I need your advice on a very personal and moral decision. As most of you hopefuly know, no reputable breeder sells their pets to pet stores, puppy mills and back yard breeders are the main source for all these puppies. And of course these people are all profiting off of the repruduction of these animals while THOUSANDS of pets die needlesly in shelters every day. But what if you could work for one? What if you had the opertunity to work for a pet store?
I have that opertunity. My brother's girlfriend works for a pet store called Nature. She plan on quiting soon. The above reason being only part of it. And I could bring in my c.v and I have a good chance of getting the job because of knowing her and my experience working with animals.
Now I am COMPLETLY agaisnt pet stores. But, I'm seriously considering working there. A sort of, working from inside the system idea. Educate the people who come in (we don't have to push any one to buy.) And we're allowed to take the puppies home at nights and on weekends. This way I could socialize the puppies. This pet store is going to keep running and selling dogs no matter what. But if I took the job I could try to socialize the dogs and educate the people that come in and hopefuly that will give the dogs a better chance at a good home and a good life. But then again, maybe it's just greed making excuses. Who wouldn't want amazing discounts on food and toys and to work with animals all day and take home puppies with them.
I don't know what to do. Please, I need you advice.

Id say go for the job.
1. its a job. 2. like you said you can educate people who come in.
Im just glad its illigal to sell puppies in stores here. I'd Go mental at the shop. sweatdrop Plus people who most likely buy them only want them because they are 'cute' at the time and when that cute factors gone they just dump them. ¬_¬;

Right. And look at it like this: If you really don't approve of this job [While working, etc.] and just don't like it, then you can always quit. 3nodding

I love pet stores!! its only the ones that sell puppies that gets to me. But i dont shop there, i go to petsmart. They only have adoption days, so there coming from the ASPCA snd not a puppy mill. But i think you should take the job, and if all else fails, quit.

I would not work there. Ever. If I refuse to go into one, how could I work? Besides, if everyone refused to work there, they wouldn't be able to stay open. Period. And I am unwilling to help a petstore that sells puppies in any way.
