Just come here to talk about the sub-genres, or if you have questions. My favorite would be Traditional Doom, and the poll is in the order Ilike them. Here are some examples of the sub-genres. Traditional - CandlemassStoner - Electric WizardSludge - CrowbarFuneral - PantheistDrone - EarthDeath/Doom - diSEMBOWELMENT

Electric Wizard! heart
Pantheist and Candlemass are awesome too. I have heard of the other ones, but never got to downloading them. I'll definitely check them out.
I don't know A LOT of doom, but a decent amount. I'm definitely interested in getting more of it. My specialty regarding metal subgenres is definitely Folk metal, and a good bit of Viking metal.

I have Candlemass' discography, I'd suggest you get Epicus Doomicus Metallicus first. Pantheist I have O Solitude and a rehearsal thing (which I think is bootleg since it's not listed on M-A). I'd also suggest Solitude Aeturnus if you don't have them already. I'm starting to get into Viking Metal but I made a thread yesterday so I don't need recs. right now.

My favorite Pantheist album is probably Amartia. You should check it out. 3nodding I've been really getting into Cathedral. I think they're brilliant. Do you like them?

gakihime I dont think I've heard doom metal before... any bands I should listen to? I put links to myspace for bands from each sub-genre to give people an idea of what they sound like. although if you don't like Candlemass style Doom you should try Reverend Bizarre, Saint Vitus, and Witchfinder General each with a different variation. and then if you like something we can go from there. The bands in the first post are either the first in their respective genre or a really big name. @ Lai: I have three Cathedral album I'm not sure if that's all or not.

I guess I'll have to get on the other computer which has limewire on it and get downloading

Well when M-A gets back online you can search them to find their official sites they probably have samples there. Oh, and on my other post Earth is Drone and Down is Sludge. and Om is stoner that is less intense than Electric Wizard.

gakihime Uh... my parents blocked myspace..... theres no way to get around it. I guess I'll have to get on the other computer which has limewire on it and get downloading Limewire ******** your computer sideways. Get Soulseek or BitTorrent, or both. I'm really happy with them - I've basically used up all of the space on my comp with songs. biggrin Thank you sooo much. This is awesome. I'll post the Cathedral albums when they're finished downloading, if you'd like.
