Profile.Xania

    User Image Name. Xania.
    Date of Release. o2-25-o6.
    Gender. Female.
    Race. Amazon.
    Era. Bronze Age.
    Play. A War Apart.
    Relations. n/a.

    Posting Color. Dark Orange.

Distinguishing Features. Long blonde hair. Dark tattoos around her eyes.
    Special Posessions. Bow and arrows

Personality. Xania is very quiet by nature, letting her actions speak rather than words. She is a very mysterious being, with layers on layers of secrets that one has to work at unraveling, only to find more secrets underneath.

She often wears a strange half-smile on her face, no matter the circumstance, which gives her the look of untouchable pride and joy in herself. She believes herself to be the most noble and most beautiful member of the Amazon tribe, although her beauty has turned her into the complete opposite – an outcast.

Her greatest dream is to rule the Amazons, and originally, she had planned to infiltrate the Greek army in order to overthrow the current queen of the Amazons and take her place herself. Like many of her other ambitions, she knows that this dream is simply one of many from her world of fantasies, and would never make a move to carry out any of her strange power-hungry plans.

Special Abilities. A very skilled fighter, excells as using her bow and arrows. Keen eyesight. Well-tuned to nature and its surroundings. Camouflage. Finding what she needs. Calming animals.

    Likes. Nature, Quietness, Power.
    Dislikes. Obnoxious Noise.

Play.Xania

    Play Name. A War Apart.

    Details.

Once again the Amazon, a tribe of ferocious female warriors, are at war with the Greeks. Although the Amazon and the Greeks had lived in peace for many years, the rumor of a Greek plot to ambush the warrior tribe in an attempt to eliminate the threat they posed to the safety of the great empire had spurred the warrior women into the war they were required by spoken law to always be training for. The play is set at the peak of the fighting, almost two years into the war. The Amazon warriors are tactical and ruthless in their each and every attack, proving the Greeks right to have considered them a major threat.

Although war has united the tribe into one mind with one common goal – to destroy the Greeks – the warriors of the tribe have always been judgmental and extremely closed-minded, even to one another. They believed that every Amazon should look a warrior, and nothing at all like the ladies of the Greek people.

One among the Amazon had been born with fair hair and the sculpted, slender looks of a beautiful and noble lady. Although a fierce and merciless warrior and more skilled with a bow and arrows than any warrior alive, her beauty brought criticism and disapproval from the others of her tribe. They believed her to be bad luck because she looked so uncannily like the women who lived with the Greek they were warring against. But the society of the warrior women is made up of strict laws and codes of conduct, which prevented them from kicking her out of the tribe as she had not sinned against these laws and she had been born an Amazon. The warrior woman’s splendor caused all the other women of her tribe to shun her. So trapped in their web of superstitions were they that they hardly dared to make eye contact, much less converse with her.

And so the shunned Amazon took to the forests, living off what she eventually learned to find from the leafy reaches of the trees and bushes. Lithe and agile, she learned to climb trees faster than the monkeys that inhabited the foliage, and often she would sit in her beloved trees and watch the Greek army men as they passed by below on their way to and from their war camp with the forest-dwelling animals she befriended. Her heart was bitter, for she had been shunned by her people, and she had nowhere to turn to. She took up residence within the forests, never participating in the wars and hardly returning to the tribe. None noticed she had all but disappeared, and if they had they said nothing in their relief.

And so the neglected warrior woman lived, and watched the every move of the Greek army men. They fascinated her greatly, and before long the inevitable happened – she fell in love. The man she had fallen in love with was part of the army. The enemy of her people, and when the Amazon queen found out, she exiled the fair outcast from the tribe.

Alone and entrapped by her bitter anger toward her people, the former Amazon warrior withdrew into the forests with her most prized possessions – her bow and arrows. She watched the Greek army day in and day out, and it was not long before she realized that the man who had captured her heart had not the slightly inkling of her existence. She was consumed by grief and lost the will to live. She had been abandoned by her tribe and the one thing she held dear in the world had no idea she was alive.

And the war raged on outside the enclosed forest world of the exiled Amazon. Summer spiked and passed and then followed an unusually dry fall. There was no rain for many weeks, and the yellowed leaves of autumn littered the floor like bits of kindling for a fire. It seemed the dried leaves called to the flames, for one afternoon, the forest fire that had threatened to strike for weeks hit the forest. The wildfire spread with the aid of the dead foliage, trapping the former warrior woman inside its fiery grasp. And so she would have died, had it not been for that same Greek army man that she so loved. He rescued her from the deadly grip of the flames and brought her to the temporary camp the army had set up to escape the fire.

She slept feverishly and without waking for many days for while she had not been scorched by the flames, she had breathed in much of the toxic smoke. The army man never once left her side, and when she finally did wake on the eighth day, he let her stay in his tent to recuperate. He felt himself slow, but surely, falling for the beautiful woman, whose true identity he did not know. When he found out that she was an Amazon, he was terrified for both his own life and hers. At the dead of the night, he brought her back to her beloved forest, which had already begun to heal itself from the fire. He brought her to a clearing in the forest and told her there to wait for him. That he would return for her when it was safe. It was a hollow promise, but she would wait an eternity for him if need be.

    Last Scene: A War Apart.
The inky night sky was pitch dark as two figures stole away from the sleeping camp. The moon was new, a dark space in the sky where its lonely crescent had once hung, and the stars were faded and pale. Neither lent any light to illuminate the way as Xania and her dearly beloved savior, the Greek soldier Apelitheus, galloped away from the sleeping soldiers on the back of a tall gray warhorse, whose coat was as whitewashed as the stars that clung to the heavens above. The night was silent and all was still, save for the dull thudding of the stallion’s hooves as they touched the ground and the dark silhouette of two people crouched over the horse’s back. The burly gray horse wore no saddle and no bridle, was it was galloping freely toward the one place it felt most as home – the forest.

Though it had only been days since the horrendous fire had all but burned the forest to the ground, Xania could see that nature’s wonder was already at work healing her beloved woodland. She could see where new buds were beginning to push through the charred bark of the trees, and here and there she could here the restless patter of paws on the smoke-blackened earth. This was where she belonged, where she truly felt at home, and even as Apelitheus reined their mount to a halt and lifted her from its back, she knew she had a genuine smile on her face. The former Amazon warrior’s amber eyes were ringed with black and her full lips were lined with red. She was a vision to behold in the light translucent clothing she wore, that easily reminded one of the ugly flames that had charred the forest they were in to a crisp.

As Xania’s eyes flitted left and right to take in the clearing Apelitheus had brought them to, lightly fingering her treasured bow, she heard him say something. Her gaze flickered back toward her beloved, and she tilted her head slightly. He understood, and repeated his words, “It’s not safe for you to be with me.” Xania tilted her head to the other side, frowning lightly at his words. Not safe? No, that could not be true. She would always be safe with him, no matter what. Apelitheus was her safety. But the soldier saw the expression in her eyes, and he shook his head. “You must stay here, Xania. Until it is safe enough. Then I will return for you. Wait for me.”

Xania hardly understood, but her love and trust for this Greek soldier she had watched for so long ran so deep that she simply nodded her head. She would do it, she would stay and wait for him, because that was all she could do. Without him, she was not complete. The warrior woman gaze locked onto that of her savior’s, her own two eyes brimming with so much love and trust for him that Apelitheus felt his heart might break in two. At the thought of his empty promise, he felt his willpower, his ability to leave the woman he had saved from the flames, begin to fade. He took a step back, and another, until he had reached the gray warhorse. Grabbing its wild mane, Apelitheus swung himself onto the stallion’s broad back, pulling it to face the other way. With a last look at Xania, he gave the charger a fierce kick, sending the gray horse into a gallop. And as they left the forest, he heard the beautiful Xania murmur something behind him. “I would wait an eternity for you…”

Acquaintances.Xania

Name. Date of Meeting. Thoughts.

Selior. o2-25-o7. He's a little strange, a somewhat intimidating aura, and just someone who one (or maybe just namely Xania) might not come to trust for sometime.
Muse. o2-25-o7. Xania finds Muse very interesting and has already taken a liking to the wordless woman.
Nicolai. o2-25-o7. He seems much nicer than Selior. Definitely.
