This Thread is designated for all talk on the second Suikoden game and its side story Suikogaiden. Now we all know about the game (well not all), so I think you'll find it better to conversate on the game here. Now I'm not restricting regular creation of topics, but ONLY, and I mean ONLY if you feel that the topic you want to discuss is rather thought provoking and needs its own thread to express what your trying to say. Other than that, only talk about suikoden 2 and Gaiden on this thread please. Thank you.

Hmm... I guess now's as good a time as any to bring out this crazy idea...

It all started with a line from an NPC... They mentioned how Riou's accent was different and asked him if he was from Highland. This got me to thinking... What if Highland represents Britain, and Riou Genkaku is really British? sweatdrop Not that I have anything against Britain, but the similarities... What if some of the cities and regions were inspired by real countries, specifically during World War II? Let it be known now that I don't believe them to be actual representations of the cities themselves, but rather that they borrowed some ideas from actual history.

Highland had military strength and was involved in the majority of the Dunan Unification War. Also, it seemed to be the most "high class" region in all of the Suikoden world.

The Toran Republic is similar to China, since the Water Margin originated there. I believe that the story of the Water Margin ran along the lines of gathering warriors to overthrow the emperor, which is part of what happened in Suikoden 1. Plus the name... People's Republic of China... Toran Republic... The Even More Glorious Beautiful Golden City...

Matilda is like France... They joined forces with Highland, and retreated when they couldn't fight any longer.

Tinto is similar to the US, since it speciallizes in mining and the like. They weren't involved until late in the war, and Gustav wasn't exactly the best of leaders... I also see the US as being fairly susceptible to zombie invasions, like in Resident Evil.

I'm not sure how it would work with other countries... but by all means feel free to agree or disagree with me... It's a foolish idea after all... sweatdrop

Hmm... Interesting Theory. It seems like you've dwelled onto something. Maybe I should look more into it myself.

i always compare each country of suikoden with an other sweatdrop but i think highland represent more scotland and the city state would be actually england sweatdrop you see there is some similaritie with that idea and a historic period
in 1745 because of a young king that was around 17 years old scotland been into war big time and they loose everything at a battle sweatdrop and well after that scotland was pretty muhc no more and they didnt even have to right to wore kilt xd
but that just a theori.
if they talk about accent its because its 2 different country its normal that they each have there own accent dont you think sweatdrop

ok every one that has play suikoden 2 know its full of glitch and tradiction mistake
i have gotten a lot of bug and typo

-in the beginning if you go up instead of east to escape from the ''state suprise attack'' they will call luca blight, Luca bright.

- there is the matilda glitch when you head to muse go to matilda border you should be able to push the door to get in matilda and get futch and humphrey (beware you are around level 10 and 20 when you get tehre you be instatly become a level 40 it may ruin the fun of playing already that suikoden is not really hard XD, oh also cant make the game freak out if you dont finish the futch quest to get bright)

-and one of the funniest i had befor the final battle in the castle, you walk aroudn and see other caractere talking to each other, well if you get on the roof flik will be talking to nina. the thing is nina will say what flik should say and flik will say what nina should say, i really laugh when i saw that , i mean flik saying he will wait forever for is sir flik to come to him and nina that talk how much she loved odessa xd

A...ano... It's not exactly an anime... sweatdrop Suikogaiden 1 and 2 were extra games that were only released in Japan, though I managed to acquire them. Both take place storywise between Suikoden 2 and 3. They're more like interactive "Choose Your Own Adventure" books with pretty pictures and wonderfully remixed music... But if you can't read that many kanji (like me), at least you can look at the pictures.

Really!!!??? Whoa... so you can like.... download these clips? WHERE??? OOOOOOO! Thanks! I really wanna know!
Kenton Alkemi
Well... Umm... sweatdrop You can probably download them illegally from somewhere... but I bought the actual discs from an import store... Oh, you can download the opening clips for 1 and 2 somewhere, but I don't have the link at the moment...
