The little girl sits with her numb legs Pulled up around her frail body, hugging them to her chest Humming a song, a melody, long forgotten, the words changed
ring around the rosie pockets full of posies gashes to ashes i'm falling down...
Hallucinating and dizzy She vomits on the cold stone floor, her breath dank Black and blue bruises stain her pale skin Chalky with youth and eye sockets cold She's never stopped falling
And the shadows violate her shameful existence Stealing her identity while at the same time Abandoning her and her hurt; revealing her truth
Paws scuttle past her body huddled in the corner Barefooted; she traces her heart in the dirt Hoping someone will come to claim it for themselves Because she has no use for the extra weight of the organ Loss is too familiar to her
Her voice stands out in the silence Clear but hushed lyrics She curtsies to the invisible crowd of glowing eyes And begins once more, for finality
ring around the rosie pockets full of posies gashes to ashes can't catch me now...
