Adopting Mother's name: Kia
Date of adoption: Unknown

Mother's Personality: Somewhat plain and extremely shy, it's almost confusing as to how this young woman became pregnant at all. With soft eyes and a sheepish smile, she seems far too young to be giving birth so soon. She is used to the 'normal' and anything 'abnormal' seems to make her a bit... Jumpy.

The Biological Mother

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Mita stays pretty quiet about her past now. But some things slip through...

Mita is the youngest sister, and has nieces.
She was raised mostly by a nurse.
Mita was used to being protected by Guards.
Mita was always able to slip off for hours or days for 'walks'. Nurse was only one aware.

User ImageName:

Kia (Pronounced Ky-ah.)

Before Fa'e:

She's ... not exactly from past lives directly. She was created with the awareness and memories of two women, but with her own being.
The first woman she is connected to was the daughter of Aten/Ra, and the Bennu of Egypt. The second woman was a common girl born at the very start of Egypt's golden age.

Age:

Looks in her early-mid twenties. Acts early twenties.

Appearance:

Kia now has blonde/gold hair, and dark brown eyes. She's still around 5.5"/5.6", curvy figure.
No physical marks at all, which may seem strange... but she's been like that since she had Nozomi. She still has Hoshi's star on her shoulder.

She always lines her dark eyes with Kohl, and for special occasions, wears henna on her hands and feet.

Birthday:

14th Febuary.

Family in the past:

Nyoka was connected to her at one point.

Romance status:

...not too clear at the moment. Is with Taka, but Taka has vanished off the face off the earth again.

Sexuality:

Never been experimented... but Kia would probably find gender never an issue.

Magical Talents/Other:

These days, Kia's magical talents don't seem very obvious or amazing.

She's not psycic anymore, though she still has her extreme sensitivity to anything energy wise around that. She can't block things anymore, and she can't send messages/images/words/feelings. (Or anything along those lines.) Still can recieve, to a point, but can't send.

Kia's other half that was never really explored as a young girl, the Bennu half to do with fire, is still unexplored and untrained. But for the moment, she's able to touch or be in regular fire without being burnt. Her clothes aren't immune, nor anything else on her. Just her.
Her wings aren't strong. She can't fly with them yet, and she has been too busy as a young mother to think about it.

Likes:

Many things.

Favorite Color:

Purples, blues, golden yellows, oranges, reds. Rich colors. Also white.

Favorite Food:

Cheesecake!

Personality:

Kia's loving to her friends, always there with a cuddle or a hug. But because of her origion, she never really understands why exactly her friends find it hard to look or talk to her when she's wearing her ... most comfortable clothing. Which is usually along the lines of 'less is more!'

She's growing up fast now though, and getting lonely with her obligation as a young mother. Kia's still got a childish spark, and she probably will always have one, but she's finally discovering what it is to grow up. (Finally!)

Dislikes:

Being alone, or not having enough of a social life.

Worst foods:

Kia has a lot of trouble hating any food. She loves food.

Hobbies:

Dancing with sparkly/sharp/shiny things, her children, herbs and healing...

Background/Character History

Past Relationships:

Currently: Looking for a job! Kia loves that Taka supported them, but she loves being able to support them as well.

Taka was still at work. Kia wouldn't expect him home for a while, hours perhaps, maybe even a few days. If his manager was a good one, he would give Taka a hotel room. Kia worried about the drive home, on the motorbike or in the car, after hours of working.

But tonight, she was worried about him coming home too early. Kia was having a guest over for dinner, someone she had been buzzing around all day trying to prepare for. Earlier that day, she'd recieved a letter and a phone call. The letter was from the adoption agency, accepting her to be a mother. But the phone call... it was the mother herself. She, by coincidence, had called the exact moment Kia had opened the letter.

Sure that Kia had half frightened her to death her by the squeals, screams, a insistent 'Come to dinner tonight!' and 'HUG THE PHONE' comments, Kia was a little glad that Taka wouldn't be there for dinner. She wanted to present a really nice calm attitude, with lots of really normal food (Kia wasn't sure how well the guest would take to some of her favourite foods, after all). And maybe, she wouldn't scare this poor woman off.

A large roast lamb in the oven was cooking away, filling the air with the smell of herbs and cooking meat. It was cooking with potatoes, both flavouring the other. Kia had figured out that trick a few months earlier. There was fruit juice with ice, air conditioning on and Kia had kept the hot kitchen shut off from the rest of the house, somehow containing the heat in that one room. She'd prepared the salad and ice tomato soup in the dining room, just to keep them good.

Clearly, it was a huge evening for Kia.

Tiegan sat in the dining room where Kia could keep an eye on her, dressed in a little fancy set of loose cool pants and a t-shirt. The toddler had long ago made it clear that pants were better than a skirt, Tiegan had a habit of skinning knees. Tie's big gold eyes followed Kia with half-interest, while she held a pretend phone to her ear and dialed random numbers.

Kia, with time to spare, flopped down at the well made dining table and watched the fishtank.

She wasn't sure what to expect. The phone call had been from a payphone, Kia could tell, from the sounds of a road behind. The mother's voice was quiet, Kia had trouble hearing it over the traffic, but she sounded nice. She didn't say much, probably because Kia tended to overwhelm her. But she was coming to dinner, and she sounded glad that she was coming. That part of it Kia was glad to hear.

The doorbell rang, and Tiegan dropped the phone in shock. Having only just pressed ' mrgreen ' on her phone, she hadn't expected to do that! Uncertainly holding the phone out to Kia, she watched as Kia raced to the door with a clear air of confusion.

To Tiegan, the appearance of a person coming in through the door almost made her drop the phone again. Staring at the ' mrgreen ' button, Tie tried to press it again. Could she make daddy come home now?

"Daddy"

...' mrgreen '

"Daddy."

...' mrgreen '

It didn't work, and Tie's face dropped. Maybe the woman was magic, like in books.

Kia, who hadn't noticed Tie's behaviour, was letting in the woman as she attempted to not stare. The woman was young, maybe Kia's age, maybe less, and was thin. Well, she was pregnant. That part of it all was obvious, a large bludge of baby underneath a fading and slightly ripped pink dress. But she was slightly bony too, and looked like she'd topple over head first at any moment, from either the weight she carried or the weariness that was evident in Damita's dark lines around her eyes and the way she kept blinking.

"Welcome, I'm Kia! You must be..." Pausing, Kia blinked. Had the woman said the name? It had been on the letter but...

"Damita." Damita's brown eyes darted from Kias' face to the wings, and back to her face again as if she couldn't believe they were real. "I... um... called you earlier and..."

"Yes, and dinner is nearly ready! Do you want to come sit down?" Kia gestured to the nearby living room, taking Damita's hand and almost ready to pull her towards the couch. Her instincts were starting to already fuss over the frail pregnant girl, forgetting that Kia wasn't much older. Luckily, Damita allowed Kia to lead the way, not fussing or pulling away. Kia swept a hand to the couch and the armchair, and hurried again out of the room. "I will go get Tie, just a moment."

Damita sat carefully, hands folded in lap and tried to not stare. These habits of hers were hard to keep, Damita's back ached and her body cried out for rest. She, although not really willing to admit, had been travelling for the past month and was exhausted. It was hard to say anything to the energetic mother though. Damita cursed her habits and obsession to follow them, somehow managing to lean across the side of the couch onto the soft fabric. Once she'd started, it was hard to stop, and by the time she heard footsteps, Damita was resting on the couch with her legs tucked up underneath her.

Kia returned with Tie, set the toddler on the floor and sat down across from Damita. "Would you like a drink?"

"Yes please, iced juice if it's possible." Damita's body had been craving for it for a long time. She was glad when Kia seemed to brighten, because she wasn't sure what she'd do if there wasn't iced juice. But she also could feel her mind going woozy again, and the strange feeling of dreaming already making itself known.

Kia got up and left to make it. She took five minutes only, but when she'd returned, she found Damita had fallen asleep on the side of the couch, with Tiegan curled up on the floor nearby.

"...shh, Tie." Kia whispered, putting her hand to her mouth. Tie went quiet immediately. She knew this game well. It was called 'quiet fish'.

Once Tie was in the hallway, Kia turned off the lights and pulled a light blanket over the young woman. Dinner was cooked, and it was a very special dinner, but how could Kia wake up the woman now?

She left a 'dinner in fridge' note beside Damita on the coffee table, and went into the kitchen with Tie to serve the food onto plates anyway. Damita's food was labelled nicely, her salad, soup, and dinner all ready. Kia was determined to fatten Damita up.

Damita had taken up tempuarly home in a nearby bed and breckfast.

It was set in the forest and bush, overlooking a river. Damita's rented unit was designed to give both privacy and views, with the entire wall facing the river and bush made of glass and wood. It had that 'nature' feel to it, but it was comfortable and cool. There was even steps down to the river, where anyone could swim in the waterhole.

The women running the B & B had taken Mita and her pregnancy under her wing as fast as Kia had. Mita had found herself propped up on a couch in air conditioning, with everything paid by Kia and things brought to her by an over-entusastic middle aged woman.

Mita's reaction to fa'e lives had been a bit nervy. She and Kia had decided that they'd always meet at the B&B... a place of normal things and run by a normal human... so slowly Damita started to unwind and relax.

Kia brought Tie over as much as she could. While Tie played in the waterhole, Kia and Mita would watch Tie and talk about things. Mita remained quiet about everything, but some things slipped.

She was young, the youngest of her family. She was used to having the best of everything, and havign people expect the best of her. But Mita hadn't exactly been what people wanted her to be. She'd take chances to escape for walks, Kia suspected that had something to do with the baby's father, and sometimes wouldn't return for a few weeks. No one had minded her vanishing. No one had noticed, save for her nurse.

Mita had left because a pregancny would have ruined her and her family, and she'd probably have been sent out onto the street when the baby was born. Mita had been able to slip away without notice or worry, with the nurse's help. She hadn't been too bad off at first, but Mita wasn't accustimed to being without her family or guard's protection. No one really harmed her, luckily, and as she grew more and more pregnant, people were willing to help her. When she'd heard of the adoption agency, it had been a godsend.

Kia had listened patiently to it all, but her mind goggled. Guards, nurses, and romantic escapes... It made her want to secretly follow Mita as she returned home after the pregnancy to discover what the secret was.

The pregnancy and baby were more important though, than secrets. Mita was always glad when Kia would break one of Mita's 'I've said too much again' pauses with a question about how she felt, what had happened that day.

As the days went on, there was one outstanding problem. Kia hadn't told Taka yet.
And she really didn't know if 'Taka, look what I found!' would really work.

Quote:
Dear Diary

Mita is full of secrets. Lots and lots of them.

The pregnancy is going well, and she is not turning into a snarling beast like I used to. In fact, she is very sweet and nice and not at all snarly. I think she must have a huge secret with how to stay normal, because I didn't know how at all.

The baby is getting really big, I think. I don't know if it is a boy or a girl yet, Mita doesn't care. (She likes either idea.) But she's content anyway.

I sent Mita to the bed and breakfast run by the human woman who also runs that fabric shop. She is happy there, she seemed a bit worried around the house. But then, she told me she is not used to purple skinned men and winged people. I hid pictures of other fa'e in case she was worried we were all mutants and would run off with the baby. Tie makes her feel a lot better about us though, because Tie is clearly nearly normal.
And everyone loves Tie!

Tie likes this pregancy thing, she keeps clucking to Mita's tummy. I told her that her baby brother or sister was growing in there, like an egg, and soon it would come out like how a horse has a baby. So she thinks there's an egg there, and she is excited about seeing 'baby coming out in GOO'. I think she can be babysat during it... poor Mita having to hear that.

Taka doesn't know. I am afraid to hint at 'baby', what if he thinks I got pregnant again? I know that showing up with Mitababy is a bad idea, but it seems really good right now.

Oh well. Tie's bedroom is nearly finished, and I have got to do it before the baby comes.

Kia.

Dear Diary

CHRISTMAS!

Tiegan was there and Taka wasn't, and neither was Mita but that's ok. I think anyone who thinks Christmas is just for shopping needs to spend christmas with a child!

I was up at three am to wrap all the presents. I wanted to give Tiegan LOTS of presents, piled up just like in the movies.

It did not look like the movies. I can not wrap unless there's lots of sticktape all over the presents. (It falls apart otherwise)

But I had the fire going early, so that the room would be toasty warm. There was snow falling lightly outside, and the presents were around the tree. And the stockings were filled with things.

Momam sent me presents, so my presents were there as well. There were also presents for the baby when it comes, and I had done Tiegan's big girl bedroom for Christmas.

Mita had presents as well. She promiced to come for Christmas dinner, but she said she wanted to be alone for the morning.

Maybe I am crowding her too much? She seems very private.

Anyway Tiegan came down and woke me up. She was all excited, and talking, and telling me about Santa and how she'd heard him and dreampt about him.

And when she got downstairs, she didn't unwrap. She RIPPED!

There was paper and toys and bits of box everywhere, and Tiegan couldn't decide what present to play with first.

I gave Tiegan a big lego set, Mom helped me find pieces. And she has her very own four person tent now, a real one. I know she is always saying she wants to go camping on her own, and she's too little. But I think maybe I can learn how to camp and we can go together on our land.

Also I gave her some more barbie dolls, but I think they weren't as interesting.

And there was some soft toys, and these sciance kits that I think Tiegan can do, and a furby, and now she has her very own hiking backpack. A grownup one! Too big for her. But she likes to put her toys in it and drag it around with her.

There were lots of things, but they were the ones she has not let out of her sight.

She also got a mask from one of the shops in Aekea. Tiegan likes that mask too.

I had to convince her that she couldn't use her tent outdoors till it warmed up. So she is clinging to the other presents.

But then something really strange happened. While I was cooking the christmas dinner, the hospital called me. And htey said I had to come in right away, ebcause Mita was in labor.

Mita had given birth on Christmas morning and didn't tell me!

I turned off all the foo and Tiegan and I rushed into the hostpital but I had just missed the end. Mita was guilty but it's ok. She said that she was nervous and wanted to be alone to do it.

I was a bit upset. But then the nurse put a small baby in my arms, and said that it was a boy.

I don't remember much after that... I signed papers, I think. I was in a daze!

Mita and the baby boy are still in hospital, the baby boy is being observed and she is too, she had a hard birth.

I wish I was there, and I'm upset at her that she didn't call me. But she has agreed to move close by, because we have become friends over the past few months.

I thought she would be sad that she would not have the baby, but she isn't. Mita tried to explain it by saying that she didn't think of herself as a mom, but an aunt... but I don't know how I could do that.

Anyway.

IT'S A BOY!

And I have decided to call him Ammon, after the Sun God Ra. Ammon is my sunshine, he is the warmth that winter took from me. And Tiegan is so happy about him, she thinks I planned it so she would get a brother on christmas too. Tiegan is already asking to go camping with Ammon.

He is so adorable, and he has strange markings! I wonder what his daddy is like.

We are picking him up in a few days. Tiegan has moved into her big girl room, and she is always in the baby's room trying to make it really nice. I have trouble telling her that the baby can't have toys in his crib!

I will go to the adoption agency soon so we can show them Ammon. I wonder if the hospital has already called them?
