(( The song is Fury of the Storm by Dragonforce. The guitar is ear raping. ))

Duncan wasn't much one for loud noises and close quarters, but for the past few weeks Jack hadn't managed to shut up about wanting to go to some industrial thing he had seen on TV. So, on the command of Ul, Duncan had brought him to the club where the concert was taking place. He was supposed to keep an eye on the kid, but with Jack decked out in dark clothes stained with all manner of animal blood and old food as he often was he didn't really think he'd have a problem finding him if he needed to. Besides, he could handle himself well enough for a little brat, and there were plenty of security guards around if he got himself in trouble.

We are riding for the battle field in force tonight
Fury of the darkest evil cry for war

Within seconds of reaching the bottom of the metal winding stairs Jack had freed himself from his older brother's grasp, quickly being absorbed into the crowd. His bright blue eyes were on fire with a strange desire to get to the point where it was the loudest, most intense.

Far beyond the boundaries of hell and starlight
On the road to lands unknown forever more

By shoving and biting at the people that stood in his way he managed to get to the front, directly in front of the speakers. This was the best place to be, much better than at home at any rate.

Through the caverns far below our quest will lead us
Onwards through the ice and snow forever more
Standing fighting full of hate the time has come now
Stand and sound the guns of glory cry for war

Maelon couldn't believe he'd been talked into going out. He would rather be at home doodling or even outside taking pictures along the woodland trail near his and Pry's house. But going out wasn't even half of it. He'd been convinced to go out to a concert of all things. Urg. Mae had no desire to stand in a mosh pit in amongst hundreds of other sweaty bodies and screaming adolescents. It was disgusting. He would have to take three showers when he got home, though more would be better. Pryderi owed him big time for taking their neighbour's kid Bae out to this concert of Lizardpower or whatever the band was called. The dark chocolate Sin'aeis hadn't cared enough to remember the name.

An insistent tug on his hand brought Mae back to the real world, and he found himself dragged forward through the crowd towards the speakers. What, was Bae crazy? Why the hell would anyone want to get closer to that noise? The Sin'aeis dug in his heels but it was no use. Within moments he was so close to the speakers that Maelon was sure he'd be able to hear this terrible music for several days after the concert. The preteen winced, stuffing his fingers in his ears and rolling his eyes when Bae started to sing along. Whatever High Power was watching this must really have it in for him today.

[Bae's just a kid. No real idea what he looks like, he's just there. XD]

Jack, in the midst of a series of stomping headbangs, hardly noticed when his little clearing was invaded by another. That is at least, until he stopped on one of the newcomers' feet. This set him off his ba;ance, knocking him down onto his butt. "Watcher' damn self!" he shouted, looking up at the other that seemed to want to be here even less than Duncan did. It seemed he hadn't quite learned the rule not to mess with people bigger than himself.

Maelon had just deafened the noise enough to try and fall into a half sleep when some idiot stepped on his toes. Instantly his fingers jerked from his ears, the blaring guitar raging through his brain once again. Ouch. Who the hell had just stepped on his foot? He was almost achieved a semi-sleep that would allow him to spend the rest of the concert somewhat peaceful. Whoever had just interrupted his little meditation was so dead. Violet eyes narrowed as the dark chocolate Sin'aeis looked for the perpetrator. Luckily for him, the toe-stepper all but announced his presence by swearing at Maelon. With a quick glance at Bae (who was far to engrossed in the music to care), the dark chocolate turned to deal with Jack.

"I think you owe me an apology, short stuff. You're the idiot who stepped on my toe!" Maelon yelled back, clearly not impressed by this small child. "I can't help it if you're a klutz."

With an angry frown on his face Jack got to his feet, puffing his chest out stubbornly, "What'choo say to me? I ain't gonna apologize cause you was in the way." Who did this person think he was, the toddler reached for the boar knife kept at his waist, becoming frustrated when he remembered Duncan had taken it from him on the way in. "Now move outta my way 'fore I get mad you big dummy." So even if he had the pride of a peacock and the self preservation of a lemming, he still had the mind of a toddler. Whether it was the music or the thrill of a potential fight running through his veins, something had put the tot on edge.

Hokay, number one, this kid had an attitude problem worse than Akilah, and number two he spoke funny. Definitely a weird kid. Normally Maelon would have avoided such an obviously strange child, but he was feelingly slightly protective of Bae, who was only a few feet away. Jack was a potential threat to the innocent Bae, and he wouldn't stand for anyone threatening the kid. That was his job. Jeeze.

Mae scowled back at Jack, lip curling in a snarl. "I wasn't in the way, pipsqueak. You were flailing around like a dying animal and stepped on my toe." The Sin'aeis' scowl darkened when Jack made a reach for what he presumed to be a weapon, however whatever it was appeared not to be there. Excellent. If there had been a weapon Maelon would have been forced to fight. For now, verbal insults would suffice. "Oh no, you're going to get mad? Whatever shall I do if that happens?" Mae reached down to poke Jack in the chest. "Nice try, but I doubt anyone in this room would be scared of you."

At this, a switch went off in Jack's head. His eyes narrowed and he reached his hand into his pocket, soon busying himself with entwining something around his little fists. "You ain't got any right to make fun'a me." From the looks of it he was wrapping his fingers in thread, but it had a strange red tint in patches. The light hit it momentarily, sending a mixed silver and red shine to his face. This was his favorite thing to fight with when he didn't have his knife, and for some reason he thought it would make the other think twice about bothering him. Steel wool, stained with mixed animal blood and his own, and enough of it to encase his fists.

Unable to feel slightly wary – the kid had reached for a weapon earlier – Maelon watched carefully as Jack put his hands in his pocket. This kid was definitely weird, and he wasn't sure that anything good was going to come out of this confrontation. Whatever. He would keep provoking the kid until he punched, and then throw him into some random bystander. That would keep him occupied for a little while, and hopefully long enough to catch one of the security guards' attention. Huh, not bad for a last-minute plan. He was totally on the ball with this one. The dark chocolate Sin smirked, seemingly amused by Jack's antics. "And you've got no right to be stomping on my feet and acting tough, so I guess we're even, shorty."

Jack twitched, clenching his tiny fists so hard that he broke the skin on his knuckles with the wool. Shorty. Too many people called him that, and each time it pissed him off more and more. Remembering what Tangia had told him calmed him down momentarily, and he started to turn away, but his violent nature got the better of him. "Don't ******** call me that!" he shouted and leaped at the older boy angrily, wildly flailing his fists towards the other's face.

Wow, that took surprisingly a lot less time than Mae had expected. Though, he hadn't called Jack and attention whore, and he supposed that was probably a worse insult. It had set Akilah off in about ten seconds flat, and though the two had been toddlers at the time, the fight had been quite fierce. Biting, punching, and hair pulling all in the same fight! Quite an epic fight, even though Maelon and Akilah now had a semi-peace treaty. But all of that aside, he needed to focus on fighting the squirt. Correction, he needed to focus on getting rid of the squirt. As Jack jumped Maelon ducked, hands up in an attempt to use the boy's own motion to his advantage and throw him over the dark chocolate boy's shoulder and into the crowd. It took him a swipe across the face from one of Jack's flailing hands to realize what the kid had wrapped around his fist. Though he'd never seen the stuff, Maelon could only guess that it was some sort of cheese grater-like material. Damn it hurt when it grazed your face!

When Jack slammed into the other he was thrown off at an angle, landing squarely on his left shoulder behind him. Tears welled up in his eyes as he had hit hard enough to tear through his sweater, but he didn't make a sound. A bit of blood dripped off of his hands, more his own than Mae's. He was about to run back at Mae when suddenly a hand came down and grabbed him by the back of his collar, lifting him a good three feet into the air. Crap. Security. The man responsible was glaring at Mae with an equally angry expression, and after shifting Jack to a position where he couldn't kick so easily, said, "And what the hell do you boys think you're doing?"

Ouch. Apparently his plan hadn't been that perfect, seeing as he hadn't accounted for Jack slamming into his shoulder. Great, now he had a sore shoulder and a nasty scrape on his face. Pryderi was going to kill him. Maelon licked his fingers and reached up to gingerly touch the wound on the side of his face, cursing under his breath. Damn that kid. The dark chocolate Sin looked up in search for the brat only to find him safely in the hands of a security guard. Nice. Oh wait, was the guard looking at him? Not so nice. The preteen gestured to his face, before shrugging his shoulders in a manner that suggested helplessness. "He stomped on my toe and then decided to try and attack me. I was only defending myself." He wasn't entirely sure he'd get out of this one, but who's to say he wasn't going to try?

While Mae was talking to the man, Jack managed to wiggle out of his sweater. As soon as he hit the ground he took off running, hiding himself among the crowd. Because he didn't want to be caught again and get a boring lecture from Aunt Ul, he hid himself in the center and shouted out, "FIRE!" The mosh pits turned into a mess, people shoving and punching to try to get to the narrow stairs leading to the only exit. Jack was somewhere amidst all of this, getting kicked around and biting back. Well, this was worse than just a fight. He'd incited a riot.

The security guard apparently seemed to notice that his load was quite a bit lighter than it had been moments ago, and Maelon used the man's surprise to slip away. Ha. There we go. The dark chocolate Sin'aeis moved to hide behind Bae, though his new body guard proved to be little use. The moment Jack screamed fire and the mosh pit turned crazy Bae screamed and started to run in circles. Apparently the boy had never been stuck in a crowd during a fire drill. Mae rolled his eyes and grabbed Bae by the ear, dragging the boy through the crowd in an attempt to get out. He was in no rush though, and seeing as the entire crowd was in a frenzy being calm was probably a good thing.

Finally, after what seemed like an hour for Maelon - who was now pressed up against way too many sweaty bodies than he'd like to be – he finally managed to push Bae up through the door and outside. The Sin boy grumbled under his breath, deciding that he'd have to kill whoever yelled fire when it really seemed like a false alarm. b*****d. Probably as bad as that weird kid too. Bleh.

Unfortunately for Jack, when he had yelled Fire someone had pulled the actual alarm, causing the place to be surrounded by cops and fire trucks by the time he managed to get out. He had lost sight of the guard, though he was pretty sure he wasn't going to get his sweater back. That man, and the kid he'd been fighting with, knew it was him, and he'd probably get in even more trouble for this. He tried weaving his way out of the flood of people but yet again, managed to run right into his new enemy. "********>
