When naming characters & filling out highscores?
When I was younger I'd use my own name & in cases like Battle of Olympus, the name of my crush. I now give characters their proper name, when they don't have one I look at a list of names I've collected over the years & choose one that feels right with what class I'm putting the character in. Sometimes I'll use a random name generator.
For highscores I use my first name or my initials since you usually only have three spaces, when there was room for a longer name I used to use Phoenix but now I use Reaper. XP I'm even redoing weapon master mode on both copies of Soul Calibur 2 so that I can use my new name. Sad, I know. XD xD

I use my initials for high scores, I'm highly unoriginal. In games, I mostly let the characters keep their own names... although the first time I played FFVII, I renamed Cloud as TJ (don't ask) and Cait Sith as Cool Fur. I found it easier with keeping their own names when I talk to other gamers so I know what is being talked about. In games that need a username, I use Elowar.

I haven't got any regular male names I use but the female ones I like are Tallia, Faichand & Faelamor. They come from an Ian Irvine series of books.

I just use my initials for leaving high scores and any more I use default names. When I was younger, I always used to name my RPG male heroes "Alex" for my boyfriend, but that was a long time ago. For games with no default names, in recent past, I've used the names: Arc, Yuki, and Will.

Usually on a RPG game with a serious, or deep plot line I use the default name. Though on games like Harvest Moon or on Super Smash Brothers I carefully think out names or intials. I actually have a list of common ones in my mind, though depending on the setting it will be tweaked or even a new one might be created. I like making new unusual names. ^_^
TG, Tiger or Tigergirl is something I commonly use on my games. Though the pattern isn't sticking anymore. On MMORPGs I tend to use names apporiate for that particular game. If I'm wanting to roleplay on a serious server, then I'll pick a very unusal name. If its all
Only time I ever use my actual intials is for a highscores game that everyone will play, thus I have the ability to go "Yeah that is really my score!"

For initials, I use DM.
Like most, I keep the character names the same when they have a default. It does make it a bit hard to communicate with other people, unless it's a game I'm borrowing from someone, and there is a save file with the default name (like on most Zelda games) In that case, I use Di or Seraph. In Diablo (2) or RP's I tend to get creative. My favorite Char. on Diablo 2 is a sorceress named Seragore, and I have a Paladin named Aldeberan. I've taken to naming characters after stars lately. whee

If its a guy i always use Matt or Mathew because hes my favorite original character. If its a girl I usually use the shortened version of my name, Meg.

In RPGs I almost always use the default name. If not, then I use Kurai.
Except I remember for my first Pokemon Yellow game I named Ash Smarty, and Gary was Stupid. That was when I was about six or seven, though.
And for high scores, I use my initials. ^^;;

Usually for highscores and games I use my nickname Shinoka.
For RPGs, I do the same thing but if it were a guy I'd think up a random japanese name and put it there.

I use whatever name comes to my mind at the moment. If a name sticks, I continue using it, otherwise it doesn't really matter to me. burning_eyes burning_eyes

for character names I usually just use the real names.. but otherwise I'll use Akiyhrah, or AKI for highscores
