She was... A strange filly. Or, rather, since she had grown, a strange mare. She prefered the silence and the calm reflections she could see shimmering on the lake at midnight. Right now she could see her own... Along with a strange smile-like sliver that seemed to be shining down from the sky. There was a word for that. A strange word used by Tsisqua and Ayatas. She couldn't remember it though... But that was alright. She knew that the being was there, watching her, and it made her smile.
Many things made her smile at night. Her paleness matched the moon and her darkness matched the sky. It was also quiet, just as she was. She had, so far, found no reason to make sounds. Actions spoke louder than words and her sister spoke louder than actions. All in all, it made it perfect for her to just smile... And nod.
She waded into the water, disrupting her reflection in an attempt to move closer to the moon. She dipped her head down, wondering if she could take a sip of the shimmering crescent and, if she could, what it would taste like...

His tail swished behind him as he walked more to keep it off the ground than for any emotional reason. He wasn't usually wandering around this late but what was late truly? It was just some thing that others had created to tell everyone that they thought it wasn't proper to be up and about.
They must have just known that interesting things happened when no one was around so they wanted to be able to enjoy it themselves. Eyes glittering in the dim light from the moon he trotted along with a cool breeze.
Ahh for others to recognize the idiocy of following what everyone else said was right. Just because someone said you had to do one particular thing didn't mean you truly did. What a boring and predictable world this would be if everyone did that.

Just when she thought she had caught the corner of the crescent between her lips it rippled and moved, causing her to take a slight step to go after it. The water did taste cooler... Perhaps a bit sweeter. Was that because of the shimmer? Was that what moonbeams tasted like?
Her short tail flickered as best it could against her hindquarters, as she moved through the water. It felt strange moving against her legs now that she was taller. Everything about this side of the lake seemed strange... Probably because her sister was on the other side of it. Had she really wandered that far without Agi?

The pale color of his coat almost seemed to shimmer in the moonlight as he moved past the edge of a lake. Silly things lakes. Always reflecting whatever was going on around them but never showing what was under. It would be so much nicer if they gave up their secrets more than just occasionally when you managed to catch them at just the right angle.

The night itself had more secrets than the lake. That was, perhaps, one of the reasons why she liked it. She could close her eyes and listen to those secrets while remembering that she had no reason to voice her own. Of course, sometimes, the night whispered directly to her...
Like this time. The lake rippled around her legs and the reeds on the bank whistled in the light breeze. She turned her head and there she saw something that she had never seen before. A pale creature with legs like her own, but unlike them. A blanket of some sort was draped over his back... And something strange was on his head. Was it a new form of headband? Curious... She stood there, starring at him, stubby tail flickering behind her.

He swung his head side to side for a moment before he looked up at the night sky. The stars were always curious things. Always up there watching the night and keeping all their secrets to themselves. Curious little things though he did love them so.
Seeing something out of the corner of his eyes he turned his head and saw the mare standing in the lake. Now why would she be doing that? Being all wet and certinally cold wasn't all that smart of something to be.

She didn't seem to mind the wetness of the water... Or the coolness of the air. Although, when she found herself being stared at she moved... Slowly, of course, as she had seen Tsisqua do when there were animals around that he was trying to keep from startling.
She moved closer to the bank, watching this new creature just as she was being watched. Tsisqua had told Ayatas that some large creatures were just as spooked by them as they were. That made sense... But this tall one with long legs didn't seem as if he were spooked. No, if anything he seemed just as curious as she was.
She tilted her head to the side, blinking large, blue eyes. There was something about the curve of this creature's jaw that looked almost... Familiar. That was it! He looked almost like the long-legged ones like... Gata'utana. He was... A male version of herself?

He tilted his head and watched the mare come closer to him. It was rather odd but what was life if things weren't odd every now and then?
"Did your mother never teach you that it's impolite to stare?" While he was doing the same thing he had a perfectly good reason. His mother hadn't taught him much of anything. Even of she had he couldn't remember much of her so what she had taught him he chalked up to learned experiences.

She shook her head slowly. It was the truth, afterall. 'Mother' was a word that she was unfamiliar with. She didn't know what one was... Or what sort of things it was supposed to teach.
Was it truly impolite to stare? Did that mean that the moon thought so as well? Her brow furrowed slightly as she looked up to the sky before looking down to the long-legged tall-one... And then that soft scowl became instantly apologetic as she lowered her eyes, not wanting to be chastised for starring again.

He tossed his head back and laughed. She was a silly little one. Though her lack of speaking was interesting. Usually mares babbled on endlessly about useless things.
She seemed lost somehow and he wondered if there was someone around that was suppose to be her keeper.

At the laughter she tossed her head back up, flashing him a bright, almost comical smile. Yes, she was definately a strange one... Strange, but harmless, it seemed.
When he began to look around she did as well, wondering if there was someone else out there with him... Or if there was someone else he was looking for. There were others who called this lake area home, afterall. Her sister included. Was he looking for Agi?

"You seem lost little one. Are you sure you shouldn't have someone with you to keep you company?" She reminded him of something. He couldn't tell what it was exactally but he was reminded.
She had obviously not been raised right, or even partially right, and had missed a few things about being what she was.

She shook his head once at the first part of his speech, turning that shake of head into a slow nod immediately afterwards. No, she wasn't lost. She knew exactly where she was and how to get back to where she was supposed to be... But she probably shouldn't have ventured all the way out here without her sister.
She took a few steps back towards where she knew Agi would be sleeping, pausing after a moment to look back at the tall-long-legged one. Would he follow her? Should she let him? She didn't exactly want to part ways with him just yet. He was... Interesting.

It was like talking to a wall. Kicking the ground he shook his head and looked past her. He could see off in the distance what looked like a home for one of those two legged things. Perhaps she came from over there then.
"Guli!" She'd woken up and shuffled out form under her blanket only to find her sister gone. That wasn't good since it was night and that meant they should stay close to home. Tsisiqua never went anywhere at night and always said it was a bad idea.

It may have been a bit like talking to a wall... Save for the fact that a wall couldn't respond in any way, shape or form and she? Well, she was at least trying to give him answers despite her lack of speech.
Hearing her sister calling her name her eyes went wide, a grin spreading over her lips. Agisdi was awake. She was never awake at night when it was always the best for playing and watching the moon. The sun always made the lake too bright. She picked up her pace, trotting closer to the camp... But not too close. She didn't want to wake anyone up... Especially not Itse or Gata'utana who were both cranky if they didn't get enough sleep.
