So I have a small topic here now. Many people seem to question if it's OK to read, say, Harry Potter and play RPG games where you have mages, and wizards, and spells.
My view is this: If you believe in it, that's wrong. But if you play with it and don't see anything aside from a game or story it's fine.
I mean, Lord of The Rings, and the Chronicles of Narnia have a Christian basis in them, and they use spells and the like to show good and evil. I know that it's just amusing to play a game and you are a great mage warrior, or dress your avvie up as a dark rider. I don't really think it affects us unless we take it to a darker level. Some things are just intended for entertainment, nothing more.
But some things, like those boards (I forgot what they are called) are wrong. I think we just have to identify things to see if they are evil or not. Satan can hide in things if we become obsessed with them, but by having a healthy relationship with God and letting him guide our hearts I don't see anything wrong with enjoying a fantasy game or Harry Potter book.
What do you think? 3nodding

The state of your mind and your faith decides on 90% of your reality... just keep thing in perspective and don't try to get to deep.

Sound like you have about the same philosophy I have about that kind of stuff. The thing to remember is that we need to make God our first priority in our life, and make the rest of our decisions based on what God wants for us. After that the Holy Spirit will guide us in the right direction.
As for the board thing you were talking about, you mean a Ouija board right. That is something that opens you up to satan and demons for sure.

I find the boards themselves to be rather stupid and harmless but the thoughts and intentions of the users is what makes the board evil. No one should attempt to call spirits, talk with spirits, or do any sort of scrying...
The bible said it could be done and that it was a sin...

I tend to avoid things I know are wrong. Thanks for filling me in on the name of the boards. ^___^ I was always confused as to what they were as a kid, and I'm glad I never fooled with one. My family and the Church answered all I needed to know.
We can't cast everything as evil, but there are certain things that just are, and shouldn't be toyed with.
But playing with a bunch of pokemon won't make you sin. Neither will playing Harry Potter with you cousin. sweatdrop

I agree with Dark Regrets on her statement. I don't think playing card games or video games is so wrong.

Ok...I am not a member and...I am an atheist (No I am not here to flame you like other morons I have seen around here, that is just wrong.) But I wanted to put my view into here sweatdrop
It seems to me that there is nothing wrong with reading about magic or watching anime and such, because if you truly believe in religion than it won't matter. You will see it as entertainment and nothing more. Only someone who wasn't totally into his or her faith can get shaken up by a book with magic in it...I mean it isn't like Harry Potter is directly bashing the bible or your religion in a totally spiteful way, in that case it would be understandable if iyou wouldn't want to read it 3nodding
As for Ouija boards, I can see how they would be considered demonic but I don't believe it holds any real power. When you get down to it it's just a piece of plastic that people move around to answer questions, and most of the time their moving it where they want it to, even if its subconscious.

There have been strange reports with Ouija boards that lead some to believe that spirits actually attacked some board users. It all depends how serious the people are and what spirits are hanging around.
