Donna the Vixen If one didn't know any better, the bird walking towards the shop may very well ahve been considered a peacock for how proudly he strode. Carl was in a good mood! His project was comming along, his powers had grown ever stronger, and he looked fabulous as he pushed the door to the shop open and gave grand entrance by sweeping an elegant leg in and adressing his kingdom. "Good Morning! Anyone here?" It didn't look like it mattered to him whether or not there was anyone about, for he'd clearly come on the occasion of his fancy, so he cast no glance about as he stepped up to meet the center of his proclaimed domain.

-Humming softly, Chastity swung back and forth on her tiny swing, letting the sunlight warm her feathers, looking almost like some circus showgirl with the way the light filtered into her golden cage.
But she was not too lost in her play to notice the twinkle of the bell. And despite his growth, the hummingbird immediately recognized her feathered friend. The one she'd been able to talk to even when he was but a small eaglet (eaglet is the coolest word ever).-
"Carrrrrllllllll! Hello!" -She chirped pleasantly, splaying her log tail feathers out delicately as she tried to slow her swing, jewelry and baubles twinkling lightly as they touched. And then she was off, words flowing from her like a river.- "Well don't we look handsome? That shirt is really very dashing, did you know? When did you grow? It has been awhile since I've seen you I suppose! That's a shame really, since we are so alike."

Donna the Vixen Chastity! Oh yes, he certainly remembered that voice, the gentle chime of his ornament,s and the musical laughter that he'd once spared him. That had been a LONG time ago - but a rule was not to forget the ladies fair, and she was certainly one amongst the many the shop provided. "Chastity! Too long a time has passed since we last spoke." He'd now begun towards her, scaling up to her cage just as Romeo had climber the bannister to Juliet. Only - they weren't Romeo and Juliet, and he was going to be darned if he was going to die as easily as that guy! He soon stood nearby the cage, and in her prescence swept a bow before rising up in his divine stature. "Do you think I look dashing? I was hoping you and the others would think so...and I grew last August." A time much too far away for his liking. "How have you been since we lest met?"

-She watched as he quickly made his way up, settling herself back down onto her perch as he made it evident she didn't need to come down to him. And she listened with soft interest, head, and blonde curls bobbing gently as she nodded.-
"August is such a long time! I can't imagine what's been keeping us away since then. THe holidays maybe. There certainly are alot of them in the fall and winter. All bundled up so close. But maybe next year we can spend some with the other velvets as well. I think that'd be fun. Not that family isn't fun, just more fun. More people, more excitement."
-Giggling alittle, her words finally slowed long enough to give him a pleasant little wink, before stroking his ego.- "I'm sure the others will think you look just as handsome as I do."

Donna the Vixen "But of course...although as long as you think so, I'm happy." He smiled, running his talons back along his crest gently as though to further perfect what he'd painstakingly styled earlier that day. "Perhaps we could spend spring together...perhaps go on a picnic with the others? I'm sure they woud enjoy such warm company and weather." As much as he'd like to be admired that is.
He let his hand slip back to the cage to tentavely lay his fingers upon the golden bars. Honestly, he knew not why she prefered to be in this...this cage...rather than in the open with him. yet, he didn't dare question her logic at such a time as this, lest a nerve be stricken and ruin the moment. Rather, he directed it to something more pleasant. "Tell me...Does the caged bird sing for joy? You look happy up there."

Iris_virus "Ohhhh! I haven't been on a picnic in forever." -Face falling into her hands delicatlely, she sighed whistfully.- "Me and Millie used to go out to the park all the time! Play tag, watch boys, picnic and watch the days go by. It'd be great to go on one again with my new friends."
-Caught lightly of guard by the question, she giggled softly, turning her gaze back to the other feathered velvet.- "I'm not locked in. And I quite like my swing."
-Standing, she made her way to the edge of the cage, arms reaching out to lace around the delicate gold curves.- "It was a gift from my father made ecspecially for me. The most beautiful of accesories don't you think?"

Donna the Vixen Her father MADE it? Carl was impressed. He gently carressed one of the bars and smiled, nodding in approval of the craftsmanship. "It's a beautiful cage. Your father must be a very skilled metal worker to make something so delicate and sturdy as this." Not that he couldn't! He just hadn't quite gotten good at it yet...However, he was good at picking up that the picnic was a welcome suggestion. "We could picnic by the river and go swimming, and maybe cook some fish - if we caught any. We could also play tag, as you mentioned, and skip stones across the water - if not go farther to explore."

Iris_virus -Leaning against the bars comfortably, arms resting on the outside, she hummed a little in soft agreement, letting the thoughts carry whistfully off.- "I'd like to see you catch some fish. I don't eat them myself though. I drink nectar, don't eat much of anything actually. Just treats from time to time."
"What a wonderful idea! Just the two of us? Or should we invite other people to come along too? A whole big group. Maybe Acia would like to go? I haven't seen her in forever either."
-Sliding finally away from the cage, she made her way over to the door, swinging it open gently, before she sat down upon the edge, dangling her feet.- "But that's for another day. What would you like to do today? Something more exciting then simply talking? Not that I don't like talking. It's one of the things I'm good at."

Donna the Vixen "Whatever would make you happiest." Carl would probably not be allowed to read his mothers books if she heard him talking like this, but the more serious meaning was lost on him as he simply dubbed it to sound like something good to say. After all, he was still a child.
He went and sat near her, inclining his head slightly in thought before an idea struck him. "Would you like to explore the back? I'm sure there are interesting things in there."

Iris_virus -Chastity admired the young eagle gently as he settled in alongside her, taking in the charming natural colors that so boldly differed from her own bright ones. Even his clothing was oppisite to hers, strong bold blue versus her flirty and playful splashing of rainbows. Quite lost was she in thought that it took her a moment to answer when his question arose, but positively she did.- "Ohhh! Certainly. As long as you don't mind protecting me that is."
"My powers aren't very useful. And I'm not very good at getting myself out of trouble. You should have seen what a hassle I was in Erae's quest... or how often I need help through my own. Never know what might be hiding in the back after all."

Donna the Vixen Carl grinned and pushed himself up. He turned, offering his hand in assistance, and allowing her to sample his natural charm for such manners. True, his colors were dull in comparrison to hers. The bright emeralds beset by gold and ruby made her look like a princess, one who dwelled in such a golden castle that his chambers might be coarse against. Still, to each there was a style and personality all their own, so he allowed a harmonious wave between the two of them and gestured to the back. "Shall we? To the unknown we shall venture, and I will protect the Princess Velveteen."

Iris_virus -Emerald colored fingers slipping gently into his smaller hand, she let herself be lead, giggling just a little as the game sounded, echoing back his playful sentiment.- "Absolutely. Onward valiant prince!"
Lifting herself finally, she spread her wings gently and awaited his motion. Being smaller then her, she have to pay attention to Carl as they decended. Make sure her wings didn't get in the way of his. But he was up for the challenge. It'd been so long since she'd been flying with anyone.-

Donna the Vixen But he had no wings. Carl instead climbed down, careful to make sure she had ample room to fly as they descended. It was a short enough trip, from top to floor, floor to door, and before long the corridor opened into the darkness, a winding hall that only Iris could navigate without comming upon such strange things. That did not concern him though. Instead, he held her hand a bit tighter, although stil quite delicately, and lead her in slowly so as not to cause fright. He'd promised he would protect her, and he would. "I'll leave the choosing up to you, Princess. Which door would you like to try?"

Iris_virus -Her wings spread, and in their unique humming bird way flittered gently as they descended, loft keeping her feet from touching the ground (or lack there of) as her hand stayed interlaced with Carl's. Only when they reached the ground did they stop, silencing the mad twinkling of jewelries in the process, and carefully she let him lead, looking down at him with a mild smile. She wasn't the tallest of velvets, but being a teen she certainly had a few inches on him. But that didn't wreck the game for her, and hopefully it wouldn't for him either.
Gazing around timidly as the suggestion touched the air, she pondered softly, before pointing at a door near the end of the long hallway.-

Donna the Vixen "To that one it is.Come, and don't be scared of the darkness. The shining light of your laughter will cause it to retreat if only you laugh loud enough.". He kept her close to his side and strode forwards without so much as a moments hessitation as they strolled deep into the underbelly of the shop. These doors...He watched them as they passed them by. There were magic and he knew it. He and Trea had been in an all too similar situation that had led to a day of knights and castles. Where would it lead now? Who knew? He only hoped it would be something exciting as finally their destination was reached, and with breath held back in anxiousness he reached out and turned the knob.
