I really don't think it's good enough to be an international language, but it IS interesting. surprised
It was invented before the field of linguistics; abnormalities are thus to be expected. It's very easy for speakers of Indo-European languages to learn, but others? I doubt it. surprised
However, it's useful in learning how to learn a language.
Kiu parolas Esperanton?

However, from knowledge of French and a little bit of Spanish, I understood what you said. You said something along the lines of, "Do you speak Esperanto?" right? ^^

Mi parolas Esperanton, sed mi estas malboneto en gxi paroli. I speak Esperanto, but I'm a little bad in speaking it.
I hope that's what I said.
I actually started an Esperanto guild last year, mostly becasue nobody else had. I'm not the strongest speaker there, nor do I claim to be. But that was my first REAL experience with conlangs

It is too late and I'm too tired to speak in Esperanto. However, I do know a great deal of the language and I'm learning more everyday. It is my origin in CONLANG.
But I think it will die out before it can become an official national language. Despite the fact that no one country has Esperanto as an official language, there are still over 2 million speakers worldwide. I think that qualifies as an international language, official or not.

I've just recently discovered Esperanto. It has survived over 100 years already, so I dont think that will be the problem. It is definately strongly European based, and I would imagine, dificult for the rest of the world to learn.

(Is it a necro if this is the second most recent thread in the subforum?)
Mi ankaŭ estas nur komencanto, sed dum tiu monato legemas multajn retmesaĝojn kaj librojn tradukitajn al Esperanto. (Kaj mi ĵus eklegis la Fundamento. Tre longa, tio...)
Mmhmm.
