but massive sand dunes. You sink down into the sand, which slows you down a LOT. If the wind blows, the sand gets kicked up, which obscures vision.

3~Open Field- A plain grassy field with nothing on it.

4~Ocean- A mini ocean about 40 feet deep. There are five floating platforms for battlers to stand on. The plat forms bob around and it's really hard to keep your balence on them.

5~Dense Forest- The arena is packed from wall to wall with dense, tropical trees. As in any tropical jungle, there are lots of vines and other such things to get tangled up in.

6~Land of Fire- Parts of the arena floor sink away, leaving behind pits of lava. Also, pillars of fire erupt from the floor periodicly

7~Concrete- A plain concrete floor.

8~The Abyss- Near complete darkness engulfs the arena. Dark energy is abundant in this field.

9~The Sanctuary- Opposite of the Abyss. Light energy fills the arena. Its very bright!

10~No floor- The floor drops away leaving a pit filled with spikes. There are levitating platforms at varrying heights, going all the way to the top of the arena. It's hard to jump from platform to platform, and trust me, you don't want to fall.

Yuki meandered into the testing room. He had already had enough with this whole exam 'thing', but, just like last time, had little else to do. "I really need to get around to actually doing things besides sitting around on my arse." He murmured aloud. The expansive plain of grass stretched out before him, encompassing all. No trees, no cloud cover, no nothing. Just blue sky from horizon to horizon. Meaning no cover from the sun. It was just as bad as that bloody desert.

...at least there wasn't any sand here though. It took him weeks to clean out all of his crevices. He wasn't even sure how sand had gotten within his underwear. Bloody sand. Bloody blood bloody sand.

The vampire hiked his hood up, shifting the heavy material to a more comfortable position. "There better not be any bloody demonic birds, or I'm going to scream." Yuki wasn't too fond of large, evil birds at the moment. Even if it's heart had tasted pleasant, compared to the usual A+ type he "borrowed" from the campus hospital whenever he got thirsty. He really did need to variate his food source - someone could go and make their left hand explode and need blood, only to discover that he's gone and drank it all!

Either way, he was getting annoyed with these vast expanses of empty land. Really, couldn't he get a forest or something? Was that too much to ask? He settled in for a sit, making sure to keep any exposed skin underneath cover. If this was going to be a battle - and it was, it always was - the monster would find him. He couldn't be bothered to waste his energy searching. Yuki wished he had his music player - one of the mortal inventions that he truely enjoyed - but he had stupidly left it in his bag, which was, again, stupidly outside the exam room door.

"Bah." He said simply, glaring at nothing in particular.

The silence in the area was deafening. Yuki lay - on his stomach, lest the sun beat down upon his silk skin - with his eyes closed. Perhaps nothing was coming after all. He couldn't hear anything, he couldn't feel any vibrations...Nothing. It was as if he, and only he, existed in this wide, void-like area. The emptiness made him think back. Deep within. Inner reflection wasn't usually on his to-do list, but it did have its time and place, and he supposed that this was the most opportune time he'd get in a long while.

The vampire thought back, back to his family - his mother, auburn hair, all smiles in her eyes, never once scolding or withholding. His father, teaching him the trade that he would have been doing until his dying breath. His sister...his friends... All of them. Gone. In an instant to him, now, looking back. Time was a foul mistress like that. A small, bloody tear traced its way down his cheek. He didn't exactly hate his life, but he damned that man - that vile, vile man - for taking his mortality against his will. Yuki cursed his supposed good looks - that's what had gotten him 'chosen', picked out of countless millions for this 'blessing'. This "divine gift", as his master had said. A curse in God's clothing.

And, yet, here he lay, enjoying the light breeze that wafted across the grassy plain. Decades long past his death date, he simply existed. And he would continue to exist, long past everyone else. The students at Tenshi - maybe even Glissa, judging by the sheer number of enemies she obtained in her lifetime thus far - the people on this planet. The mortals, the humans - all they ever thought would be would end with them. Yet, he would live. Even Koori...she would go too. Long before him.

"Probably by your own hand." A dark voice whispered within him, stirring within the pit of his stomach. The voice he tried countlessly to kill each and every second of each and every day. The voice that taunted him, mercilessly, unendingly. Perpetually. Yuki shook his head - that's why he was keeping his distance from the young woman. He wouldn't kill her because it was physically impossible to reach her. The vampire had made sure of that. Yet...

"All she is, all she ever will be, is meat. Fresh blood. Your feast." The voice taunted. The vampire within him. The dark being. Poor Yuki was helpless to it whenever it was strong enough to utter so many words with such disdain for the subject. His crimson eyes rolled back into his head. The physical plane fell beneath him - or so his body registered; it felt lighter than air.

"No. I'll never hurt her." The boy murmured weakly. He was within his own head now. Mortal again, just as he had wished. His eyes, bright blue, stared in horror at the being before him. At the being that was him. Darkness abound. Bloody red eyes, so huge, so endless... A taunting, demonic smile. Blood dripped from the vampire's fangs as he floated to Yuki. The boy paled in comparison to the monstrous thing. And that's what it was - a thing. Himself. Or, rather, what he could become. But the boy wouldn't, couldn't, conceive that. It was there, it grasped him with its cold, leathery hands. It felt like daggers pressing into his flesh. The boy screamed out in pain. In the back of his mind, the reason called out to him, so very faintly, but there never-the-less - "You can't let him win." But the boy couldn't hear it. No, all the boy felt was pain. It felt like his very breath was being taken away. His soul was tearing in two, and he was powerless to stop it.

"You're nothing." The demon whispered, his voice metallic and cold, tightening his hold on the insignificant being. Yuki cried out. He just wanted it to end. He just wanted it to end.

"Then let it."
Warm blood dripped onto Yuki's shoulder. "Let me out. You'll never feel again." Oh, how that sounded to the boy. "You can be with your family again. You miss them, don't you?" The demon said, his black hair wafting across the boy's delicate face. "I've seen it. All right here inside your head; when you think I'm not listening." He tilted the mortal's neck ever so slightly, and brushed his lips across his paper neck. The poison teeth, the fangs that Yuki had feared so very much, grazed the skin, leaving microscopic traces of blood in their wake.

"I can't fight it."
The boy murmured, groggy. So very weary.

He just wanted to rest. That's all any little boy - torn apart from the inside, decades upon decades tearing at his very soul - would want.

The vampire grinned, and gladly gave it to him.

Yuki - the real Yuki - lay bloody and bruised on the grass. Self-inflicted. His cloak had blown aside during a gust of wind. A cloud had covered the sun, briefly, but it wouldn't last long. His face looked so small, so hollow. It was impossible to tell what was going on internally, but externally...

Yuki was dying.

The gashes were deep. Too deep to heal properly, not in the indirect sunlight of the plain. The grass was stained crimson. A thin line of blood trailed from his mouth, dripping delicately onto the grass below his cheek. His hand, covered in his own blood, lay limp beside him. The other rested on his chest, rising and falling dimly with the final few puffs of air passing through his body.

Weakly, his eyes flickered open. Blue eyes gazed at the sky, at the cloud, and he smiled lightly. Maybe he would die here - maybe by some stroke of horribly impossible luck he wouldn't - but... His eyes welled with tears - real, water and salt and mortality-ridden tears. At least he would see his family again. And there was nothing wrong with that.

The little boy closed his eyes and slept.
