Its been my sad pleasure to realize
that whenever I see a weight thread, the target is always curvy and plus sized girls.
I see a lot of cruel things being said about the girls and always these horrible extreme pictures of not cury or plus sized but obese women
yet I've only in my whole 2 years on gaia seen 1 thread about heavier set boys.
why is that?
I didn't make this thread to pick on the plus sized boys(they're actually the cuter ones anyhoo heart ) but why are girls targeted more I'm really confused about that

I'm guessing (and being a fat/obese chick it's not too hard to know....) that it's because women take it a bit more personally than a male would. Not saying that guys don't hurt..but..most people who make those threads assume that as women, we'll fall apart or something and feel like crap along with feeling really hurt.
I don't even bother going in and responding anymore. Yes, it does hurt...but it doesn't rule my life. (like it used to...O_o ) People say what they feel anyway. ESPECIALLY on Gaia. I really think that most people don't really care about larger guys than they do towards larger women. Some people just have the mindset that to be an acceptable woman in the world, being fat is totally out. If you don't fit their mold, consider yourself toast. I'm just glad that for every person like that; there are tons more who aren't so judgmental.

My boyfriend likes to cause 'dramas' in GD for some reason.
And he made a thread about how he ******** a 16 year old,me, and he's 20.
They were all calling me ugly cause I was 'fat'.
I got a pm saying I'd be hot if I lost weight.
But if my bf finds me hot then so what?
Apparently I was a slut because none of them bothered to read I was legal here and I wasn't afraid to show cleavage or a pic of me not as covered as some of them were.
Im not ashamed of my body.

Women are expected to be pretty, guys aren't so much.... as long as they can provide, it's all good.
Women may go for the handsome man in a relationship, but it's been proven they tend more twoards the man who looks like a good provider when asked who they'd want to marry.
But yeah, it's also so much easier to get women worked up over their looks, and to gang up on somebody not many are willing to speak up for.
But who cares what some random dumbass GDer 13 year old with no valuble opinion says about other people's weight? We all have our own problems. You have to remember, that person's opinion doesn't make you, and what do you care about the opinion of somebody so hateful as to start a thread bashing a certain type of person? They're doing it for attention.

The measurements were smaller than a certain super models measurements! I couldn't believe my eyes. I think alot of people focus more on girls weight because of media trying to make it like girls should be skinny. It's a "cover girl" kinda thing. It's wrong. I'm not agreeing with it but it happens. Personally I think any type of "fat ppl suck" topic is horrible. They should show some human decency.

I kinda noticed that too.
I noticed that GD teaches pretty much one thing:
If you're fat, gay, religious, NOT religious, a political extreme, or just a b***h, people hate you and you will NEVER BE LOVED.
But because of this, if you happen to be fat, gay, religious, NOT religious, a political extreme, or just a b***h, You instantly become hugely popular and well-liked for being different.

People in the GD can just be plain rude.
I stopped reading stuff there after awhile.
So what if someone is fat?
So what if someone is religious?
I couldn't care less.
That has nothing to do with who that person is inside.
I just feel bad for society.
Especially since all of the people making these stupid comments, are the future.
And I feel bad for their parents.
I'd personally ground them for a year.

yeah, i know what you mean. generally, girls are more prone to take offense to those kind of things. guys are more relaxed and "laisser faire".
GD on the other hand, is getting way out of control with their hatred of plus-sized people. i stay out of there now, because it makes me very angry.

Woman are considered the sex that has to have the most appeal, they're the ones in human society in nature that attracts thet opposite sex, not the males. Therefore people are little more strict towards a woman being fat. Society says no to that, therefore majority of people will. If you think about, our society is still a bit sexist. The girls seem to have to look pretty for the men, the men aren't expected to do that for the girl. Therefore overweight woman is considered as taboo.
It's pathetic, really. I always reply to those threads in the GD. I tell them the truth to it, some people find they can fight back, usually stating every overweight person is ugly, lazy, or eats way too much. Once, I've even posted a thread about myths about overweight people. Lots of GDers actually thank me for what I do. I find the need to stick up for innocent people. Though I have to admit, it does get tiring. gonk
