Li'ad Vor could easily pass as a brother, or even twin to Aitrus with a few exceptions. His cheekbones are slightly narrower and a bit longer than Aitrus', his hair is long and flowing silver, and his eyes are a pure metallic silver color that seem to glow softly from somewhere behind the actual eyes. He is usually found wearing all white or silver clothes with two swords carried across his back along with a shining pendant and bracelet with the symbol of a fang surrounded by an ice crystal on them.
Li'ad's true nature is actually a bit more complicated than a normal man. He is a young silver dragon taken on human form. In his world humans and dragons live by rules of strict separation. The dragons got tired of the other races making war among themselves so many times and dragging them into the fights, so they retreated to the most secluded parts of the mountains and informed the other races that they would have nothing to do with them anymore. All this was lead by a very large and powerful dragon named Ri'ad Vor, of the silver fang brood. Li'ad is one of the younger clutches sired by Ri'ad, and he got extremely bored up in the mountains. Occasionally a dragon will break this oath and leave their den, which usually means permanent banishment from the dragonkind. Li'ad took this path and spends most of his time in a human form, changing his appearance when he needs to. He encountered Aitrus in one of the towns as a small boy being harassed by soldiers because his eyes glowed and yet he was not a mage. Aitrus saw to it that the soldiers were properly disciplined for the stupidity and spoke to the boy, who decided he liked Aitrus and wanted to see what like was like on the battle front. He changed his appearance then and there to match the physical proportions of Aitrus, since he is now seen as the perfect champion, and joined into the first striking legion, combining his rudimentary knowledge of sword fighting with his mastery of ice as a silver dragon. In the last month of the wartime Aitrus and Li'ad came to be friends and would spend time speaking of non-combatant life when battles were not being fought.
In his dragon form Li'ad is approximately 30 feet tall from the ground to the top of his head, 45 feet long from his nose to his tail, and 60 feet long from wing tip to wing tip. He is also not like a normal dragon. The scales on his body are much brighter silver in color and many times thicker than a normal dragon, being of the armored dragon type. (The scales are extremely reflective and will even reflect all but extremely powerful magic back at the caster.)
The way armored dragons work
A normal female dragon will lay between 5 and 9 eggs in a single clutch, but in the primary blood line of the dragon clans there is a possibility that she will lay a single egg multiple times bigger than a normal egg. The dragon hatched from this primary egg is always male, and can only be born from the mating of an armored dragon and a powerful female. Not surprising, the armored males born in this way become the alpha males of the dragon clutch and take the most powerful of the females as their life mate and partner in ruling over the brood. The hatching of a primary egg usually only happens once in a ruling dragons long life, making the transition of power from the father to his armored offspring a natural thing. In Li'ad's case his father Ri'ad had already fathered another primary egg several clutches before, and being the second born of the armored brothers, Li'ad would inevitably be passed over for succession. This was one of the factors that lead to him leaving his brood.
