We have a lot of Magic players amongst our ranks. I would like to set up some kind of "people play each other online because online Magic is fun!" thread. I suppose this is my opportunity!

Magic Online: the officially-licensed online Magic variant that requires ownership of digital cards. download program

Magic Workstation: graphics-based third-party client, uses TCP/IP to connect to opponents with downloadable image packs.
download program // download images (you must register an account with this site, but it's free etc.)

Apprentice: no graphics, very light in processor demand, uses TCP/IP to connect to opponents.

Post the times you're available to play on average, your choice program, preferred format, etc.

First off:

I primarily use Magic Workstation, because I like the pretty pictures and can't afford Magic Online atm. Usually I'm around between noon EST and 10 PM EST, though this is subject to change. Feel free to send me an IM or something using my contact info if you wish to GET IT ON.

I play every format, though I prefer Standard because the games are a little more balanced.

Secondly:

We need to establish how we're going to control ban lists/format compliance.

I will play on Magic Workstation because I would prefer pictures and Magic Online does cost money...

As for times, I'm online off and on throughout my waking hours. You will never find me online between 4 am and 9 am CST, though.

And I am quite a newbie, so don't slaughter me too badly.

I've got a Classic-legal rainbow deck and yet another tuning of my not-legal-ANYwhere Rainbow Chickens of Death deck set up in MWS. Holler if you want a game; I'll play if I can.

I used to use Apprentice with Tagra. It's pretty good.
