most of the time it was not a mean reaction they received from others, but it was still different, and thats something that Irked him about meeting others. he didn't want to be told he was different, he knew very well that he had bones over his body.
he had grown to enjoying being alone anyway, Spending most of his time with his Uncle Jedrek, who, even in physical presence was just like being alone. Jayce didn't quite understand why, but uncle Jedrek had a distant, coldness about him, something Jayce found oddly comforting at times.
Jayce shuffled around the small collection of Candies, he had had laying out on a rock, letting them bask in the sun and air for a couple of weeks, returning, so find them as hard and cold as the stone they lay on.
"perfect" he grumbled, tossing a stale treat into his fang caged mouth.

"You should try Coffee," came a cheerful voice from behind him, "It tastes much better than those; less sweet too!" the sound was practicaly a chirp, tell truth, and amusing must've been the fact that the one to lean over, peering over Jayce shoulder should be a Coffee numa, no less. These creatures were known for being bitter, stubburn and rather mean, yet this one seemed far from this; in fact, the smile that curved her maw was not even lessened by the small vampire-ish fangs that adorned it, for some odd reason.
Perhaps further amusing was the fact the female was leaning practicaly against Jayce's back in order to peer over, her deadly claws coming to rest upon his oposite shoulder, harmless as a kitten's paw, "I can't eat candy; it upsets my stomach," this said, the female purred innocently, as if she'd just voiced a joke, and finally retreated away from his form, far enough to allow her to pad on all four around the rock, sniffing at the candy displayed upon it with her small nose.
Her bright colors seemed to go against those her race usualy sported (those born within the 'evil' race seemed to prefer darker, or redish colors to hide within the swamps), and not only this, but unlike many, she seemed quite content with this fact. She didn't seem to feel the need to be evil, or otherwise act diferent around others; for whatever reason, be it good or bad, Hùong saw everyone to be the same. Even the Coffee witch (The poor poor dear! She must be so lonely! All she needed was a great big hug! Surely!) was included into the whole lot, for as far as Hùong was concerned, one could have presented her with a deadly what-you-ma-called-it and she would've hugged it. So long it weren't bent on trying to sting her like that bee that had chased her the previous day, of course. ;;;
Finaly lifting her head to gaze at him, she smiled, "I like your feathers; pretty colors," which was the truth really, for she liked and favoured strong, warm colors over cold ones, for reasons beyond her other than simple irrationality, "What's your name? I'm Hùong!" again, this was chirped, her draconic tail thumping the ground, her long claws leaving long gashed as she absent-mindedly played with the earth.

"Erk!"
he had been taken by surprise by a sudden voice in his arm, and a warm presence on his back,
a shiver running up his spine, causing the mane lining his bony back and around his head to prickle.
lurching forward just as she let go, he spun, shoulders hunched, eyes wide beneath his skull, as she watched the progress of the female. he had been certain he had been alone, how could he let himself get so distracted?
"coffee?" he repeated mildly. didn't take much long after that to recognize her as a Coffee Numa, now that he was actually looking at her, he recognized allot of the features, though her pattern was different from his uncles, she seemed rather hole, from what he had seem from his uncle, he had assumed all Coffee were falling apart.
"Already tried it" he said with a slight shudder at the memory "can't say I'm to fond of it"
he scowled, at the sight of his stale candies upon the ground, having been knocked there in his startled reaction. he began to pick them up, when she had commented on the Feathers in his head.
blinking slowly he glanced up at her
"colors?"
what was with her? she didn't act like his uncle either, was she really a coffee? he could be mistaken... maybe she was just a really strange Candy. he didn't know what there females looked like after all

"Awwwww.... Well, I still think it's wonderful!" though she seemed let down by the fact he hadn't liked coffee all too much, the notion didn't truthfully sadden her for long, for her ears suddenly perked, and smile that seemed more of a smirk (And thus truer to her breed) haunting her maw momentarily, "You didn't answer my question!" she chirped as she pointed a claw at him, "What's your name? Tellmetellmetellme!" after all, she didn't know what to call him; if he were not to give her his name, Hùong was likely to end up calling him by some sort of a nickname, and mostly due to the way her strange mind worked, this was rather ill-advised to say the least.Unseen by the coffee female, a smaller numa was slowly trudging along from where she'd come from, "Hey, Hùong, wait up..." the voice was meek, a squeak as a smaller, yet still rather pink hued (mostly due to the dress that adorened her petite body) slowly stepped into scene, "I've told you once, and I've told you a million times... don't run off suddenly on me! You're much larger, and I don't have wings ;_;" Sakura, whom had previously been enjoying a quiet stroll with the coffee, had been promptly left behind by the later as she'd spotted something interesting.A tilt of Hùong's head signalled she'd heard, "Sorry!" she didn't sound sorry at all however, for a small smile and a giggle were allready creep-bubbling up her form, her eyes amused as she watched Sakura pad up to her and slowly climb up her form till she was placed securely over the Coffee's head, latching onto the horn that still remain entire, "Sakura! Meet Mr.Grumpy-Face! He won't tell me his name, and he doesn't like coffee!!" the later was said with a gasp, as if Hùong could still simply not wrap her mind around said fact.Slowly, the lithe pup-like numa turned her head to face Jayce; she'd not noticed him at first, and instantly felt rather ashamed for having ignored him. Gasping, she allowed herself to thump the top of the coffee female's head with her small paw, "Hùong! That's not a very nice thing to say! Ask him for his name politely!" this said, she turned and smiled at the male, pausing suddenly to tilt her head; now... why did he seem somewhat familiar? Of course, it took Sakura a few moments to recognise him; she'd only seen him in photos before, that her owner had brought with her, "My, my, if it isn't Xiang's baby, all grown up," she didn't seem bothered by his appearence, for after all, she WAS Xiang's, and his sibbling's mother too, to boot; they had been some of the very first.... special numas about, and thus did not feel the need to show surprise for this fact, "You wouldn't recognise me, I'm sure, but I'm Sakura, and in case this ... girl here hasn't introduced herself, she's Hùong. She means well, don't feel ofended; her coffee nature gets to her in odd ways; I apologise?""Coffee nature?""Hush, dear."

he had just finished collecting the remainder of his candy, a cold Scowl over his lips as she considered just giving her a fake name, when he had heard a second voice, this time looking up to see a very small clothed Numa sitting upon the head of the larger female that was just confirmed a Coffee.
Long arms cradling the horde of old sweets he had, he hunched his shoulders, head turned down. though the posture of the rest of his body, and the way he was staring at the two from under his brow, suggested he was hiding his discomfort with intimidation. normal he would have taken action by now, but he had learned from Jedrek very early on, that to strike, or provoke the violence of a Coffee could very well be the end of you.
head perking up slightly he blinked up at the small clothed female... who's name was Sakura, the same sounded familiar, but he could not make a connection.
"yeah" he added gruffly his breath holding out even after he stopped talking. "Xiang's one of my fathers" he continued.
he wondered for a moment how she knew him, childhood friend perhaps, his Fathers seemed to have allot of friends.
and so came the time for a name. straitening his stance a bit... or at least dropping his shoulders, he turned his head back, eyes shifting up to study Sakura. he considered saying a fake name like he was going to before, but when he opened his mouth to speak, the only thing that came out was "Jayce"
scowling he tossed another rock hard candy in his mouth. "how do you know my father?" he asked as a side note glancing at Hùong, though the Question was directed at Sakura
