Don't be a whimp, just do it. You're coach always taliks about it because it's a major thing in basketball. We played a team that had two big guys, not clumsy or anything. We have 4 guys the smae heigth that play post that took all the charges(Including me) We made a 6'4 guy and a 6'2 guy foul out by taking charges. Which ultimately won us the game. Int he first quarter we already were in 1 n 1's and their big man already had foul trouble. taking charges can win you the game folks. jUst plant your feet get your hands up and flop when he hits you, maybe even slide backwards.
