The eldest daughter of Kamilika and TaZiyan strode from the den to greet the new morning, pausing just outside to stretch her waking muscles. Leaning out on her forepaws so that her chin nearly touched the ground, her tail flicked the air above her head as her claws massaged the stray pebbles slowly. It would be a good day, she could feel it in her bones. Purring contentedly, she looked back into the dark mouth of the den to see which, if any, of her siblings had woken with her and would come out to play. She had considered waking Mzuzu to accompany her, as Matlai had apparently run off dragging Alphons behind him no doubt. Safuma was in a mood to play, to explore and to meet new people. She had met the red pelted adolescent and now was keen to make more friends, and the dawn seemed promising.
Casting her scarlet eyes over the landscape, she slowly made her way down the slope of Pride Rock before tumbling to the springy, grassy earth below. Rolling onto her side, her tail flicked the dirt patiently as her ears swivelled forward, ever alert for the sound of approaching companions or danger.

((kater doesn't have a spiff image for intombi's growth yet. x) she'll just stay in the background until moon replies with the other little girle. :3 then y'all can find her or something fun like that.))
It seemed that with every day, Intombi found herself more alone. Her mama was almost constantly away now, trying to feed both herself and her two steadily growing children. Her brother seemed to be loosing his appetite to play with her, as well. The saddest part was that now that she had her ovable hair flip, she had no one to show it off to! She spent hours each day grooming it to get it set just in the right position, yet there was nobody around to love it. What's the point of getting all dolled up all the time if you have no place to go?
Another thing that had come with her maturing body and mind was the need to move. She'd been straying farther and farther into the Pridelands in the past little while, wandering about the families as if she were one of them. She liked to pretend she belonged to this little piece of paradise some days, lapping up water alongside pride members and grooming with a group of cubs. No lion had yet to question her; they had all assumed she was just a cub they had yet to see.
Due to her recent lack of socialization and her constantly roaming paws, it was no surprise that she was deep within the heart of the Pridelands. She really didn't know just how close to the royals she was; all that she knew was she had yet to bump into a pride lion to play with. What a shame. Suddenly, she came to the realization that she was looking for company, but had yet to groom since entering the pride territory. With a shocked face that could rival an actress, she immediatley flopped down on the course grasses and licked. And licked.... and then licked a bit more. The art of feline grooming involves a lot of that.

((I ish here! xD -kills the smallness of the post- It seemed so big ;-; ))
There would have been no point in Safuma waking her, because the moment the soft sound of padding paws against rock had reached her ears, the copper cub's eyes had opened. She blinked those scarlet eyes for a moment as the blurry image of her eldest littermate focused, and she rose from her sleep to follow. She ducked into a lazy stretch, yawning, and then picked up her stride and trotted after Safuma. She didn't know why she had this morning - she hadn't any other morning - and she would later come to say that it had been the magic welling inside her that had compelled her to awaken and follow.
As it was, she bounded down the slope of Pride Rock - ah, her beloved home - after Safuma. Perhaps it was also a day for fun. Mzuza savored the word. She didn't often come to the decision that she should have some fun. She was far too mature for that. Dropping into a crouch, she crept forward silently toward her unwitting sister.

The little cub's ears flicked as a fly landed on the tiny tufts of hair, but a sound reached her as the lobes shifted, funneling sound from another direction. It was a familiar sound and not far off, that of a rough tongue licking fur. She lifted her head, though for the most part her body remained flopped sideways over the little patch of dirt. It more than likely was a nanny looking after some other cub who had risen so early, or another larger lion grooming his or herself as they greeted the day. She didn't think it would be a cub on her own, though really it was a silly thing not to consider. The thought of allowing her lazy bones to take precedent was overtaken by her cubbish desire to investigate the noise and she pulled herself quickly to her feet.
Her paws kneaded the dirt and pebbles beneath her feet, sniffing the air for a moment as if in an attempt to scent for danger. Perhaps it would be best to give a warning yip, but she didn't much feel like it. Glancing about her, she took in the landscape as she was torn with the indecision of going back to drag a sibling out with her and investigating the sound herself.
ooc; giving zu the opportunity to pounce, or if intombi wants to interject now, that's fine. 8D

((-posts out of turn because Zu wants to pounce- xD))
Slowly... Softly... Be one with the earth... Mzuza coached herself silently, her tail almost brushing the ground to act as a rudder for balance. Every muscle was tense as she took painstaking steps, slowly... It didn't seem as if Safuma had heard her yet - she would have leapt up if she had, surely. It boosted the copper cub's confidence, and with her scarlet eyes narrowed, she crept ever closer until she was scarcely two cub-lengths away. She glided forward, silent as a shadow, nearer and nearer until... "GERONIMOOOOO!" She launched herself toward her golden-pelted sister.
Geronimo. Even as she was falling toward Safuma, she wondered where that had come from. Geronimo. It rolled off her tongue gently. She savored the word. It sounded... magical.

The only reason that Saf did avoid being pinned beneath her darker pelted sister was because she was already standing to investigate another smell coming from beyond the two of them. Another sound, another being that was just out of sight. Squirming away from Zu with a little bit of a yip, she turned to her with wide eyes before exclaiming and allowing a smile to claim her features, "Zu, you scared me! And what's geronimo?" Her lips stumbled with the word before she cast a glance in the other direction.
Looking to her sister, her voice dropped in volume to just above a whisper, "Someone else is out there."

((I'll post out of turn again, and then we can force kater to reply xD))
The tan cub squeaked as Safuma stood. She tumbled to the ground and lay in a tangle of paws and tail. Quick as a flash, her little teeth sought out her sister's tail, but just as she was about to gnaw on the golden tail, Safuma squirmed away. Failure again. With a huff, Mzuza pulled herself off the ground and shook herself in a futile attempt to rid her coat of dust and sand. So much for her fun moment. As she reached up with a paw to smooth the fur on her forehead (which had, of course, been mussed up in her most ungraceful fall), she answered, "It's a word," She said matter-of-factly. "It's a magic word." She added, finishing dusting herself off before stepping up next to her sister. Promptly, she stuck her nose into the air and sniffed, not quite so subtly. And there it was, a strange scent wafting toward her that she did not recognize. It wasn't a Pridelander, she was sure. She would have noticed if it were a cub from the pride.
She dropped her voice to match her sister's. "You're right..." Dropping to a crouch, she crept forward a step. And then another. Who could it possibly be?

((ooc i'm so sorry for the long wait, guys. <33 i was going to reply last night, but then my mom got sick and dad had to take her to the hospital. :/ i was home and all, but my muse was kind of shot for the night to do the nerves and what not. sorries. <333))
Running her claws through her hair flip, Intombi involved herself with 'brushing' it to the just so position. In order for it to be perfect, the smaller tip had to be just off the side of her left eye, and the rest had to be slightly tilted in that direction. Without a conventional straightener and comb, such a feat could be a bit hard to get. The juve, however, was completely oblivious to it, and groomed away. She was so involved in the process, she didn't hear or smell the siblings comming down the way. It was complete chance that, as she lifted a hind leg for licking, she took in a deep enough breath that a scent was picked up. Her brows perked a bit, and her head turned round towards the pair. She could not see them, but she could most deffinatley smell them. At first, she thought it was simply the mingled scents of the Pridelanders who had passed by this very spot the other day... but it was far too fresh for that. With an excited yip, she forgot about grooming (at least for a few moments), and jumped up to get a better view.
"Heeelllloooooo oooouuuttttt tttthhhheeeerrrreeeee?" A bright smile adorned her pink and brown features, her glee for finding a new lion radiating from ever fiber of her being. Perhaps it was a cub? A playmate?! Maybe they knew Noyana, too! Intombi hadn't seen her since she was just a little thing. With all of these happy thoughts swimming in her head, she didn't even notice that her hair tuft wasn't tilted to the side.

(ooc: it's okay, lovely. <3333 i hope she's alright?)
The little cub raised her head quickly at the sound of someone calling. Her ears swivelling forward and backward as she tried to evaluate the situation; fight, flee or play? The voice had sounded definitely female, and older though she could tell by how much. She dropped to a crouch like her sister, shoulder blades moving in a quick, rhythmic motion as she darted toward the brush, making her way as quietly as a cub could toward the noise. She couldn't help a playful bat at her sister with her tail as she walked by, and a smile tugged at her lips as she went forward.
There it was - or she was, to be more precise. Just on the otherside of the brush was a lion cub a tad older than she and her sister with a brown and pink coat. It was pretty enough to rivel flowers, and Safuma smiled with wonder at the pinkness of it. Her tail swished before she made the decision to break cover, sitting at the edge of the bush, "Hullo!"

"Hey!" Mzuza turned around to look at her tail. What was with all the tail-batting in this family? She had always wondered why all lions were tempted to bat at each other's tails. Besides, who knew who was out there? What if she was dangerous? It was obviously no time to be playing silly little games like batting tails!
She crept up beside Safuma, and saw the older cub. A coat of browns and pinks. A Pridelander? Mzuza didn't think so. She was still pondering this when Safuma rose from their cover. "Wait, no!" Mzuza hissed, desperately trying to grab at her sister's tail. Oh, the silliness of it all! Why hadn't Saf just stayed under cover like it would have been smart to do? But she wouldn't let her eldest littermate go and face any amount of unknown danger. Two was always safer than one. So she, too, rose cautiously from where she had crouched and bounded toward Safuma and the older cub.

((ooc she's doing okay. thanks, guys. <33 i love the characters y'all came up with. 8D they're so perfect.))
Queen Obvious, ruler of the lands of duh, Intombi quickly blurted out what came to her mind. She rarely took a moment to think before acting, and this was one of those times where it might've been better to hold her tongue. "WOW. You guys are SMALL!" She giggled, a high pitched cub's laugh. Had she ever been that small? Probablly not... In her mind, she hadn't gotten any larger since birth. Of course, that was the total opposite of true. Unfortunatley, Intombi was a bit on the naive side, though, and wasn't completely aware of the laws of nature quite yet.
Her fit subsiding, the juve bounded excitedly up to meet the pair. After a few moments of looking them over, she sat back happily, deciding that they were perfect canidates for a play day. Of course, they were a bit on the small side... but maybe that would make things more fun? "I'm Intombi!" A smile planted itself firmly on her maw. By this point, her hair flip wasn't the way she had wanted it at all, but she'd yet to notice. It had fallen in its more natural position, with the point hanging just over her left eye. Perhaps some day she'd learn to cope with it not being just right. After all, it wasn't like she had any hair spray out there in the African savannah.

(ooc: i love, love, love intombi XD safu's a little o_o;; )
The little cub blinked owlishly before her scarlet eyes darted between Mzuza and the other lioness with a growing smile. She had ignored Zu's caution, and now found that she had been correct for once in ignoring it. This lioness appeared to be no danger, and was not much older than the two of them anyway. Some part of her was a touch put off by being called 'small' so loudly, especially when the other cub gave a peal of a giggle that made Safuma feel as if the joke were on her. She supposed it was simply the other cub's character and let it slide, thinking that perhaps this Intombi was simply a little less... down to earth than she and her sister. Most of her politeness was put aside for a fellow cub that was obviously oblivious to straight forward manners, which Safuma was secretly glad for. Sometimes it was good just to be a cub. Still, she was not below being civil and holding a conversation, "Nice t'meet you, Intombi. I'm Safuma." She glanced at Zu so she could introduce herself, though her paw itched to bat at her sister and take her ear between Safu's tiny teeth.

((Intombi makes me laaaaugh 8D))
Mzuza came up behind her sister, and blinked at brown lion's comment. Small? She let out a small huff. It wasn't like that lion had never been small! She sat down next to Safuma - because what better thing was there to do than sit down on a day like this? - and watched the older lion carefully. Why she she all pink?
She came back to her senses at Safuma's familiar voice, and turned to catch her sister's glance. Oh, wait. She knew that look. The copper cub stood and sidestepped away from her golden sister. "Don't touch my ears!" She demanded, skittering away from Saf. "I'm Mzuza." She added, almost as an afterthought. How were they certain it was wise to play with a random cub?

((Haha, she amuses me, too. I'm sorta obbsessed with her hair flip 8D))
Intombi stared rather dumbly at the pair, trying to figure out what was so odd about them; besides the littleness, and all. The lighter of the pair, Safuma, definatley had some manners. That was something she herself had never learned. Ma was usually out hunting for her and her brother. There was simply no time to learn the ways of social politeness! The other cub, the darkest of the trio, seemed a bit of a worry-wart at best. She wasn't sure what to make of it. What would a perfectly good, mannered youngster be hanging around with a cautious thing like Mzuza? Slowly, it dawned on her. THEIR EYES! They were both the same deep red. Why, they must be sisters! A look of glee washed over the pink juve. It must be exciting to have a sister. All she had was Rojo, and he didn't play much. What a shame he wasn't female. He'd make a pretty darn good looking lioness, that was for certain.
"Nice to meet the both of ya'." In a sudden bout of manners, she nodded her head kindly. It was something she had picked up from an adult leopardess. Boy, had she ever been frustrated. Very little tolerance for disrespect, that one had. Intombi giggled a little at the thought. Back to the present, though, her company was neither old nor spotted. "You two must be Pridelanders, right? That's cute." Her thoughts trailed off for a moment there. Sisters and living in a pride. These two really had it good, didn't they. "Must be nice being sisters and all. I've only got my brother, and he's not much fun."

(ooc: sorry. muse died for a bit, there. my sinuses are so stopped up the pressure is killing me)
The cub blinked a few times in confusion as she waited for both her sister and this new lioness to speak. She could see Intombi studying the two of them and knew she was being sized up and evaluated. There was no harm in it, though. Intombi's gaze was only inquisitive, not wary nor worth suspiscion. When the glee passed over the cub's face, Safu tilted her head to one side curiously but said nothing. If Intombi had a thought on her mind, she'd say it, Safu was certain of that.
Sure enough, she must have come to the conclusion that Zu was her sister. Neither Safu or her copper coated sister had mentioned that they were related, and Intombi's pointed question drew attention to the fact that the lioness had come to the conclusion on her own. Safu didn't know how she felt about being referred to as cute and her ears pivotted so that they were each facing to either side as she spoke. "Yeah, Pridelanders." She glanced at Zu, grinning mischeviously as she regarded the sudden distance between them. She'd heard Zu's demand, but hadn't paid much heed until now. "Yeah, s'alright." She giggled, "Most of the time. We've got plenty of sisters. Brothers too."
