Today I was talking about my beloved Freddie with a girl I work with. After a while of sharing my Freddie knowledge with her, she look at me and said... " I'm glad you're too young to remember Freddie's death, I don't know if you could handle it. What would you do? "
So my question to all of you is ~ What would you do if Freddie were to die today, or if you were old enough to remember when he died.
I honestly have no idea.

i think people in general would react quite like they did with Anna Nicole Smith, and i would be upset about it. i'd get very annoyed with what the tabloids would do to him. But personally, i would listen to "The Show Must Go On" every time i got upset and know that he's in Rhye. And, of course, as i do whenever anybody dies, hug my friends and family closer and be glad that i have them.

Fairy Feller Fancy Honestly, I'd just go on with life as it is. xd Same for me. razz I dunno... maybe I just don't have as much of a "connection" to Freddie as other people do. ninja Like when Brad Delp died recently, it didn't really shock me or anything, though I was somewhat surprised since he was only 55. The fact that it was suicide was a little more jarring, but it didn't exactly depress me or anything, terrible as it sounds. If some musician I really admired, though, I could see it getting me down and such.

Ok, since no one seems to care, I'll change the question a bit. confused What would you do if any memeber of Queen died today?

I think it would depend on who it was... For instance, if Roger passed away, I seriously think a little piece of me would die with him. He's had such a strong influence on how I carry myself and how I feel about myself as a person...

Personally, I would care a lot if Freddie died today. He's one of my biggest influences when it comes to my outlook on life, and my incentive to work hard on improving my art skills. What's more is that if he were around in the current time, the "connection", so to speak, would probably be much bigger than how it at this moment in real-life. So it would affect me. And when I think about how I wish Freddie didn't have to die so young, I -really- don't want to see any of the other members of Queen die. D:
Queen's music has had a great affect on me as well, and if it weren't for Brian, John, and Roger, along with Freddie of course, Queen would not be complete, and an amazing band would never have existed. I'm rambling now, so I'll get to the point. They were all equally important, and though Freddie will always be my favorite, I would be down and such about any of their deaths.

If Roger died suddenly, I'd probably be a little sad. It wouldn't really effect my life dramatically, though. To me, death is death. There's not many things you can do to stop it. whee

I would cry. ALOT. Especially if Freddie died, and I was around for it. Thankfully, I was born the year after he passed, so I didn't have to go through it. It still makes me really sad, though...But Freddie would probably be plastered all over the news, "Jim Hutton" this, and "Mary Austin" that, and "WHO WILL GET HIS ESTATE?!" It would cause me to start a large-scale rebellion against the media, especially if they treated him ANYTHING like they've treated Anna Nicole Smith. And if his body went on tour like James Brown's has, I think I might have to seriously mame whoever was responsible. That would just be WRONG.

In a weird, off-hand way, I feel the same way. Of course, I wish Freddie never had to go, but I'm glad that none of that had to happen to him, and if it did, I didn't have to witness it. It's kind of selfish, but true...

i heard the tabloids were kind to Freddie, but i never read them or bothered to look them up. i know that Freddie would have hated that. But you are all right about today- just think of what people would say. Tabloids say horrid things about living people...

If he died today, after a bit of crying, I'd probably just remember what an amazing person he was. Even gods like him can be cut down before their time...

They were ferocious both pre and post Freddie's death. gonk They hounded him to the point were no one could enter or exit his home because they would simply be mobbed.
