 The heavily pregnant dog wobbled towards the small den she had found, surrounded by tall grass and fairly well hidden. She had only found it by accident, and it was, in her mind, the perfect place for her puppies to be raised. She knew her time was soon, she could feel how restless they were inside her.
Once inside, Hamaki laid down with a sigh of relief. Carrying around babies all day was tough! Much harder than she had expected. She was nervous about being a mother, since there was only her to watch out for the youngsters, but she knew in her heart she would take good care of them.
Suddenly she yelped loudly and scrunched her face up in pain. She looked down at her stomach with worry in her eyes, the pups were here!

After a few minutes of pushing and groaning, the first baby made her way into the world. A young female, with hardly any color, yet just as beautiful as her mother, crawled around and sqeuaked for a few moments before being licked clean by Hamaki. She didn't have much time to admire the puppy, since shortly after she felt another burst of pain course through her stomach. The baby girl began to feed on mommy's milk, unaware that her brother would be joining her soon.
This one didn't take as long as the girl to be born, and Hamaki was grateful for it. He plopped onto the ground, and the new mother quickly licked him off. He stayed there for a moment, unsure of what to do. Yet another mostly black one, but with big white paws. He slowly made his way to his sisters side, not acknowqledging the other as they both began to feed again.
Hamaki smiled at them, then felt yet another one coming. She cringed as she laid back down. This one did not come out right, she saw his little bum sticking out before his head, but he quickly pushed himself free and fell to the ground. Hamaki almost gasped at how unlike his siblings this one was, pale green and striking black legs. He began scrambling over to Hamakis behind, trying to climb back into her warm tummy. She chuckled softly and cleaned him off, then set him beside his siblings. He began biting her foot, and she turned him in the right direction. He started eating greedily and Hamaki waited a few moments, hoping there would be no more arriving. And there wasn't. She sighed happily, although she was exhausted beyond belief. She had never felt such joy before now, as she gazed down at the children she brought into the world.

Yikes! It was -cold- out hereeeee!
It was the first official thought that Xerxes would have, this was followed by an attempt to return to wherever the nice safe place of 'warmth' was. This attempt was cut short, though, as he was licked clean and moved elsewhere, surrounded by moving bodies and... hey.. what was this?
Whatever it was, the green pup attempted to chew on it. It sure was.... well... fuzzy. He'd learn later that the fuzzy wasn't edible.
But something moved him towards an alternate food source.... he sniffed at it in a sort of investigating manner, before he latched to it and started to feed in a rather greedy manner, his tail taking a moment, in experimentation, to wag a bit.
He wasn't very good at wagging his tail yet, however.

The first thing Lolovivi experienced upon entering the world was warmth. Not of the environment, of course--there was actually rather a stiff chill outside. The warmth she felt was of her mother's tongue, licking her clean.
However, having arrived on the outside, Vivi began to feel... whatever the opposite of claustrophobic is. The space was just too open, too vast. Inside, she'd been nestled up close with her brothers, and surrounded by her mother. Out here, she was seperate from all. It made her feel rather desperately lonely. She tested out her little vocal chords by squeaking unhappily at this feeling. But she knew her mother was there, there because she had felt her, and she shuffled in the direction her mother had come from. Eventually, she came upon her mother's belly, and it was only upon arriving here that she realized the sensation of hunger in her, and instinct compelled her to nurse. She began to suckle carefully, and as her brothers were added beside her, she finally began to feel content. Her family was with her, and as long as they were with her, there was no reason to be unhappy.

Tulivuu was rather confused at his first taste of the world. He wondered what happened to that place of warmth he had been in for so long with his siblings. When he had filled his tiny belly with milk, he moved away from his mother for a moment, but then realized it was far too cold to be away from her side. He crawled back to her, trying to dig under her belly, and quickly fell asleep. He'd think about the world in the morning.
Hamaki smiled and cleaned off her the babies once more before resting her head down on the ground. She knew they wouldn't leave her side, and she fell into a deep state of sleep from exhaustion.

It should have been a normal sensation for Xerxes to feel tire, but, at the noise he heard from his sister, he too decided to give his vocals a good try, his little voice letting out a whine of helplessness as he pushed his paws about helplessly.
All he found was fur and the bodies of his family waiting to be pressed against. In fact, his sister's face made a pretty good target for the blind pup, whom, giving up to the fact that there would be nothing coming for him in the future, or rather not realizing such, also curled up, his tail resting across his snout.
Soon, he also followed his mother and brother into sleep, his little body inflating with each breathe he took in sleep.
So.. tired....

Though surrounded by her mother and her brothers, the cold was starting to get to Lolovivi. She nursed hungily for some time, and soon her belly was full of pleasantly warm milk and her ears were full of the gentle noises of her family about her. Again she felt her mother's tongue on her, briefly, and she squeaked happily at her presence.
Her mother drew away from her, though, and the noises faded as one by one, her family members drifted to sleep. With everyone else gone quiet, Lolovivi figured the best thing to do was sleep as well. The stress of being born had exhausted her, and sleep was something she had yet to try. She wiggled up along her mother's body, crawled between her forelegs, and decided to sleep there.
