Ara: Kat checked over the room again, the usual class, but this time only for one student. Everything had been set up accordingly... And while she'd done this in theory for classes, she never had feild training with blind children. But what better time to learn? She bounced cheerily, setting up the bits of brail and tracing her fingers over them to make sure she remembered everything while she waited for her pupil to arrive. Drez would be the student, and her door was left wide open for him and his parent to come through.
Naggeela: Drez holding Val's hand a little nervous about the class that he was going to take. They both rounded the corner to the classroom and they both walked in, with Drez flicking his tonuge.
Ara: Kat looked up as she heard a shoe hit her tiled floor, giving a warm smile to the two, "Hey Drez." she greeted the boy she'd worked with before he was adopted kindly, "Do you remember me?" she stood up from the small plastic chair, walking over to them, and offering her hand to the mother. "I'm Kat, as you probably know."
Naggeela: He perked up a little when he heard his name called. But as he is 'looking' around he caught a familar scent. He all of a sudden got happy and excited, from his grumpy skin shedding mood that he was in before entering the room. "Kat!" he said letting go of his mothers hand and gave Kat a leg hug. "Yes I remember you, I still have the smooth stone you game me," he replied. Val walked over to Kat and shook her hand. "Yes I do and I'm Val and its nice to meet you," she replied somewhat shocked that Drez's mood changed so quickly. "So what are we going to learn Kat. My mother told me that I was going to learn something but wouldn't tell me."

Kat gave a wide smile, returning the hug happily. "Oh, I'm glad!" She replied, happy to find her small gift had been enoyed. She returned her attention to the mother, trying to keep an even balance between parent and child. "It's nice to meet you to." The shake was given, before Kat focused on their main objective for the day. "Well, I'm going to teach you your ABCs." She announced happily, "You know, A, B, C D, E, F G..." She sang breifly, looking to see if he recognized that tone, then interupted with a continued explination "And I'm going to teach you a super special code so that you can read books all by yourself!"

Drez did hum to the Abc tune, his mother had tryed to teach to him. He knows that the letters do turn into words but since he can't see the letters nothing really did sink in. But when Drez heard that he would be learing a code were he could read himself he got very excited. "So what is this super special code?" he asked excitedly as he scratched and some skin came off. Val knew that he would be excited to learn it and then would bug her to death about it. She even smiled that Drez's grumby sheading mood had lifted for at least until they leave.

"Well you get to use your fingers," Kat explained with enthusiasm "and you can feel all these little bumps will make patterns, once you learn those you can make words..." The grin on her face could be heard in her voice, as she took his hand to lead him over to the table shed set up. "You can come back in a few hours Val" She helped him into his seat as she spoke, moving behind him so that she could move his hands across her first paper. She led his fingers across the first "letter" It formed 3 bumps in a top corner. "This is a D.. Duh." she made the sound of a d... The next, had 3 bumps going down, and one in the middle next to them. "R... reh" The next, two bumps, "E... eh" and the last, 3 bumps at the bottom corner, and one on the top "Z... zuh" she led him to the end of the word. "And that spells... D-r-e-z... duh-reh-eh-zuh... And when you say that fast... Drez~! Its your name."

"See when you have all these letters like this, you can spell all sorts of words... Anything you want, you can even make up your own." she explained, moving away to get out her new braille cards. Each had a letter, and then words made up of that letter.

Val just noded to Kat. "See you later Drez," she said "Bye," Drez replied as Kat was leading him to a chair as Val left the room to come back in a few hours. She couldn't wait to see what her little boy learned when she came back. Maybe she should get a few books that he could read himself she thought as she walked down the hall.
Sitting down and listened to Kat as she showed him how he could 'see' letters and read for himself. Drez giggled slightly when he first felt the first letter, but quickly learned all that Kat was saying. Sounding out each letter as he was shown and smiled big when they had spelt his name. "Cool! So as soon as I learn more of these I would be able to read on my own?" He asked as he looked at Kat smiling and excited too.
