[rules]
1. Do not post here unless you are one of the following: ~ Dr. Amelia ~ DivineSaturn ~ Vale of Earth staff ~ another Vale of Earth observer ~ someone with permission from me ~ dropping off a gift (in which case it should only be one post)
2. Please do not ask to buy my Vale of Earth child. She is not for sale. Go stalk the Vale of Earth thread.
3. Please do not ask to buy or have first dibs on my specimen's offspring. a) I have no idea when she'll grow up, or b) if she'll be successful in courting a mate. Besides, I'm not about to be bought off. I don't know what I'll be doing with any possible future offspring. I'll decide if and when it happens.
4. Please do not ask me if/when babies are available. I have no clue. Go stalk the Vale of Earth thread.
5. Please do not continually PM me about any of the above, or playdates, etc. My inbox is rather full from other things. If you really want to ask about visiting, etc. please try and catch me in the Vale of Earth thread before PMing me.
The Vale of Earth concept, background, and artwork (c) Natsube and Uennie. No stealy. This particular specimen is mine. No stealy.

[white clover]
White Clover (Trifolium repens) is a species of clover native to Europe, North Africa, and West Asia. It has been widely introduced elsewhere in the world as a pasture crop.
It is a herbaceous perennial plant. It is low growing, with heads of whitish flowers, often with a tinge of pink or cream. The heads are generally 1.5-2 cm wide, and are at the end of 7 cm peduncles or flower stalks. The leaves are trifoliolate, smooth, elliptic to egg-shaped and long-petioled. The stems function as stolons, so white clover often forms mats with the stems creeping as much as 18 cm a year, and rooting at the nodes.
White clover grows in turfgrass, crops, and landscapes. It is also found in a wide range of different field type environments. White clover can tolerate close mowing. It can grow on many different types and pHs of soil, but prefers clay.
Besides making an excellent forage crop for livestock, clovers are a valuable survival food: they are high in protein, widespread, and abundant. They are not easy to digest raw, but this can be easily fixed by boiling for 5-10 minutes. Dried flowerheads and seedpods can also be ground up into a nutritious flour and mixed with other foods. Dried flowerheads also can be steeped in hot water for a healthy, tasty tea-like infusion.
Before the introduction of broad-leaf herbicides, white clover was often added to lawn seed mixes, as it is able to grow and provide green cover in poorer soils where turfgrasses do not perform well. It is now generally considered a weed when growing in lawns, in part because the flowers are attractive to bees and thus create a danger for people with bare feet.

[timeline of events]
March, 2007: Applied for a position at Vale of Earth Laboratories. They seem to be doing interesting research relating to botany and biology. March 25th, 2007: Was appointed an Observer, and put in charge of a Specimen. She is a White Clover, and thus I have named her Eirinn. I was also forced to take a short leave of absence from D-Corp in order to work on this project. April 12th, 2007: Visited the rainforest section, and met my first fellow researcher, Ithe, and his charge, Leilani. She appears to be some type of tropical plant, and was quite at home in the setting. Eirinn seemed to like her. April 20th, 2007: (backdated) Visited the desert section, and found that Eirinn strongly dislikes arid surroundings. May 1st, 2007: While taking Eirinn to another section, met Researcher Kitten and her charge, Seveda. This older specimen took a liking to Eirinn, and it is my hope that she will be able to babysit sometimes so that I may return to work at D-Corp. Also recieved an invitation to visit the new Darwin Wing.

[biotic interactions]
Observer Ithe and Leilani: An innocuous pair. The Observer appeared powerful at first, however now he seems entirely mundane and useless. The Specimen, some sort of tropical flower, was silent. However, she and Eirinn appeared to get along, and neither seems to be a cause for alarm.
Observer Kitten and Seveda: A less innocuous pair. While the Specimen is obedient and may be of use in the future, especially when it comes to watching Eirinn. Researcher Kitten may pose a problem, and I must remember to appear especially polite when concerning her. However, an invitation to a new wing and the possibility for further research is more than compensation for a moment's embarrassment.

[family records]
[insert mahou profile here] Eirinn's oldest "sibling" is Anoki Kenelm, a human/ibex hybrid created by an organization known as D-Corp. One could consider him the product of my first job, and Eirinn the product of my second. Despite the boy's faults, Eirinn is extremely fond of him, and is often more attentive when he is around. She has yet to meet Myung-Ki, his dragon partner. If Anoki and Eirinn are my "work" projects, Isvara and Bian are my personal research projects. Nearly always fighting, the two are each insufferable in their own way, and I often leave minding them to Mahou. Eirinn has met them only briefly, and displayed a preference for the more serene Isvara, as opposed to the violent Bian.
While Eirinn has not met them, Eirinn has one "brother" and two "sisters" at Raven's residence in Aekea. Information regarding them will be filled in when they pay their first visit.

[home away from home]
Laboratory #06 is sparsely furnished as of yet. There is little more than the necessary equipment and a folding crib inside at the moment. When Raven has ample chance to settle in, she will doubtless begin adding her own touches, and more exotic, even magical, equipment and supplies.
Apartment #5 at D-Corp is far more lavish. Having lived there for over a year, Raven has had ample opportunities to spread her influence. While labelled an apartment, it is quite large, consisting of four bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a small series of workrooms. These last additions may be enchanted however, as when one walks along the outside of the unit, the wall sharply ends where the workshops should begin.
Each of the bedrooms is currently occupied: One by Raven herself, one by her assistant Mahou, one by her charge Anoki Kenelm and his dragon Myung-Ki, and the last by twins who emerged from a relic and found themselves as research subjects, Isvara and Bian. There is also a small gathering of animals present: not only Myung-Ki, but a Raven's small dragon companion, Kyrie, a griffin named Harkaitz, and several unnamed animals used in Raven's spells.
The apartment is generally tidy, especially in the common areas. Bookshelves line many of the walls, and shelves and tables display unusual trinkets and ornate fixtures, most of which look either antique or magical, or perhaps both. Several books lie open on the table in the living room, other closed, marked with ribbons or feathers or whatever is handy.
Eirinn has yet to see this place. Perhaps, however, when she is older, and Raven is more secure in her dual alliance...

Baby: ___The fruit has 'given birth', and opened up to reveal an average sized baby. The child is odd-looking, and is as delicate if it was born from a human mother. Perhaps additional care and inclusion in personal events in your life will help? The more attention you give your charge, the more it will mold itself to your personal preferences.
Growth Requirements Must be a Baby for at least 2 weeks. 1 Journal RP Entry (from the Baby or Caretaker's perspective). 1 Thread RP Entry (from the Baby or Caretaker's perspective).
