One of the most original and innovative bands in the field of doom metal, Khanate took the roots of blues/hard rock/doom, extracted from them the fundamental elements and combined them in their own way. They took their name from the area controlled by a khan.

The only drone that I can truely say I love. Very unsettling, sinister atmosphere that I can't get enough of. My third favorite project from O'Malley.

Don't like Earth or Moonn?

Haven't really listened to them enough to get a strong opinion about them. I tend to lose a lot of focus when I'm listening to drone and they lose my attention a lot, but I've been digging a lot of Sunn 0)))'s latest stuff, Altar and Oracle mostly.

I do really like Beyond Black Void, though. Desolate is an amazing album.

Don't like Earth or Moonn?

Haven't really listened to them enough to get a strong opinion about them. I tend to lose a lot of focus when I'm listening to drone and they lose my attention a lot, but I've been digging a lot of Sunn 0)))'s latest stuff, Altar and Oracle mostly.

I do really like Beyond Black Void, though. Desolate is an amazing album.

That hits me too, the attention span part. Have to be in the right mood for sure, but i strongly reccomend Moonn.

I almost cried when my friend told me that Khanate broke up. The rawness of that emotion is so pure. I love it.

I have to say I now really like the S/T especially Pieces of Quiet, just so raw and abrasive.
