I am really getting into church and God and everything and i am going to youth group and church every week and i was saved like a month ago and i am getting baptised in the penticostle church this Sunday. Back at my school everyone there swears and talks about bad things. I dont know wat to do. I tryed taking one of my friends to youth group and she liked it and i thought she really changed but when i go to school and talk to her shes still listening to bad music, swearing, and talking about pervous stuff. I want to be a good Christian and be better since i was saved and especially since im getting baptised but idk wat to do at school and with my friends. Im trying to get some of them to go to church iwth me and stuff but wat should i do! Please help! I dont know wat to do! gonk crying

I have to say that you have to keep it up. What is this 'bad' stuff she's doing? For instance, watching a violent movie may not exactly be 'bad'. I mean, sure, she shouldn't be watching junk, but you can't force her. Don't force. The best thing you can do is offer a hand and be gentle.

"Hey, wanna go to the Youth meeting at Church with me?"

That may work.

Every school has an issue with people who watch bad things. We can't save them all in a single stroke, but your protests ans support is the best thing you can keep doing and by keeping faith.

And talk to her about it. Tell her the issue. "You said you agreed, then why do you keep swearing?"

Try stuff like that.^^

see this is mainly dependant on what your attitude of a good chirstian. because it is possible to have a change in your heart wihtout giving up soem things of the world ie music(what is "bad music"in your oppinion? just curious) . you can still follow. also just becasue you got saved and are obviously on FIRE. dosen't mean your friends are going to get there too (at least not right away.) i'd recomend living a good example. eventualy they will wonder why their lives are crap and you are always glowing. then start them slowly into the church.

as for the swearing, i'm not going to go and repost everything that i've said on that topic in this guild. but it's all there if you want to look it up.

welcome to the family. i'm Lazarus and you can get in touch with me about anything.
God Bless.

The thing to remind yourself is that we are in the world, not of it. To better clarify, being a Christian means you have to live in this world without giving in to the sinful life styles of those who do not follow Christ. It can be very difficult, but it is important that we be a good example to others in hopes that we can witness to them. When people get on sinful topics, I usually smile and nod or shrug my shoulders, but if they ask me about my opinion, I let them know that I don't agree. I try not to make anyone uncomfortable, even when I am. Not sure if that is the best way to do it, but thats what I do. Just try to be a good friend, and don't let your friends pressure you into things you shouldn't do, and don't be afraid to tell them about Christ if they ask. Hope this helps. mrgreen

I've got a song for you ^_^: If you want me to by Ginny Owens

The pathway is broken
And the signs are unclear
And I don't know the reason why You brought me here
But just because You love me the way that You do
I'm gonna walk through the valley
If You want me to

No I'm not who I was
When I took my first step
And I'm clinging to the promise You're not through with me yet
So if all of these trials bring me closer to You
Then I will go through the fire
If You want me to

It may not be the way I would have chosen
When You lead me through a world that's not my home
But You never said it would be easy
You only said I'll never go alone

So when the whole world turns against me
And I'm all by myself
And I can't hear You answer my cries for help
I'll remember the suffering Your love put You through
And I will go through the darkness
If You want me to

When I cross over Jordan, I'm gonna sing, gonna shout
Gonna look into your eyes and see you never let me down
So take me on the pathway that leads me home to you
And I will walk through the valley if you want me to

Yes, I will walk through the valley if you want me to

I never get tired of hearing that someone was saved. As for your freinds, keep in mind that becoming a Christian doesn't come by going to church. It comes by making a life change, deciding to put God as #1 and actually changing. You'll be able to tell by the fruit that people bear if they haven't made that decision. My advice: share your testimony. There's power there.

I know this isn't my post, but thanks for the great advice, Lithanus lol. I really needed it smile .
I always remind myself that I'm in the world and not of it, so it's something I've always taken to heart.
Well, I'm usually a quiet ascetic-like guy, so it would be difficult for someone to tell that I get pretty annoyed and uptight about sinful topics when they come up. I think it's mostly because I really care about everyone and thier well being and I really don't want anybody to live those kinds of lifestyles in fear of thier spiritual safety or perhaps even future consequences. But yet, I also live by the saying, "Hate the sin, not the sinner" so I guess I get angry about the new sinful act even existing in the first place rolleyes . I just keep being reminded of what the books of 1 and 2 Timothy have to say about these things.
I'm sure being secretely angry about it probably won't solve anything, so being the way I am, I guess I should just take your advice instead: smile, nod, shrug my shoulders, and give my unexpected opinion when asked lol.
I believe praying for them also helps too, along with praying for ourselves so that God can strengthen our minds and make us spiritually stronger when we come across such matters 3nodding

just be strong and and don't go back to your old ways. maybe talk to your friend and see what is going on that she feels she needs to act this way. A christian reflects the light of Christ into the world and sometimes the world responds and changes are made and sometimes the world is a smelly drooling guy that is going to throw his pillow at you and yell for you to shut the light off because they would rather sleep.
