What kind do you use? Mine are some cheap brand that have been crapping out on me lately. VERY noisy. What are some brands that you would recommend that are not too pricey? Do you like right angled cables, or straight?
I saw this nice Vox coiled cable but it's $40. If it's a quiet cable and does it's job well I guess it's worth it though. I'm seeing now that I have to sink more and more money into gear to get better quality.

I go to my local guitar store, buy some Neutrik cable ends and some cable (however long I need it) and build myself most of my cables. Last time I went I was lazy and bought a 25 foot mic cable just because it would cost more to make one. Silly me, I could have had better cable if I'd made it.
Digiflex make the best cables though, with a lifetime guarantee. Any place I've bought one, they've told me that if anything goes wrong with it to just bring it back and it will be replaced no questions asked. Awesome.

I wouldn't mind trying my hand at making cables, but I haven't seen the cables and ends sold seperatley at local guitar shops. That is a damn nice guarentee.

Monster cables are pretty sweet. Only problem is that they are expensive.

One of my local shops does cable by the foot at a rate of about 30 cents. It's not a bad deal if you want to make a lot of 10 or 20 footers, but make sure when you get it that it's the big fat stuff with lots of rubber. I've seen some poor looking cheap cable that's about the size of a phone cable. I wouldn't trust it in a live gig, that's for sure.
