Gory, or gore = lots of blood/guts/arms chopped off kinda stuff.
I CAN'T read scary stuff. It gives me nightmares. And I'm 23, how pathetic is that? xd

>> Only the blackest of heartsMy mother is a J-Horror fan, after seeing every Takashi Miike film in existence, I have grown completely immune to all forms of violence and psychological twistedness (also helps that she made me watch the Shining when I was four...). I like HP Lovecraft and Stephen King the best Can feel the purest of love <<

I can't say I'm a horror or thriller fan. I like to be thrilled but books just don't do it for me, I'd rather go paintballing or Airsofting to get my adreneline going, nothing inspires excitement like the aspect of getting shot at it!
I like Steven King (I'm not sure if he spells his name with a "v" or a "ph"), Dragon Tears was AWESOME, but my 5th grade teacher told me to read something else because she thought it was too advanced for me to understand it. So I read the Mortal Kombat novel for half the silent reading that DT for the rest, I was sooo clever, not really.

Yeah, I'm really not a horror/thriller book fan. I've just never read one that struck me as being all that good.

Kraggus Doomhammer I'm a huge Lovecraft fan, a couple of my favorites by him are At the Mountains of Madness and The Colour Out of Space My favorite stories by H.P. Lovecraft include The Dreams in the Witch-House, The Thing on the Doorstep, The Hound, Cool Air, The Call of Cthulhu, and The Festival, as well as his novel At The Mountains of Madness. Good choices, by the way!

Mine is "The Meg" by Steve Alten. If you liked Jaws, then you'll love this book.

VerbumX Anne Rice is one of my all time favorites! The Vampire Chronicles. I've been meaning to read that for a long while but I can't find it anywhere. T.T
I love Stephen King, though Cujo wasn't nearly as scary as I hoped it would be. Sort of disappointing. Firestarter was very thrilling though, I couldn't put it down.

KrystalFish Mine is "The Meg" by Steve Alten. If you liked Jaws, then you'll love this book. I just picked up the paperback edition from a library book sale. I'm looking forward to reading it once I get through the half-dozen other books piling up on my bookshelves...
