Risika sat quietly on a very comfy chair, glancing up form her book from time to time to check on her boys. They were both behaving very well, apparently they both shared a love for reading, and did so quietly. From time to time she would look up whenever she heard Kisten's impish giggles, fearing that she would see him pestering some poor person who happened to stumble upon the small group. However, it seemed that the comic book that Kisten had picked up was just that funny. Trent on the other hand just sat quietly at Risika's feet, leaning gently against her leg as he flipped through a pop up book about the rain forest. Risika wondered why she never brought them to a book store sooner.

Once in a blue moon - well, more like every once in a while when she was feeling not so paranoid - chirigami would actually leave her apartment and the building, much to the gasps from the household [and a few from her neighbors 'So, that's who lives there!']. Today seemed like such a day, but mostly because the her usual tactic of employing the internet to get her basic needs had failed her. It didn't seem to have the answers to her questions, damn google, and also wouldn't let her order her usual supply of manga and books.
Logically, the red head should have headed towards the museum, as her quiries centered around her lovely little paperweight, which was currently kept nice and secure in a wooden box within her sachel, but upon heading in the basic direction - then getting lost - she had found herself in a rather lovely bookstore. Well, could take care of one of her errands, chiri chirped to herself as she meandered down the aisles towards the comic books and manga section.
"kaze ni notte ~ yume no kanata e ~ tonde yukitai ~" She sang lowly, a little off key as she ventured with arms swinging with each step, passing a few people - some with weird looks at her singing and some narrowing their eyes at her disturbing - and even a small group of two little boys and a woman sitting in their chairs. "yuuki to yuu tsubasa wo tsukete ~ tori ni natte ~" I hope they carry Japanese manga ~ Was the only thought she really had in her mind.

Kisten's ears perked suddenly, and he craned his head backwards, soon falling into his back from the awkward angle. Hey that lady was singing a language he didn't understand! Very much like what Aubrey did on a daily basis, but this song sounded different, and the lady was looking at the comics where he had gotten his book. He grabbed hold of his book, leaping to his feet as he made his way toward the lady, tugging at her pants leg.
" Hey lady! Which ones do you like to read? I like anything with pretty pictures, like dis one," he held out the comic book he had grabbed, not for the story line, but because the art on the front was colourful. " Which one you reads?"
Risika glanced up from her book, sighing slightly as she saw that Kisten had ventured off. What was she going to do with him?

"Mou..." chiri sighed defeated, looking over the selection in front of her. Nothing Japanese, nothing new and all the English translations she already had online or in their original language. Her eyes glanced at the English comics, more noteably a Hellboy volume she had never notived before - probably because of the lack of Mick Mignola art. She let her tan fingers hover towards "The Black Wedding" ... that was until....
It took a lot of self control, read a lot, for chirigami to not screech and clammer up the book case or high-tail-it out of the store screaming like she was on fire. The little voices in her heads, the logical ones and few remaining sane ones, reminded her they were in a public building and other people were about and bound to bump into her. Even small little grey children with purple wings who would tug at her blue jeans asking her questions all the while shoving a comic book at her.
"Uh.... etou...." Wide red eyes stared down at the small curious.. uh.. boy? Her brain tried to reboot, heart trying to calm down, the hand that had been reaching for the comic now clutched her deep indigo and yellow shirt that read 'NICE VIBE' upon it. "Eee......." She looked at the cover of the comic he was showing her and made a feeble attempt to look back at the Hellboy volume and grab at it but instead found a volume of 'Fables' in her hand. Well, she had never read it but the cover looked pretty itself... so she showed it to him in hopes to appease his question - and distract him as she calmed down.

Kisten gasped happily, grabbing hold of the offered book and staring wide0eyed at the cover. Now this cover was pretty! He quickly opened the book, flipping through the pages to look at the art. This lady knew what she was looking at.
Risika stood up then, placing a hand on Trent's head to let him know she would be back. She approached Kisten and the woman he seemed to be pestering, smiling apologetically. " I'm sorry is he bothering you? He's a very curious boy." She placed both hands on Kisten's shoulders, squatting down in order to be on the same level as him. " Why didn't you tell mommy you were going somewhere?"
Kisten shrugged, his attention lost in the pages of the manga he now held. He didn't know, he was just so excited that he forgot, that was it!

chirigami stared some more at him silently, still thinking that perhaps running could be good while he was distracted. Yes, run and hide in a hole, that would be good. She bit her lower lip and flicked her gaze towards the shelf next to her and then back down at the amused child. He had taken the last copy of the book.... but maybe that wouldn't mean he would totally take it, right? Though she had accidently grabbed it herself, she thought the cover was pretty too... and wanted it.
"Ee..." She began, eyes not so much saucers anymore, trying to get his attention. She stopped as the blonde woman approached and took the attention of the boy. Oh, she has horns, chiri's brain supplied, [and a tail... kind of like Mr. Tail but not so much... [Said symbiot swished behind her, the tip dancing across the covers of the nearby books.] The red head watched in continued silence as the two conversed, her fingers fidgetting and tightening upon the strap to her bag. Should she ... go?
"Ee?" She suddenly blurted out, "You're his mom? You look nothing alike!" chiri's eyes were once again wide, this time with surprise - and not that shock and fear deer in the head lights look. Once again, chiri seemed to forget... this was Gaia, and well, maybe things could happen. Mr. Tail halted his swishing and really wished for hands at that moment so he could facepalm.

Risika's head cocked to the side, a momentary dullness taking over her brain. She always saw herself as their mother, so when it was finally questioned, she forgot that it was true, she and Kisten looked nothing alike. She laughed then, running a hand through her long hair, a nervous habit she had whenever caught acting stupid. She placed both hands upon Kisten's ears, hoping to dull out her response to the question. She didn't need to though, Kisten was so lost in the manga in his hands that she could have said pratically anything and he wouldn't have heard it.
" Well no, I'm more like a caretaker. Raised them since they were a little rock! I know, awkward but don't ask its a long story." Although maybe perhaps not too much of a long story? This was Gaia after all and getting children from odd means seemed to be very popular, or rather very reoccurring. She took her hands off of Kisten's ears then, smiling brightly toward the other woman. her eyes did linger on her tail though, a smirk crossing her lips as she flicked her own tail in recognition. She loved living here, it made her feel less like a freak.

chiri tilted her own head to the side in confusion, brows knitting together as the blonde woman covered the boy's ears. "Did I say something wrong?" She asked innocently. The red head did have a bad habit of just blurting things out, she didn't understand a lot so she figured asking was the best way to get things explained.... and trying to keep in thoughts made her head hurt.
"A little rock?" She repeated, expression and confusion instantly expelled and now replaced with her usual cheery nature. "That's not totally weird, I had a necklace that turned into a teenager and a can that turned into a goat. I had something like a rock too, well have..." She chirped happily, hands now in her bag and fishing out the wooden box with the relic and kept going a little faster and excited. "I walked to this museum that I used to go to all the time and this weird man with horns," She gestered with one hand to indicate the horns and also a signal for crazy hair, "and stuff gave me this relic and said to take care of it and I was totally surprised 'cause I never expected I'd get to take care of my own Aduthule and such." She sucked in another breathe, pausing mid ramble and slowly opened the box to reveal the little stone paper weight like object she had been caring for. "I was going to go to the museum, 'cause it's been a while since I've had it and they haven't come out of it... and... I got worried maybe I didn't take care of them right or something or somethng bad happened .. or something."
chiri paused again, her mouth kept shut with no indication to go further into babbling. Her red eyes glanced down at the relic and then to the woman, somewhere in the back of her mind she wondered if this was the same situation... and that maybe she could be reassured that things would be okay.
"I'm chirigami, by the way." She added after a moment of silence.
