Ugh. I used to go to FanFiction.net a lot. But I would always avoid stories with poor grammar and spelling like the plague. There are so many bad stories, grammar wise and plot wise. I hate it. Besides screen-play writing like that is against FanFiction's rules. The story should be deleted off of the site.

And this would be better off in the "Text-Talk Horror Stories".

I'm a literate script writer, thank you very much. stare Since that ban, I've gone freelance. I hope none of you mates have a bone to pick on literate script writers. confused

This would be the perfect introduction to a war between people who wish to discuss freelace verses script writing, but that would be childish. Literate is literate and there are people on FanFic who do not qualify as literate, regardless of the writing style. Moving on.

Whoa, okay, maybe not literally freelance in verse, but I work under no one except at the Super Forum with a good literate fanfic-writing friend and associate I met that one time at the Puffy Shrine. His name was Leon Landers. Since then, like a few members of this guild and myself, there was no love lost between us. In other words, we're fervent followers and efficient teammates of our own two-man team.

Of course, I still write mostly in script format, but sometimes I write in verses or even haiku.

Huh. I have no clue what I was talking about. I like script writing and all, but more likely than not, it's just an illiterate moron that can't write a story anyway. I dunno whether it's a good move or not on FF.net anymore that they banned scripts. Probably is, but it's horrible. I was on there for the first time in ages and the illiteracy has just gotten worse.

Congratulations on being unique then. My point was simply that literate is literate and there was no point in discussing writing style because how you write is how you write. Stereotyping is the equivalent of name calling. It is the last resort of a person without a vocabulary (my pardons to Tamora Pierce and Neal of Queenscove).

In my view, not all script writers are illiterate morons. Just look at Shakespeare and that one author who wrote the book Monster.

The worst I've seen on there is someone blatantly misusing their apostrophes, making all-too-common grammatical errors.

But I'm sure most of us have seen that regardless of whether or not the person was writing script. Some people just don't care, and it bugs the crap out of all of us. The one that gets me is when they purposefully switch person and tense. You can't figure out who is talking, when something is going to happen, or what the heck is going on. But those kinds of things occur, as I said before, reguardless of the style the person is writing in.

Okay I love www.fanfiction.net and the only reason some people mispell and such is because some do not have windows or a spell checker. I happen to be a writer myself but luckily I have spell windows which has spell check. So if you have a problem with that website well that's too bad.

Harry Potter and the Burden of Becoming

My dad wrote that, and I was his editor for the most part.

I find myself literate, and I hope you enjoy reading it.

I have written some stuff on fanfic as well. I like the site. For every bad story there is at least one good one. You just have to know the right people.

I have also written a few stories on Fanfiction.net. I don't believe that it's fair to hammer it about the grammatical or spelling errors, as many of the people on the website are young and inexperienced. Sometimes, I cannot help but wonder if many of this guild's members are too zealous in their persecution against people with 'less than favorable' grammatical ability.

Perhaps, rather than set fire to people, we should offer assistance to them and help them improve.
