Post songs that you know that are about Warhol or his factory members. I know a lot but I'd really like to hear some more and maybe everyone else might be interested in these songs.

I know Andy Warhol by David Bowie, tons and tons of Lou Reed songs, and the Songs for Drella album by Cale and Reed.

Also, some songs about Edie, or atleast thought to be about her, are Like A Rolling Stone, Just Like A Woman, and Leopard-Skin Pillbox Hat by Bob Dylan.

yeah, I knew like a Rolling Stone was about Edie.
Femme Fatale was written about her too.

and then Take a Walk On The Wild side is about all those people from The Factory.

but I dunno much else.

Indeed, I think its either the diplomat who carried with hima siamese cat, or napolean in rags who represents andy. And of course the most famous Andy Warhol song by David Bowie.
And I've never heard thier music, but I'm guessing the band the Dandy Warhols might have something to do wtih Andy Warhol.

Also, the Cult have a song called Edie (Ciao Baby), its not about Andy per se, but I think its clear who its about

"Dime Store Mystery (To-Andy, Honey) by Lou Reed maybe not directly about him, but maybe.

I agree, that song is so amazing. It's fun to sing along with too razz

Speaking of songs about people, and, speficially, Dylan songs about people, I always had heard that Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands was about Joan Baez.

It is directly about Andy, about his death and funeral.

The biggest piece of art about Andy is obviously Lou Reed and John Cale's Songs For Drella LP, the concept album they wrote about Andy's life in 1990. It's a wonderful album, you must listen to it if you haven't already!! Music's obviously great, and each song's an amazing portrait of Andy.

Do young girls call you the Diamond Dog? ; )

There's also the song Vicious from Lou Reed's Transformer album; Andy asked Lou to write it, he told him to write a song called 'Vicious' and gave him the first verse 'you hit me with a flower'
PostPosted: Tue Jul 17, 2007 6:10 pm

theres another song on transformer about him..
idk. I know its a really pretty one, and hes like, "yeah, I'm not going to explain it. Its about how I felt when Andy was shot. It was a love song"

surprised

Andy's Chest probably? Andy was shot in the chest, and the lyrics of the song are pretty unexplainable (: I love this one, it's one my faves from Transformer
