The sun was hanging low in the sky as the day was coming to an end. Brychan looked up from his grazing to watch as the sky lit up in varying colors of orange, reds, and yellows. A gentle smile came to his muzzle as the sunset's light reflected in his deep blue eyes.
Another day was coming to an end, and soon the sky would be dark and filled with the many pin pricks of light, known as stars. Then the moon would rise and add to the glorious sight.
Watching the sunset reminded him of a certain hind, the favored in his harem. The one whose pelt was the color of the sky, as it was now. How lucky he had been to have such a hind stand with him. He was of course, thinking of Loreena. The stag turning his head to seek out the lovely female among those that were supposedly nearby. Anlach would be ending well in his favor, even if he just had the three of them. Especially the lovely, Loreena.

She grazed quietly among the softly fading light, in the company of her new sisters whome she felt compelled to remain close to, in the need of company that she was so used to. though her voice was silent, her mind buzzed with thoughts of Bold Brychan, and the dream of there Faun , if it was Herne will that she should bare any this Anlach. but the Hopes kept her satisfied for the moment. even if she could not give Brychan an offspring this Anlach, she was Honored to have been asked into his Herem.
satisfied in her Grazing, she lifted her head, eyes scanning around for Brychan, and to find him standing alone as he always did, though he was not scanning for rival Herla, and predators, nor grazing. he was looking over, and watching them graz. the corners of her lips softened, ears lowering back as she gently started towards him. "where has your mind wandered Dearest" she said quietly as she stopped infront, looking lovingly up at into his Strong blue eyes.

And there.. she had noticed his gaze. Brychan's soft, warm smile lighting up his features as she approached and spoke to him. She had been the first he met, during the dead of winter. Why had he chosen her as his favored hind? Was it because she was the first in his harem? Or was it something more?
"Oh... not far" he said with a low rumbling tone, gentle and kind. "My thoughts dwell with you and the others. I only hope I am a stag worthy of such find hinds." Perhaps it was love that fluttered around in his heart and mind, or maybe just the hormonal effects of Anlach. One really couldn't be sure, but Brychan knew that he had been on a sort of high in recent days. He felt as if he could walk on air.

she let an ear fall forward bashfully, clearly flattered by his words, she stretched her neck out, and sweetly nuzzled her nose on his cheek. "none could be as grad my dearest. I see the other Hind, green with there wishes of standing on the land beneath my hooves"
be it her innocent nature, or perhaps the countless stories she heard from the herd's story teller as a fawn. but by chance, or fate, she ended up standing with the first Stag she ever met, and one, whom had protected her from the threat of starvation during the winter. she could not help but find something mystic about that, her heart almost hurt with the feelings she had for this Stag. if that was normal or not, she was not entirely sure.

Be it normal or not, it was certainly a blessing. Brychan practicly glowed from the words that came from Loreena's slender mouth. His ears turning forward and back again. "Surely I could not deserve you or such kind words" he said with light laughter in his voice. The nuzzle being returned in full to the rust colored hing with the white markings beneath her eyes.
There had been an element of fate when they had first met, hadn't there? When he found her struggling to get bark from trees that had been nearly stripped bare, to the point of it being out of her reach. He would do it again, and many times to come. There was something special about a friendship made outside of the season, and carried forth into Anlach. While Loreena was his favored, he did care for all three a great deal. But there was just something special about this one hind.

Both ears forward now. she smiles brightly at Brychan "oh my, if your not careful, I'll grow more of an ego then Pride" she said playfully. she had not met that particular Stag before. but he was a Stag talked about by the other Hind, a Stag Loreena had no interest in.
Standing close to him. enjoying the sound of his breathing, and warmth of his dark coat. she looked up at the sky as well. "I hope it is a warm night" she breathed, letting her head drift closer to his chest, taking in his comfortable sent. letting her eyes close, leaning against him as she relaxed her stance.

Ears turned forward attentively and he laughed, which reverberated in his chest. "Ah... that brailah who tries to fight wolves" he shook his head at the memory, having been a distant observer of that particular incident. Pride probably should have died that day, but it seems his stubbornness had saved him. But that hardly mattered as he realized that Loreena was leaning against him, her head near his chest.
He looked down, and she could probably hear his heart beating a little faster. Tail flickering lightly behind him. Craning that maned neck downward, he pressed his nose between her ears and nuzzled her softly. Placing a light lick of his tongue on against the back of an ear as well.

"humm" she sighed distractedly. not caring about the other Stag, there was only room for one Stag in her mind. ears filled with the beating of his heart, feeling the blood flowing though her own, in the excitement she felt about being around him.
she turned her face up at the feel of his lick, sliding her face against his, letting out a content sigh. "I do not wish for Anlach to end" she said softly to him. she didn't like the Idea of not having him by her side.

Brychan rubbed his face back against hers in affection, his eyes closing briefly as he simply enjoyed the moment with the lovely hind. However, her words brought his ears forward again and deep blue eyes opened to look to her quietly.
"Nor do I... but that is Herne's way." The stag smiled gently, nudging her in reassurance. "I will still be here, and we can talk occassionally. Then Anlach will come against before you know it." He hoped that his words would do her well. "I also hope that we have some fine calves and fawns, together."

she let one of her ears droop to the side again, grinning bashfully at the thought of there young ones again. "it is the wisdom of Herne." she said, nodding to his words to show that she understood "but I can not help but feel worry if you wander from the senses of my eyes. and dwell on worry for you're safety"
she felt a swell of hope, feeling in that moment, that she dearly hoped they did had a calf, for that way, she would be able to raise a fine offspring for him to be proud of. since in this life, that would be the best thing she could do to honor his devotion to protecting the Herd, with out complaint. "I hope for a little one as well," she said quietly, blushing a little at the taught of a calf or fawn

"I'm touched that you're so concerned...." he said honestly, nuzzling the hind gently once more. "I will do my best to stay safe, I promise." She was so kind, understanding, and just everything that a stag could hope for in a hind. Constantly reminding him how incredibly lucky he was.
His heart practicly soared as she told her wishes for a calf as well. He truely wanted to have some calves and fawns. Ones with her beauty and his strength. "Herne willing my dear... I'm sure if it happens, that will be among the best in the herd."

She took a moment, letting her mind and feelings wander, comforted by the presence of Brychan at her side. guiding her eyes out along Brychan's territory, coming to rest on Brychan's other Hind, her sisters, as she had grown to call them. she knew that they would make good mothers as well, different in there ways, but none the less. as much as she wished, prayed, for a Calf for Brychan, she also hoped that they would get young of there own to care for. finally, she turned her gaze to the sky, watching the colors turn to deep blues and purples.
(sorry, thats the best I can do *has been working on this for an hour >.>;; I'm way to tired. I'll try and fix it up in the morning if its to awkward to reply to)

Naturally, he too hoped that the others, Rhomae and Telyn would have calves as well. Anlach was an exciting time of year, but perhaps moreso was when the calves and fawns were born afterwards. While he wouldn't be providing much of the parental care, if any when they were young, he could only hope that he would be a good father to them as they grew older. Especially to the calves, since his advice and experience as an outrider would be most valuable to them.
As Loreena turned to look at the sky, his gaze followed as the sun grew dimmer in the sky. Night was quickly appoaching as twilight settled in. "Whenever I see the sunset, I think of you."

turning away from the sky, she glances back at Brychan, "that is quite a complement" she said, honored by his words "to have something as beautiful as a Sunset inspire thoughts of me" bashfully, she looks at the ground, pawing a hoof though the grass. "and I have to admit... I am not lonely during the nights anymore, for when I look up at the sky, I am reminded of you"
she did feel a bit embarrassed saying that. but she was comfortable with Brychan. and she was sure, that he would not laugh at her for such a thing. besides, he had said Sunsets reminded him of her. how wonderful, for her to have a smiler expirence with Night, and she felt like she wanted to share it

Brychan's eyes practicly sparkled at her returned words, wondering if what he felt could actually be love. He's never felt any sort of affection toward any one herla before, except perhaps his mother. He was fond of Loreena, that much was certain and he did not regret making her his favorite. All the hinds in his harem were loyal, but she seemed especially so. Loreena atleast, was not making plans to blindly rush off into the wilds to explore. No... she did not seem that type, and hopefully she wasn't. He wanted and needed someone to stay and stand by his side.
"It makes me happy to hear you say that. Now I don't feel quite so foolish" he said with a light chuckle and a gentle nudge to her neck. "I too, no longer feel lonely. I am truely the luckiest stag in all the herd." He fell silent for a few moments, simply looking at her with that star struck expression. One that spoke of deep feeling for the hind that was next to him. "I hope that you will stand by my side for many Anlachs to come."
