i've found a new place!!

it's called Menewsha i love it! it's a teeny tiny version of Gaia, all shiny and new, and friendly with no n00bs and you can change your hair as much as you like!

so i apologise for being a neglectful captain redface i shall make an effort to see to my duties here and look after my faithful few, i really do appreciate you people you know! heart

which is why i'm telling you about Menewsha because i think some of you would like it cool

if you fancy having a look do! come and find me! it isn't hard because it really is small, i'm member number 1430 lol the GD there only has 22 pages to its forum at the moment ninja which is one of the things that makes it so appealing right now.

tomorrow i shall get in here and pay up the poker prizes and do some posting, as of now i'm off to bed..

I've been there, too. There are more things that I dislike than like about it, and I've stopped going there. *feels ungrateful now* Thank you anyway, Jelly, and I hope you continue to enjoy it over there, and that we still see you around here! wink biggrin

You have to admit that's a pretty close ripoff of Gaia, Jelly. Just looking at the home page, the Header is reminiscent of the Header so many older Gaians complain they want back, & there is a collectible item advertised & an Avatar Spotlight with avatars that are posed a lot like & greatly resemble (aside from less skilled artwork) Gaian avatars.
They need to be more original, like, if you could have animal avatars. That would be cool! whee

it is very similar, i like how the avies look though.

i think the sites only been running for 4 months or so, and the kid who runs it has been on Gaia in the past.

so i wouldn't be suprised if he set it for the exact reasons that i would, to get away from the n00bs on here.

it's certainly working at the moment too, the no spam/bumping rule creates forums full of conversation biggrin

having been over there almost exclusively for the past 4 days i have pretty much done everything now though, as there are only just over 1500 members at the moment, i've posted in all the threads that interest me and now i wont be spending so much time there each time i'm online, because there isn't so much to respond too.

i've signed up for 2 other sites too..Zantarni and Halcyon Tears, just out of interest really, i like to see the different ideas people have for these sites, with how the avatars are going to look and so on, the ones on Halcyon Tears are cool! Zantarni's look like ugly Gaians emo

There are going to be more & more copycats, & I think at some point Gaia will begin weeding out the ones too exact, like this Menewsha one. I think it's main difference is saying, "we'll let you do some stuff Gaia won't & make the site look a lot like it used to look!" Competitors need a really original twist, like maybe setting theirs in space & everybody can choose from a selection of alien types what they will be, or some such.
