I was talking to my brother who just returned from his 2nd trip to Japan. He commented that Japanese men are pretty much obsessed with western women.
Is this true or does he need to make some further observations?

I have heard of a mild obsession with Japan and America in general. (I think Miyavi wearing USA pants pretty much shows that well...xD)

I think it goes both ways on certain levels. I know plenty of non-Asian guys who want Asian girlfriends, so it's not surprising to see that some Asian guys might want non-Asian girlfriends. It's based on exotic tastes and what your preferences are for that sort of thing. I mean the American comedian who made his living over in Japan (Makkun) married a Japanese super model. mrgreen

I know plenty of non-Asian guys who want Asian girlfriends, so it's not surprising to see that some Asian guys might want non-Asian girlfriends. It's based on exotic tastes and what your preferences are for that sort of thing. I mean the American comedian who made his living over in Japan (Makkun) married a Japanese super model. mrgreen Yeah, sort of a novelty thing, though in the end, hopefully, the novelty only lasts until the person realizes that their Japanese/American girlfriend/boyfriend is a jerk or a really cool person. It's a stereotype of mine that if you go to a place like Japan, people will generally be interested in your visit, for better or worse. And by that, I mean they'll either want to help you out or just stare/shun you. Barring of course, that they take no interest at all. I dunno, it's just the strong first impression I got.

Everyone has a different tastes. Some Japanese guys might be crazy about white girls while another one thinks black girls are pretty or some Greek person likes Indian women... you know? There's always going to be interest in things that are different. People are attracted to whatever they want.

Loco_Blade I don't mind what race my girlfriend would be, but I would want a Japanese girlfriend. XD If you want a girl just because she's Japanese, chances are you're going to get a whore who only wants you for your Louis Vuitton dollars.

The Japanese youth these days are obsessed with anything American. Ganguro, Gal-o...All striving to look American because they think its cool, and also are after either Americans or Ganguro girls and Gal-o guys...which is odd, because Gal-O's are more feminine than American men....*shrug*
