It was one of those days when there was nothing that a man needed more then a good smoke to calm his stressed out nerves. Yeesh when he had agreed to go in on this parenting thing he had thought he could get away with letting Lamiah do the most of the parenting since she was the one that wanted the kid far more then he had. It ended up though that the kid needed more then one parent... in fact LaVey was all for like... ten or so more people to help out with the kid.

"Stay in my sight or I swear I am going to buy a harness and leash and tie you to a tree!" He yelled after the horse that was currently running away from him in the open area near the D-corp building. He was serious he wasn't about to let the kid get lost again. He was pretty sure that given a compass, a map, and a guide dog that kid would still end up in the exact opposite place from where he was supposed to be going... He gave a grunt then leaned on the tree he had threated to tie Valens to before he pulled out his pack of smoke and took one out. It was only early afternoon and already he wanted to tie Valens up never a good sign.

Valens gave his father's yelling only a bit of attention as there were far more important things to do! Running for one to stretch his legs they had been inside for far to long today, he'd gotten kicked out for demonstrating what he could do with the couch which was pushed it across the livingroom and ended up knocking up a bunch of breakable stuff. He was strong but he didn't exactly know what to do with the strength yet...

A bird went hopping catching Valens' attention and went running at it, sending it flying and squawking away from him up into the air and out of reach causing the boy to giggle histarically. Silly thing...

Speaking of harried...

A tall, youngish man dressed in a rather academic-looking sweater-and-slacks ensemble comes out of the D-corp building some small time later, accompanying (or one might say 'being towed by') a compact little powerhouse of a child. The boy's adoptive parent has an expression of extreme duress, and has probably had to put up with...well. Whatever the scruffy little boy has put him through, which is apparently quite a bit... all day.

By the time Ryrleon reaches the other adult's proximity, he finally manages to free himself from Corrigan's clutches. "All right, all right... just don't go too far, all right?" Ryr tries, but it's already a bit too late... the hyenaboy has already wound himself up to charge out onto the open grass...

Oh, hey! Something running! That means... HE MUST CHASE IT!

And so, with a heartfelt (if not exactly terrifying) bellow of "AAAAAAH!", Corrigan lights out in a total beeline for Velens...who's chasing a bird, who at this point must think it's the unluckiest avian on the planet.

Ryr just watches him go with an exasperated sigh. ".... I think," he mutters as an aside to the other parent, "....I think I need to get him a treadmill or something."

LaVey took a long drag off his cigarette before holding it out to the other man offering him some, it helped his nerves and could help the other guy... well if he were one to smoke. If not well LaVey could always hope that he wasn't one that would tell him the 'evils' of his habit, "I was thinking of a long bit of rope myself and a tree." Wasn't as if he cared how bad that may sound after all he was taking care of the kid even if he wasn't the world number one father...

Valens was oblivious the bird was his target so he wasn't even aware of Corrigan's approach until he was close enough that the horse caught wind of him. He gave a half squeal, half whinny and spun around on his hoof to see what was charging at him.. he had no idea it was moving to fast. Instead of running away though he did the opposite and ran towards Corrigan so they could meet in the middle... a fun, maybe painful game of tag!

Ryr fans a hand at LaVey by way of denial, though perhaps thankfully doesn't scold him for having one. Were he one to smoke, Ryr would definitely need one. As it is, he mutters, "What I wouldn't do for a nice cup of tea." This seems like a pleasure he hasn't enjoyed for awhile now.

The suggestion for tethering his child earns a sigh and a wan smile. ".... That wouldn't work with Corrigan," he answers, almost in a manner that suggests he's already tried it. "He'd just chew through it. He chews...anything, really. It's like having a cross between a two year old and a puppy." There's a pause, "...well, I suppose that would stand to reason..." he adds.

Corrigan, meanwhile, slows slightly when his 'prey' turns to charge him... confused. It's not supposed to come back, he's pretty sure! But he doesn't quite have the time (or the presence of mind) to stop, so it's going to be a two-boy pileup in the grass if Velens doesn't do something particularly agile. But that's okay! Hyenaboys are largely made out of rubber anyway, and he loves a good tussle as well as the next kid.

"Tea?" LaVey said, he was sure that was something that Lamiah did when she was run in circles by Valens but it wasn't much his thing. He looked over to the dog like child that was chasing after his own son, until Valens turned around that was, and nodded, "I can see where that would be a problem. Valens would break free even if I tied him, its a good threat though he hates standing still." With as strong as the horse seemed a bit of rope couldn't hold him for that long he bet.

He looked over at the man and held out his empty hand, "LaVey." He introduced himself. Might as well since it seemed he would be carrying on conversation since the boys were playing.

Valens gave a happy whinnying sound as they met in the middle a perfect tackle that ended up with the two of them taking a tummble to land at the end in a heap. He couldn't help but laugh when they came to a stop, "TAG!" He said laughing, then realized that wouldn't that make him it since the dog looking boy had been chasing him? He wasn't sure... hrm. What did the rules say for something like this?

Ryr nods solemnly. "...Tea," he repeats, wistfully, then blinks and looks down at the proffered hand. "....Oh! Oh, I'm terribly sorry." He shakes the hand hurriedly. "Ryrleon Grimsby. A pleasure... ah. You can just call me Ryr if you like..." He pronounces it sort of like 'Rirr'.

He heaves a faint sigh, then a wry smile, "... I don't think I was really cut out for this. But... one does what one can. And...well." He looks back to where the boys are playing, "... he -is- a rather cute little devil, all things considered. I just wish he wouldn't eat books. Or shred them, rather, I'm fairly sure he doesn't actually -eat- them. I'm kind of dreading sending him to classes. Most children may eat paste... I suspect he'd probably eat the pasteboard. And possibly gnaw on the table. He'll put anything in his mouth if I don't watch him."

In fact, Corrigan has made at least a brief attempt to bite Velens, though the horse-boy is rather stronger than he is, and even more animated, so it's not really amounted to much. Once the exploratory mouthing has failed, though, he doesn't dwell on it, and instead rolls to all fours, giggles maniacally, and yelps "You're IT!" before bolting off in a random direction. He's up on two feet after a little ways, but he almost seems like he can move faster by bounding.

"That one," He pointed over at Valens, "Kicks things and leaves holes in them, not to mention that he is still a child and can move the couch." Easily, it was a bit unnerving, "They don't make it easy for us as the parents." Not that he figured the techs really cared if the parents had an easy time or not... He looked over at the boys watching them wrestle about before the dog boy 'tasted' Valens. LaVey for a moment felt a rush of protectiveness, a feeling that was a bit foreign to him, before he saw the dog boy run off again. There was no blood so it was fine, no harm no foul and all that...

Valens gave a whinny as he pushed himself up to his feet to give chase his mane and tail trailing along behind him as he followed after his new play mate. A meeting by sheer coincidence but he wasn't about to try to figure out the odds or where the boy came from because truthfully he didn't care, what he cared about was the game that was now started up and the fact that he was 'It'.

Ryr watches the two. "....Well...hopefully the outing will burn off at least a -bit- of their energy," he sighs, though he does have to smile. They look like they're having fun, and chances are Velens will outlast Corrigan's stamina. For the time being, though, the hyenaling streaks across the grass at full tilt, zigging and zagging and throwing up clods of turf as he tries to evade his pursuer.

His 'father' doesn't miss the twitch from LaVey, though it takes him a bit to actually get around to responding. "...Don't worry. He won't bite a person." He doesn't think, anyway. "At least, not like he does other things. It's sort of how he explores his surroundings; he puts them in his mouth. I used to worry he'd get sick, but..." But after he happily chewed a small handheld radio into bits, he pretty much gave up fretting.

LaVey nodded his head, "That is true... if I am lucky he will at least exhaust himself enough for me to lead him home." And actually get there, that part was left out though. He would carry the kid if that was what it took wouldn't be the first time though Valens was starting to get to big for that... LaVey turned his gaze to look over at Ryr, "I worry, you have no idea what his mother would do to me were he to return with bite marks." He gave a shake of his head, she would beat him to death with a broom...

Valens laid his ears back as he tried to speed up a bit more, trying to reach his hands out towards Corrigan, if he could only tag him... though the hardest part was to tag then do a one eighty to head back in the other direction. His hooves at least helpd with the slowing down part so he could turn.

Ryr looks wry. "I've learned to adjust." While Corrigan hasn't left him with any blood lost, he -does- have quite the number of bruises to his name. Good thing his clothing covers it, or someone might wonder about him. "Anyway, I don't think he'll hurt your boy, he just plays kind of rough. I'm not entirely sure what can be done about it." It's probably a puppy thing. "Anyway, it's probably best if they do burn off some of that energy where nothing's likely to get broken." Velens is big, and Corrigan's just...well...Corrigan.

The hyena boy is managing to stay ahead fairly well... but horses run quick, and a tug on his tail tells him he's been 'had'. There's a yip, more out of surprise than pain, and Corrigan knows it's his turn to give chase. Instead of spinning around in any normal sense, he lets his momentum send him tumbling in a ball of limb and claw, but only for a brief second... when he comes back up, he's actually facing the right direction on all fours with his sharp nails dug into the turf. He grins, baring large (sharp) white teeth and crows, "Imma gonna GETCHU!" before launching himself after Velens at full tilt. It's not -quite- as fast, as he is starting to tire, but he's still got fight left in him! Rawr!

Ryrleon facepalms. "... Oh well," he mutters, "I needed to do laundry anyway." And people wonder why Corri's clothes are always ripped...

LaVey's eyes widened a bit at the way that the puppy boy turned himself around though a tummbling, "Well now... that was interesting." He murmured, unable to keep from laughing a bit. It was always nice to see a kid that was as energetic, as rambunctious, and as dirty as his kid. It made him feel a little better about how Valens acted.

The horse boy was just as amazed by the way that Corrigan turned, in fact enough that he slowed to a halt to watch the ball of puppy as it rolled. He gave a squeal and turned to run off to the side when the puppy was then back on his feet and calling out. The game was back on it seemed.. and the horse was all for it, running along away from the other boy not wanting to be 'it' again so quickly though his pause earlier did put him a bit closer to Corrigan then had he run away right after tagging him.

Yes, Corrigan qualifies as 'rambunctious and dirty' all right. The dark brown on his hands and feet are markings and not grubbiness, but it certainly doesn't help him look any tidier.

Corri drops to all fours again in an attempt to try and gain speed on Valens, but it becomes fairly obvious that the horseboy definitely has speed over the hyena. Still, he's stubborn enough to make one last go for it, executing one last massive leap in an attempt to try and catch Valens by the long, streaming tail. Either way, the exertion is going to result with him tumbling head over teakettle along the grass, with or without his target. He's just got too much inertia not to.

Ryr winces a little in sympathy, then glances over at LaVey, "...Well, still, it's good that they get along so well! I'm always afraid he's going to play too rough, but Valens seems to be holding his own. He's...well... he really likes people, but a lot of time he seems to put them off." Probably by the biting and tussling.

Valens gave a sound of surprised as there was suddenly a heavy weight on his tail that tripped him up and sent him tummbling a bit along with the puppy boy to land in a giggling heap, he sat up shook off then set to brushing the dirty and grass off of himself though the green stains all over his pants no doubt wasn't gonna come off all that easily...

"Hehe, that was great." The horse child said, grinning at the other boy his ears flicking forwards and backwards.

LaVey shook his head, "Valens can take it, hes built solid." He said, watching the way that he went rolling and then sat back up laughing. He doubted there would be much that could drop him for a long period of time.

Corrigan sprawls out on his back... he's -covered- in grass stains, adding long green smears to the brown and black ones across his back... and pants audibly. But he's grinning one of those -huge- grins of his all the same, and eventually rolls over onto his stomach to peer up at Velens.

"I like you!' he chirps, positively beaming. He's too worn out to re-pounce the horseboy, but he -does- contrive to roll over and flop onto his tail. Mmm, pillow. "I'm Corri. Whatchername?" Since, like, he didn't exactly ask first.

Ryr sighs, seeming relieved as the rambunctious play dies down, ruffling the back of his hair. "Yes... and I'm glad for that." He smiles, "...Hm. Well... maybe they'll be able to play again soon? I need to get him home and..." A slight face, "... get him cleaned up." He glances sidelong at LaVey, "... ever tried to wash a puppy?" A pause, then, ".... it's much worse. Puppies don't have hands." Just... don't ask.

"Name is Valens!" He said, grinning happily,"Good to meet you Corri." He rather liked Corri, he was fun! And the horse boy flopped back on the ground crossing his arm behind his head, "That was fun! Gotta do that again." He told him, maybe when they caught their breath they could try again?

"Will have to be careful." He told Ryr, "If Valens sees whats up he will bolt and might take your boy with him, he doesn't like for the games to end." He was warning the other parent ahead of time so that he would be sneaky with catching his son.
