It was a brillant day. The sky was painted a vibrant blue with only a few fluffy white clouds floating by in the warm spring breeze. Ahanu nosed his way out of the teepee and without a backward glance ran to the edge of the clearing. It was too nice a day to sit around the teepee listening to his parents talk.
He loved them very much, but adults were boring and his siblings were still asleep. So if Ahanu was to have some fun it would be up to him to find it.
A voice he recognized as his mothers called out..."Ahanu don't go too far. It can be dangerous out in the woods alone."
"I won't go too far." The brown and sandy colored colt promised as he headed out into the brush. What a wonderful day to explore. He couldn't wait to see what he would find first.
