Great minds think alike.
After finding out about the whole 'secret of 52' (if you aren't already aware of the worst-kept spoiler in a long while, highlight:
the multiverse still exists) I ended up coming up with a hypothetical situation:
Alternate Earth-2 where the Garricks had kids. It's known that the first Flash has a metagene which gives him his superspeed, and it makes sense that it'd be hereditary. On the alternate Earth-2, he'd been dead for a while but his family had taken on the name, and my version (also, amusingly enough, called Jane) was his granddaughter, the third of the line.
Aaaand there's more to it than that, but I won't bore you with the details. I sit and think about stuff on the way to school and my mind goes in all kinds of convoluted tangents.
Oh, and if you are writing a fanfic about the next generation of the originals, you could also use canon descendants like Obsidian and whatever Wildcat's kid was called. I'd be interested in seeing that.
