I finally have found someone who makes me the happiest I've been for awhile, but he has, um, illegal habits that I don't agree with. I'm torn between staying with him, or leaving what I have come to love to keep my beliefs. Advice and prayers would be amazing. crying

Basically you have a choice - your beliefs or this new found happiness.
How does he feel about you? Would losing you make him change his ways? Is there a way for you to influence him toward a changing of ways?
It boils down to, you can only serve one Master, that is really what your choice is here.

I really appreicate your prayers and advice. He is willing to quit and I am trying to be as supportive as possible.

ok, so be supportive and help him quit. just remember that if it ends up compromising your beliefs, you have to choose between, itll be hard
i am praying for him to have strength as well as you. you are going to need it, so you shall find it.

He is slowly stopping, and I understand I cannot expect him to stop cold-turkey, but he said it will all end by this month. However, if I find that it doesn't, I guess I am leaving. I really like him, but I abhor his smoking.

Updated- He won't stop, so I left him. I can't live a lie-- I just do not respect poeple with values like that. I'm sad and disappointed, but he chose to do what he has, and I am not apart of those choices. I can only go forward from here. Thanks guys for your support heart
