Personality Nati is, to put it politely, a mean b***h. She dislikes every living thing on principle, can be effortlessly insulting, loves to pick fights, and has a penchant for biting off extremities if someone is foolish enough to point a finger in her face. Because of her less than sunny disposition, Nati is the embodiment of a loner and does not try to make friends. In fact, as of right now she only has two. She has a difficult time showing love to family, but it does come out eventually. Sort of.

Past Nat's family is unique to say the least. Her father is Italian, and her mother is a species of demon descended from the barghest, the monstrous black dogs that haunt churchyards and can foretell death. Other than this, shall we call quirky bit of genealogy, Nat's home life was completely normal. She had an eleven year old sister, Leonora, who lives with her. Her parents have retired to a small island off the main Gambino Isles, and maintain a small vineyard.
Home Natalia lives on Delrado, a Key West-esque island off the coast of the main Gambino Island. It's connected to the mainland by way of a bridge that spans two miles over the water. She has a small house near the restaurant where she works, an inexplicably Spanish-styled two floor home with a front door that periodically falls off the hinges, seemingly just because it feels like it.

About the Hybrids
Natalia and Leonora are the results of human-barghest interbreeding. Before you get any nasty ideas about bestiality, lets put that particular subject to rest - barghests are ghost dogs. Ghosts are capable of possession. A freshly dead human body is still plenty reusable, and barghests are known from time to time to recycle.
The effect of a barghest possession on a human body is highly noticeable. The ears become covered in fur, stretch out into an erect dog's ear, and are fully mobile. Teeth sharpen to points, and the human has a healthy appetite for meat of all kinds. The nails blacken and form into blunt dog's claws, and sometimes pawpads can form on the palms of the hands and on the feet. The eyes change, becoming wholly doglike with the iris stretching to cover any visible sclera. Tails appear over time, covered with thick stiff black fur.
Once a barghest possesses a human body, it cannot leave until the body dies (er, again) - either by old age, sickness, or mortal injury. A barghest-human cannot commit suicide to free itself. The possessed body has an accelerated ability to heal, but any offspring that come from a pairing between the possessed and a human will not have this ability.
Children of barghest-possessed people carry the same dog traits as the parent, but are not limited to the black fur/red eyes genes. Leonora is such a child - she has wheat gold blond hair, and blue eyes. Natalia has blue eyes as well, but has the traditional black fur. Both have the dog claw nails on both hands and feet, tails, dog-like eyes, and dog ears.
Children of barghest-possessed people have no fully barghest form. While the parent will revert to their original ghost dog state after the human body's death, when a barghest hybrid dies there is no reversion. Barghest children cannot predict deaths, but are still closely associated with it - they are born mediums and can sense the presence of the dead, and can see and communicate with them.

About Black Dogs
A black dog is a spectral being found primarily in British folklore. The black dog is essentially a nocturnal spectre, and its appearance was regarded as a portent of death. It is generally supposed to be larger than a physical dog, and often has large, glowing eyes.
It is often associated with electrical storms (such as Black Shuck's appearance at Bungay, Suffolk), and also with crossroads, places of execution and ancient pathways. Its Welsh form is confined to the sea-coast parishes, and on the Norfolk coast the creature is supposed to be amphibious, coming out of the sea by night and travelling about the lonely lanes.
The origins of the black dog are difficult to discern. It is impossible to ascertain whether the phantom originated in the Celtic or Germanic elements in British culture. Throughout European mythology, dogs have been associated with death. Examples of this are the Cŵn Annwn, Garm and Cerberus, all of whom were in some way guardians of the underworld. This association seems to be due to the scavenging habits of dogs. It is possible that the black dog is a survival of these beliefs.
Black dogs are almost universally malevolent, although few (like the Barghest) are held to be directly harmful. Most are a portent of death, or are in some way associated with the Devil. Some, however, like the Gurt Dog in Somerset and the Black Dog of West Peak (below) are benevolent.
About Barghests
Barghest, Bargtjest, Bo-guest or Bargest is the name given in the north of England, especially in Yorkshire, to a mythical monstrous black dog with huge teeth and claws. It is said to frequent a remote gorge named Troller's Gill. There is also a story of a Barghest entering the city of York occasionally, where, according to legend, it preys on lone travellers in the city's narrow streets and alleyways.
The derivation of the word barghest is disputed. Ghost in the north of England was once pronounced guest, and the name is thought to be burh-ghest, town-ghost. Others explain it as German Berg-geist, mountain spirit, or Bar-geist, bear-spirit, in allusion to its alleged appearance at times as a bear. Another mooted derivation is 'Bier-Geist', the 'spirit of the funeral bier'.
