Umo sat in front of his eldest son, Tope, looking down at him with his crimson eyes sparkling in his frustration. Tope had been saying things lately that were aggravating his sisters and brother. His son had the bad habit of saying things before he thought about them and before he was sure he meant them. It was time for his son to start understanding the difference between a 'good comment' and a 'bad comment'. He had brought his son out to this area, a bit off from the pridelands. Considering Kika and himself were still edgy from being banished. Something about the thought softened his eyes. Curse.... he had been thinking about them being cursed. His sons... his daughters... something about how his cubs kept coming out... Kinamasi being cripples. Tope being headstrong. Ardhi talking jumbled. He shook his head, brining himself back into reality.
Tope... I know you love your brother more than anyone else in the family... but why do you say things to him about his speech in such a way to make him embarassed? He questioned, speaking down to his brown son with his usual tone... his flat one. He furrowed a brow.
Tope, knew his father was not angry.. but he was upset, he could tell by his fathers forehead and how it was wrinkled. He had padded behind his father, his tail between his legs in nervousness. He had said something to Ardhi and laughed... no one else had. He didn't understand how come.... He simply followed his father like he was told too. His father stopped and Tope took his place in front of his father, looking down with nervous pink eyes. He then looked up. Expecting the worse. His father spoke for a moment and Tope was a bit bothered by what his father said. Thats not true... I love everyone Dad. I love you and Mom and Chepechepe and Giza... and Ardhi all the same. I just hang out with Ardhi most cause he is my brother... He blinked up at his father and nodded his head furiously. I know Dad.. I just can't help it... I just... say things He said, looking down at his feet and shuffling his paws.
Umo looked at his son and smiled a bit. Tope didn't seem to hurt his brothers feelings. He bent down and set his nose upon his sons head, on his little tuft of brown fur... that would one day become a mane. I know you don't

Ever since he ran away with Ewan, he has been a lot happier. No more training other than those that he makes himself do without anyone else having to tell him. He was set on the idea of becoming physically strong, he had started it along with Usufii's seer training, his seer powers were good but he needed to be a lion and not something special. He still had his powers but as of late.... they have been off. Just moments prior, he had an image of Umo and another lion near the pride lands. Were they really there or no? He had to make sure.
The dark red male crept up the hill side and looked about. Where was Umo? He wanted to see his friend again...
"Umo...Umo...Umo...Umo...."
His violet eyes glanced around from the top of the hillside when his eyes settled on a brown object and another one beside it just the same just except smaller. Umo? Dumu, overly excited, bounded straight to the group. Umo or not.
"Umo! Umo!"

Umo looked down too his stubborn son, obviously not upset as he was before. Then there was that lingering feeling that it would happen again. Umo was a good father... but his ability to punish was outmatched. He had been punished too much as a child to do it too his children, for now. He simply shook his head and lowered his muzzle to lick the top of his sons head, much too his sons dismay. He lifted his head, sighing. His dear son... one of his marsh treasures. He would miss that place.
His ears perked at the catching of... someone speaking. He looked about, standing and gazing around with crimson eyes narrowing. He did not know much about these pridelanders and he wasn't so sure he trusted them so soon... if this was an intruder he would defend his cub... He gazed about, looking down too his son Tope and pulled him closer to his chest. Stay close Tope... there is a stranger
Tope hated it when his father stared at him and thought about things. Talk about silence. Ugh, he hated it. He looked around boredly, His Father did that alot, standing there and reminiscing. Blarg. He sat down, his pink eyes staring blankly in a direction out of his fathers direction. He knew his father was thinking about his mother or something... something boring. Ugh. He sighed, standing up and shaking the dust from his pelt before his father spoke too him, grabbing him and pulling him closer too him... what was he a baby? Daad, calm down. You are so nervous all the time... not all strangers are bad... geese He said with a snort, trying to wrestle from his fathers grasp. He managed to slip from his fathers paw and stand beside him, looking a bit nervous. Who do you think it is Dad?
Umo blinked, hearing the words again before his ears perked, head rose and tail lifted. Was it-could it be? He stepped from Tope, and smiled. It was. He caught the boys red pelt and familiar voice. Only, he was grown. Ooh, he was grown now. Look at him, Tope was almost his size. He looked down too his son, with a grin. Its Dumu He said simply, looking back up with a chuckle. No worries then.
Tope looked up at his father with a quaryful look. Who?

Dumu panted a bit as he slowed down as he approached the two lions. Both were similiar, but Umo stood out more. Dumu's powers have been acting up a lot, perhaps that would be the reasons for the strange ones that don't seem to be true entirely. He had relied on them for so long as they told him everything and also barred him from making proper meetings. Dumu purred and sat down.
"There you are Umo, it has been a while huh?"
His voice was growing deeper bit by bit, his mane was coming out as he neared his final stage of life..... assuming his father's curse. He was half-accepting of it but he cannot change it. He looked up at the older male and just smiled.
"I am sorry to see the unfortunate news..... it must be quite rough for your family to have.... well, you know."
Another quick vision. The sporadic images that just pop into his head. It was not meant to be rude or all-knowing, it just moved into his brain faster than he could think. Perhaps his over excitedness is making his powers act this way.... he was over excited.
Dumu's eyes dettered over to the other lion, about his age where he waved and smiled.
"Hello.... Tope."

Umo watched the lean boy he once knew as a cub walk. My was he growing beautifully. He did not doubt his father was proud to have spawned such a lovely child. He looked down at Tope with a smile. It had been a while indeed, way before Tope was born in fact. Wasn't it? Umo could not recall. His crimson eyes looked up too Dumu and he smiled, nodding his head. It indeed has been too long... you were just a small tyke when we last met... and yet... now you are so big. he said, his happiness not apparent in his voice but in his body. Dumu had such a small history with Umo and yet Umo felt as though he was more than that... almost a son to him. Umo seemed to fell that way when it came to the cubs he met.
Upon Dumu's words about misfortune, Umo looked down to Tope and blinked slowly. Was it really misfortune? He smiled slightly, looking back up too Dumu. It is not as unfortunate as I like to think. he said, looking down to Tope for a moment. His poor children, with those damn spirits hovering over them. Umo was comfortable with Dumu's powers, and was not moved by them.
Tope watched his father converse with this stranger for a moment before he got completly lost. Was it just him, or did his dad Totally give off the pedifile feel. He always seemed to have a heart for cubs, perhaps. He shook his head, looking at the stranger for a moment, fascinated by the shimmering eye on his forehead. He blinked his pink eyes slowly, thinking to himself. Was this fellow familiar? Eih, he sighed. What ever. His father conversed with this red fellow for a bit, while Tope's mind wandered. His attention was drawn when this Dumu character spoke of their unfortunate something or other.
He looked at this stranger for a moment, his eyes narrowing slightly. How did this fellow know? He wrinkled his nose and looked up too his father. Ugh. Little did Tope know, Dumu was special in such a way to see those things. Tope, being that he would one day become what his father feared most, was blind to such magical ways. For now at least. Being that his family was cursed. At least him and his brother. He looked down, pink eyes narrowing.
Perhaps it was just time to calm down and face facts. His father was a social butterfly. He wasn't. Tope had only one real friend and that was Ardhi... his brother. Perhaps this boy would like to become friends. He looked up, his eyes no longer narrowed and a smile across his face. Hello. I don't recall if we have met... but I am glad all the same He said, standing and giving a little bow. He also took that moment to take in the others scars. Ooh, battle marks? He could grow to like this guy. I am guessing you and my father go a ways back...

"Well, I am glad that you are alright nevertheless. I hope your family is doing well and it seems that your mate had a healthy litter. A unique one too. You must be proud."
Dumu spoke as he looked up at Umo. He was short, he had always been and frankly, he was getting used to others calling him that but that never stopped him from throwing a fit whenever someone did call him one. However, that is when his powers are most dangerous.... however not to others but himself. His powers grow out of control and his mind is barraged with images over and over into his trance snaps out.... whenever that is. Dumu was growing to live with his powers since cubhood and it has yet to be mastered or at least used with slight commands other than the contact one. His violet eyes looked around. The Pride Land border, that is where Umo and his family had set up after being ousted from the Swamplands.... that was the misfortunate event that he spoke up just a moment ago. It seems like they were couping, but what could be wrong? Something.... something seemed different.
"I've grown some, maybe a little I suppose. But since I'm with Ewan, I don't care as much as I used to because he's short too so there isn't much competition. Besides, he likes being short so why shouldn't I?"
Yadumu's attention directed itself over at Tope, his thoughts pulling at his own. His silver eye flickered then he smiled. A quick vision of the not-too-distant future as they were talking about their scar. Perhaps it was he who instigated it.
"Since you were probably wondering (or were going to...), these scars aren't so much battle scars but more of lessons that I learned."
he started, smiling even more. His paw drifted up to his right shoulder.
"This is from when I pushed my powers too far onto a Goddess, I just let things got out of hand and well.... this is what came from it. It's what is to be expected from angering the Goddess of Rage. However, this one here....." he murmured, placing a paw to his cheek. "was from my great niece.... it just happened, I don't recall much of it really."
"Oh! Umo, have you seen my mother lately?"

Umo could not help but compare the two young men in front of him. Dumu, spawn of a god. Tope, spawn of a curse. Someday, Umo would be tormented by his son in the future. Tope would hurt his father mentally and there was no way Umo could predict that. Or change it. Tope, being born from a world that was once his and was now hostile, due to his fathers love for his mother. Cursed, to be hurtful and hateful for no reason. It was who he would be. His son, cursed to speak weird. Umo loved his family and would always, but could he deal with what was yet to come. Oh yes, we are doing well as we can. The cubs are growing day by day... Tope here is showing his true blood, being first born. He said, reaching down and putting a foot next to Tope. He chuckled softly.
Umo agreed that Dumu had grown. It seemed like everyone around him was growing. His cubs... his love for his family and his mate. His love for... himself. His black ears perked at the mentioning of someone named Ewan. A friend. So you have found a companion then? Tell me more about this Ewan... Do I get to meet him someday? Umo asked, looking down at Dumu, his almost adoptive son. So, there was perhaps, a love in Dumu's life? A male one too. Umo wasn't for or against that sort of thing. A thought crossed Umo's mind.
His cubs were almost the age where mates came into play. He looked down at Tope for a moment, his face straight. A female for Tope. A female for Ardhi. Males for the sisters. And Kinamasi. His heart flip floped for a moment, thinking of his eldest daughter, on her own. He blinked slowly, diverting his thoughts from his eldest. It was almost evitable... she would return too the swamplands... and find them gone. Would she ever see them again?
Umo had to shake his head to forget his daughters plight and too the two before him. Tope, would he find a mate? A female (or male) to love and to cherish him like he did with Kikawaida?
Tope watched these two converse again. Boy his father was such a poofy love ball. Ugh, he could gag. He blinked down at his feet, tempted to chew on his feet for a moment to pass the time but decided not too. He was spoken too and his head perked up. Huh? Oh...-I was-just thinking that.... er... I've never really had any contact other than my siblings. We've been so busy... doing other things... He glanced up at his father Considering.... but hopefully I can make a few friends someday... he said. He shook his fur for a moment, remembering what Dumu was saying about some... some Ewan. He blinked. The way that he said what he said... He blinked for a moment, a bit jealous. He had one friend. His brother. That was it. He felt a bit more jealous, looking up at his father. No friends. because they were cursed. He bit his lip and looked away for a moment.
I am missing so much. Being stuck here with Mom and Dad. I wish they weren't so danged sticky with us. I want friends. I want... He stopped, looking weary. He was a bit sad now. He was missing out on alot...
Umo watched his son for a moment, curious of his actions. He would question him later. He looked up at Dumu after a moment. No. Actually, I am not sure if I have even met your mother... I think it is just your father I have met.

"You forgotten already? You met my mother when you met me, she is the one that came to get me. Heh, maybe you are getting old there, Umo. ... I wanted to tell her something, but I am afraid if she saw me, she'd send me back to that wolf. Then I'll just have to run away again."
He chuckled heartfully and let it die away slowly looking over at Tope.
"Cubs grow, it can't be stopped...." Lie, he's life would be stopped just as his father has. Though his body will remain young, his life will move on and his wisdom will grow. "So Tope is the first born just like me, huh? That's pretty cool. Got a lot of responsibilities to uphold like watching out for your siblings, y'know?"
Dumu chuckled and smiled into the distance as the topic of Ewan came up. Ewan... the closest friend he had outside of his family aside from Umo. The topic was ideal for him.
"Ewan's.... a close friend of mine. I met him while he was journeying to find someone, he sort of stayed with me for a while before I had to go back to that wolf that my parents left care over me. I just gave up on him and ran off to Ewan. I suppose you can say I have my reasons. But don't get me wrong, the guy is really sweet and nice, a bit lazy, but that just makes him so more comfortable when he's there to lean on. I suppose I have feelings for him, but I dunno if I should tell him. After all, he's much older than I am and I don't know if he even feels the same way about me. I'd probably end up getting hurt."
With a slight sigh, Dumu looked up into the sky. It seemed like his powers were becoming wrong sometimes, he could not trust them especially on the topic of Ewan. He had to trust in himself to answer those questions, it was too dangerous to trust his powers now. They were just..... unpredictable and faulty at times.
Then Tope had spoke something of friendship that just made him smile.
"Tope... some say that if you have a best friend, that is all you need in the world. I find it true, I have found one and I am gonna be greedy and try to find more. Maybe you can find yourself a good friend too."

Umo sat in thought for a moment and went back in his memory. Was he getting old? No, he was just... flustered perhaps. The current and not so current happenings with his family may be at cause. Course, Umo was not as young as he used too be. Oh well, he chuckled deeply and gazed down at Dumu with a smile. I must be getting old. I can barely outrun Kikawaida... Forgive me Dumu... but I do recall her now. Just slipped my mind perhaps... He said, thinking back a bit further and imagining Dumu's father. Hmm. He blinked for a moment and then looked down again. They sent you away to live with a wolf? Thats odd... He said simply. It was not his place however to judge what Dumu's parents did... so he left he topic at that.
Tope was a bit more interested in listening to what his father and this Dumu had so say. His pink eyes danced between his father and -this juv-. He thought for a moment, resembling his father. Hmm... He could find Ardhi a friend too... then he wouldn't have to make sure his brother was alright all the time-someone else could. Tope's ears perked at the mentioning of him. What? Oh, yeah. Lucky firstborn. I was he one that father saw and got us banished for... I don't see it as very cool. As for watching over my siblings, I mainly keep to my brother. My sisters are too-girly-and Ardhi can be a bit-odd at times. But I suppose to do keep an eye on him... He said, wrapping his tail around his front legs and looking intently at his tail tip. Then, Dumu starting talking about this Ewan... He listened but did not look directly at Dumu.
Umo nodded. He often wished he had found a companion long ago, when he first started his life away from home -which was early mind you- running away is much easier with someone by your side. He looked down too the boy who was as much of a sun to him as Tope and Ardhi were and smiled. Ah, love? Did Dumu feel love for this Ewan. Umo bent down and lay so that he could be more at level with the two boys. He hoped soon that Tope would have a love interest, it would be good for him. I see. Well Dumu. If you truely feel this way for Ewan, you should tell him. Keeping a secret that important can harm more than it can help. After all, if he does feel the same, you will be glad. And if he does not... you may be saddened by the result, but what why have that harm a relationship that is already started? He asked, reaching a paw out to pat Dumu on the head. He smiled warmly and looked too his son. Perhaps someday, you too Tope will be in this situation.
Tope rolled his eyes at his father. He didn't have time to find a girl to be friends with. He was to busy with other things. He glanced up when Dumu spoke too him again and smirked a bit. I have a brother... and he is the closest i will get too a best friend. I am sure of it... no one else wants to converse with someone who was exiled... I might curse them too

"Well, the reason why my parents sent my brother and me to these wolves were because Aki's could help him and mine.... lets just say he was able to help me in mastering my birthright. But as you can tell, that didn't go too well."
Dumu laid down as well and rolled onto his back, looking up at the other two. He could tell these two had their differences. Umo was getting old but he was just as friendly as always. Tope had a bit of issues with extending his paw out to others. It sounds like he only sticks around Ardhi. He thinks that this exile business is keeping him from having friends.
"Tope.... you may be the reason why the family is exiled, then again I assume Umo was not suppose to be there. But just because you are exiled doesn't mean you have to only have friends in teh family. You may like to hang out with your brother, I know I did. But your sisters and parents are there too. You can't just stay with Ardhi forever, you have to meet others too."
Dumu paused and smiled up at Umo.
"I know.... I'm not like you, no, only half of me is. I am the son of a God, which gives me a birthright to the abilities that I have been using this entire time. You may not know it but I certainly do. I once thought that because my power relies on physical contact with another being, I could not have friends. I was well-mannered, I felt bad if I invaded another's private thoughts. I'd know so much about them and sometimes their secrets too. I have even had feelings and dreams by touching them. I thought that if I touched them that they would hate me.... but, that wasn't what happened. It's how I met Ewan and look how we are."
....
"I'm gonna tell him when I get back. I am sure of it."

Umo chuckled slightly at the boys intrest. It was good to see young lives sprouting new beginings. He nodded, stretching his legs out his front legs towards Tope and patting the ground softly, for Tope to take a lay down. This was not a nervous time, he could relax. Umo was very fond of his boys, all of them-blood wise and the like. Umo could feel his heart beat warmly, for Dumu had found love. When would Tope and Ardhi and his daughters? Kinamasi, he hoped she had perhaps found someone... and a name. His heart sunk for a moment, Kinamasi... he sighed. Looking over to Dumu, he smiled. I see. They were doing what they saw best no doubt. i would do the same. he said. Indeed, if any of his children had special abilities, he'd want to have the best for them.. and if that were to send them away... he would.
Tope blinked slowly. He wasn't sure if he liked this stranger, to be telling him about friends. Since when did he know about anything back home. That his mother was afraid of anything-father was too lovely, his brother odd-sisters... were sisters. Well, I certainly plan on finding some other companions eventually... but until then... I am afraid that my Mother and Father don't want me wandering alone... until we are safe in the pridelands... which will be... soonish. Tope said, laying down slowly to make his father stop picking at him. Ugh. He crossed his gloved paw over the other, laying his head down upon them.
Umo nodded slowly. He trusted that Dumu would reveal his liking to Ewan soon... it would be better. He was proud. I hope you get the reaction you are seeking

Dumu chuckled softly and let his ears relaxed. Things seem to grow much more soothing with Umo around, but the feeling that he got from Tope was a bit interrupting. He sighed softly and smiled.
“Well, I am sure when things are said and done, you will find yourself a good companion to stick around with. I’ll be your friend if you like, Tope. I am wandering around with Ewan, but I can always keep any eye on you.”
Pun intended. The only thing that he had learned from Usufii was able to see a still shot image of a being in that moment. It could be inaccurate at times but it was enough to make sure that they were still alive. Dumu chuckled a bit.
“I am sure if I trusted myself enough that I could bring myself to ask him upfront rather beat around the bush with it. I suppose I will tell him eventually, but I think he may already know.”

Umo chuckled as well, flexing his toes one by one, feeling the ground give way slightly. He liked that feeling. He blinked his crimson eyes in understanding. These two, he almost saw them as brothers... though Tope was diffrent from Dumu and Dumu was diffrent from Tope. He was udderly happy that Dumu wanted to help Tope... yes... he did feel sorrowful for his children-but he understood his mates reasoning and he pursued the same. There cubs were not safe until they were far-far away from the swamps. Umo cringed at the thought of what would have happened if they had stayed... to see everyone else. By what Kika said, exilement was a good thing. Death would have resulted to Him and Kika. The children-he didn't want to think about it.
Umo looked at his son Tope for a moment. A boy so grown-almost a man... and yet there was something about him that was unsettling. Tope had an anger to him-
Tope gave Dumu a well thought out look, blinking his pink eyes much like his father had. He bit his cheek uncomfortably for a moment before speaking. He had never had anyone had someone who had wanted to be his friend before and he didn't know how to react. He looked over at Dumu. "Uh-thanks. I'd love to come hang around sometime... but I don't think I need to be watched over---I am pretty sure I can handle myself He said a bit nervously, looking down at his feet. He was a bit nervous however. His only friend in the danged world would be made-because his father knew someone who knew someone. Tope lay down his head, he probably would never find a friend on his own.
Umo smiled for a moment. I remember when I first told Kikawaida I loved her. He said, remembering the moment fondly. He remembered the way her pink eyes lit up. ^W^
Tope made a face. Ewww his dad was talking about his Mom. Blarg

Dumu's expression was very similar to Tope's, even the noise gave an added affect. He gagged a bit and shook his to collect himself.
"Well, I didn't say I had to watch over you, but like I said, I tend to wander a lot so I like to know how everyone is doing. A good time around would be nice, I am sure that we could find someone for you be friends with too. Who knows, maybe a certain someone to like."
He chuckled at the last bit as he raised to his paws, stretchign out his back, he glanced back at Umo.
"I should be heading back soon. If I wait too long, I might just lose Ewan. He likes to wander.... a lot, I guess that is where I got my own wander lust from. I will be sure to try to ask him, I will tell you when I can. You two be okay, alright? I don't want to have to come back to find that either you decided to kick the bucket."
He smiled softly.
"Bye Umo, bye Tope. I hope to see you two again sometime.... I mean in person."
he chuckled a bit and stood there for a moment, taking in their appearance and expressions before starting off.

Umo looked too his 'two' sons and sighed. They were growing so much. It was almost alien to him-even was kinamasi's growing as a child. He smiled, listening too Dumu talking to Tope. Boy, the diffrences in personalities were great- he had never really known the diffrence. His four cubs were similair at least half the time but seeing someone outside the family ties was a change. A welcomed one. He would love for Dumu and Tope to have a friendship, he afterall had one with the boy-and his father. He wondered where his father was for a moment.
He heard Dumu speak of having to leave and he nodded. They should leave as well-Kika would be getting worried. So, he stood nodding. Yes, we should take our leave as well. He said, looking too his son.
Tope just nodded. He wasn't sure what to say to Dumu-being that he had never been offered something like friendship before. He nodded again, his pink eyes glazed over at the thought of having friends. He smiled, looking too his father and bounding after him. Bye Dumu-I hope to see you soon too He said, walking along side his father. Home they go
