To be honest... System hasn't changed me. I had always been interested in politics before and I'm not one to be shaped by music. Hell, I love NoFX but you'd never think so because of my slightly right political views. And, when it comes to get through rough spots in life, I prefer making my own music or expressing myself rather than strictly just listening to music. I guess my love urge to ******** Daron could be considered a change... >_>;

Well they certainly enlightened me about genocide, Amenia in general, and what Turkey have done and are still doing.
They've made me more aware that lies are all around us and what we're doing to this planet without even realising it, or caring.
They inspired me to get out there and start learning Bass, something which even Green Day, my spiritual heroes, couldn't do.
They also taught me to look for more than just outside beauty. They're all beautiful, beautiful people, you just have to have the balls to say "******** you" to people who try and tell you what you should or shouldn't find attractive.
Wow... haha. All hail System, the great and wise teachers. =]

Heehee, thankyou. =]
Oh, I remember another one - they also got me interested in a few bands.
Serj got me interested in Axis Of Justice, which drew my attention to the downright awesome Tom Morello, and through him I found Audioslave (which in turn led me to Soundgarden), but most importantly Rage Against The Machine.
And if thats not something to be thankful for I don't know what is.

Well System has done a lot for me in the three years I have really known them.
First they have really just opened my music taste, I was listening to just crappy pop music...then just one day I discovered BYOB. Before that I was obsessed with Linkin Park, which I still like them. Also listening to the Axis of Justice Radio Network, they play "rebel jams" which has also GREATLY increased my music taste.
Second...Listening to their music, I have learned there is so much more in the world that people should be aware of. Before System, I really cared less about political things or just human rights in general. I have learned that not everyone is as happy as the United States. More and more people don't get the rights we do. It is sad that a band had to teach me this.
I learned about the Armenian Genocide, and I have been trying to educate others on the subject. I did a speech on it in my English class and am constantly talking about it. I really am upset for the things countries get away with.
I have also learned not to care what people think of me. They could not like the clothes I wear or the things that I do, but I've learned just to be myself and not care what they think. If you want to hang out with me, cool, if not cool. I have my own happy personality that I'd love to share with anyone who will take the time to know me. I love to laugh and have a good time, but I know that it's okay to show you're true self no matter where you are.
I now have a direction for my life. Yeah, obviously I want to graduate high school, go to collage...all that normal stuff, but now I have a purpose for doing those things. You really have to make the most in life because you only have one. I finally have developed a goal for my lifetime. I want to make a difference in the world. I want to just travel the world and help out as many people as I can. I want to graduate from high school with good grades to be able to get into a good collage and eventually make enough money so I can help these people. I want to help people stand up against their government in countries that they can't. I want to educate people on difference diseases that can be preventable. I want to feed the poor and shelter the cold. I want to clothe the naked and heal the wounded. It just all makes sense to me to do this stuff.
As I said in another topic, I really am grateful for Serj, Daron, Shavo, and John. Serj has been my number one role-model and true hero in my life. I really look up to him! Also as I've said, I'm just really dissapointed that my role-model isn't someone already close and personal to me, someone who I could truely thank properly. It puts me down a little, but I know doing the things I am doing is what he wants and that's the best thank you he could ever get knowing that more people are being educated daily.

SOAD isnt afraid whats so ever, and they sorta make you want to aswell.

That's mostly exactly how I feel as well, especially the bold parts. Obviously. It really does depress me that mostly they'll never know how much their music has changed people for the better. Unless one day I meet him at a protest. =3 That's the dream.

Not trying to be mean but what song or thing did they say that America has it better than most countries cause I think B.Y.O.B. is way against America cause of some of the comments it has in it. But whatever its cool that you heard it that way. Oh and on the thing that you want to help the poor and cold to get a start on it go into the peace corp to see what areas you want to help. But if you do this instead of going and helping people in other countries first try to help our people cause their are too many starving kids in America. heart

Generally, there are less developed countries than there are undeveloped, and so, yeah, America, being a developed country, has it better in terms of items and money compared to a lot of countries.
Just be really glad you don't live in a Communist society like China, Cuba, or North Korea, because there, "free thinkers are dangerous."

Yeah but America is still a power hungry country that starts s**t with the Middle East and then when we get attacked we act like the victim and we say that they attacked us because they hate all of America and its people heart
