These people.... The rodent thought bitterly as he strolled nonchalantly threw the bike path of the park. Rocks shifting under his feet. He was there all the time no matter what the weather. And they where here only on the sunny days. What about the other days? No one seemed to care of the park on stormy days. Or cold days. Or even when it's considered too hot.
The rodents ear's pressed back, he didn’t care to hear the whispers around him, passing couples mocking him because of the fact he was bare foot. The mouse snarled, though his face was hidden behind his bangs. I don’t care what they think...I don’t care. He kept repeating to himself, he could 'see' that many of the people around him where paired off, in groups. All with someone, he tried to lie to himself. Tell himself he didn’t need anyone. But in his heart, he knew what he truly wanted.
The boy turned abruptly, and sauntered into the grasses that surrounded the lake that centered the park. The grasses tickled his ankles, as he trekked onward. Rising his head slightly, to better take in the warmth of the sun, a slight smile pressed on his lips. Blank, clouded eyes stared at the sky. Taking in a breath of air, he sighed contently, the sweet scent of spring filled him. Flowers that dotted the hillside, he could smell each distinct flower. Lillies, buttercups and daisies. He could 'see' more than a person with 20/20 vision, he could enjoy the flowers, the breeze, all what others took for granted.
Toph could 'see' that he was approaching the lake quickly, and was slightly relived that it was partially disserted, with few people scattered about.

Today was a lovely day, the kind of day that would have driven Finn to distraction. The kind which baffled him when Aang decided to study his arcane martial arts. But the boy enjoyed the more meditative arts, the ones that heightened his sense of his surroundings as well as himself.

He felt the wind brush by his bald pate and fuzzy ears teasingly, as if taunting him, cajoling him to play. He listened as it brought the music of songbirds as they called to one another across the distances. From one tree to another they cried, and the boy tried to put names and pictures to the song, as well as distance between. What are they to one another, he wondered, friend or foe? Were they really warning rivals off as he had always been taught, or were they discussing the weather and catching up on gossip, as he liked to imagine?

The wind brought another sound to him as it brought the perfume of early springtime blooms: the soft footfalls of a barefoot individual. Like Toph, Aang had noticed that most people out today were with friends. It was only natural to want to share a good time on days like this. But unlike Toph, he did not exactly feel alone. Noting the rat-boy's direction, a lake, Aang grinned toothily and went back to the languid movements of his routine.

Trekking down the hill Toph stopped once reaching the shore of the lake. The shore line was covered in smooth pebbles, the rocks warming the souls of his feet, each step closer he took towards the watery surface the cooler the rocks became. Though he was content where he was. The rocks made it abit difficult to see, not as fuzzy as sand....or as blurry as water, but still....difficult. He was certain a pair of joggers were making there way off back onto the trial, so he thought it safe to try his routine. Slowly rising his arms from his sides Toph held his hands in fists, then releasing his fingers he let each finger dangle loosely before straightening them. His motions where slow, planned out, he needed silence for concentration, which he poured all his energy into. He still was learning, and practice makes perfect they say...
Toph stomped at the ground, sending a clear pulse threw the surrounding area, as the vibrations bounced back he could see all of the tiny rocks that surrounded him on the shoreline, then honing in on one that sat a few feet away he took in a breath of air before slowly exhaling it. Rising his outstretched arm that was held in the direction of the rock he began to rise his arm further. He muscles began to take a burning sensation as the weight of the small rock pulled against his arm, but he soon realized after awhile the rock had drifted from his sight, stomping on the ground again he could see that the rock was most likely aloft in the air. The boy broke into a smirk and grew new found energy, bringing back his arm just as slowly as when he rose it, the rock mirrored his movements and stayed suspended directly beneath his open palm. He stood there, breathing in...breathing out. Breathing in, he held his breath, then with a forceful shove forward with his arm he let the air in his lung release along with the pebble. Toph stood silently, waiting to catch the faint vibrations from the lake. Though the lake blurred his vision he could slightly pick up some movement and smiled contently as he counted off five skips.

Aang continued his routine, dancing to the melodies provided by the people nearby and by the rest of nature. Fingers swung upward from the ground to reach almost longingly for the sky then drop back down again with determined forcefulness as his feet skipped a couple steps before he cartwheeled and spun through the air.

Eventually the young rabbit tired - winded, to venture a bald-faced and cliched pun. Hot sweat beaded and rolled freely from his shaved pate while his narrow chest rose and fell rhythmically, gusts of air spinning from his mouth like a flurry of tops. Yes, this too became a focus of his studies and eventual mastery of his strongest element.

His arms spun a larger ball of gyroscopic air, a glassy planetiod the size of a child's bouncy-ball. One effortless hop later and he was balancing on air with his toes, a moment after that he was speeding through the grass in a zig-zag pattern. Heavy breathing had become a hindrance to his progress so in order to use this to his advantage he changed his goal to backward movement. Deep breaths became his propulsion, lungs working like a bellows as the swelled and expelled their exhaust. Only by chancing furtive glances over his shoulder was he able to keep an eye on his progress as he fed fuel into his spherical "wind wheel." But his cycle of glancing, feeding, balancing and steering were cumbersome and he decided to try something else. He used the cushion of air as a spring board then twisted his body and swung his arms, that motion and another gust of wind to spin him around.

But with his landing the wheel bounced, the rabbit bounced, and both veered down the hill heading for the lake.

All of this was exilirating to the adventurous lad and several times he expressed it with an exuberant "Woah!" or "Whee!" or "This is great!" No doubt his cries caught the attention of everyone within earshot, at least for a moment. Of course when one sees "some goofy kid" being silly (even a bald one with blue tattoos and big, floppy blue ears), whether he is skateboarding or spinning on a wind-powered ball of... air... they tend to roll their eyes and go on their merry way.

Blades of grass whipped and dust clouds puffed in the midst of a tiny tornado as Aang passed over the ground, first down the slope, then across the walkway and on the short distance left to the water's edge. The rabbit finally gained control of the top and purposely aimed for the lake. What a perfect place to end up after a long practice! He skipped over the water's surface similarly to Toph's stone from before, but instead of five skips only made three before the ball's energy gave out and the rabbit hit the water with a sliding splash.

Aang rose to the surface with a gush of air and water droplets. "WAHH!" This water is cooold! He wore a huge grin as he splashed a little more, having a wonderful time before wading back to shore. "That was fun!" he laughed to nobody in particular before shaking off, another gust of wind helping disperse any errant droplets from fur, skin, or clothing.
