I would choose strat. It has a better tremelo and, to me, less confusing! It actually tells you which knob is the volume and tone! xp

It actually tells you which knob is the volume and tone! xp it's not that hard to figure out I know that! Its easier though when it tells you. Plus I don't have enough cash to get a Les Paul anyway.

That's one of mine. And I can't stand using a Strat or LP. Not my style. And I hate round guitars.

Oh, a guitar?
I like SGs, Dean MLs and Razorbacks, and Ibanez RGs. Right now I just have a Bronze series Warlock.
I'd probably get an SG and put a dimebucker or DiMarzio X2N in the bridge, and an SH-1 '59 or EMG-H4 in the neck.

i'll be getting my gibson explorer sometime next mounth when i go to vagas and go to the guitar center, unless i happen to find something i like even better, which i don't think will happen.
for bass though gibson thunderbird studio 5 string.
