I don't know about you guys, but when I listen to the Velvet Underground, I just feel like I'm in the 1960s.

I think they pretty much defined the 60s, I mean, with the tone, with the lyrics, everything. Maybe their amps made them give me that nostalgic feeling, maybe.. I dunno.

What do you guys think?<33

Would you ******** me? I'd ******** me.
I'd ******** me hard. I'd ******** me real hard.

When I listen I feel like I'm in a completely different place. The music just almost doesn't sound from this planet <3

Oh yeah, their more poppy stuff is like super '60s

But I guess that underground New York 60s WAS a completely different planet razz I mean sure there were hippies, and most people think that's as far out as it gets. But, they don't know about the New York scene. And, I guess it's t hat they have songs about stuff that just seems like fantasy, but then you realize this is stuff that like went on regularly in the underground heh.

There werent really that many hippies in NY in the 60's...mostly remnants from the beat/coffee house scene. The hippies were upstate, at Woodstock and whatnot. And Drugs+musical genius=VU songs! hard s**t...not weed. Maybe acid though...and dope was kind of a strictly VU thing, it didnt hit anywhere else until the heartbreakers went to England in the 70's and infested everyone with it. THe 60's=a big party. the 70's=the aftermath.

^ Oh if you were talking to me with the hippie thing, I know they weren't in the same place as VU razz That's kind of what I was saying, I think.

haha hellz yeah! I really doubt they hung out with the hippies, more like where Morrison's crowd or Mick Jagger's crowd would have been (which is likley, Jagger and Warhol were friends, I believe).
It really was just like hard core drugs, speed and s**t, heroin (obviously haha), and all that, not hippie land. They represent the nostalgic 60s, not the PEACEE MAN 60s (which is still sweet, but mannnn, i love that VU sound..)
the stones kinda have that too, but its more southern than a new york sound like bayer heroin said. mmm, i love New York<33

The stones were Rock N' Roll cool, the sex appeal, Rock star excess image. The VU were poor, werent that great looking, but were the coolest thing to come out of anywhere, ever. and they sorta followed the Warhol-ism "Think rich, live poor." anyway VU>Stones.

hmm.
I dunno if the VU is a lot better than the Stones..
personally I'm pretty much obsessed with both.
But they had different types of music and different followings.

I dunno if either one of them was better though...

I love them both<333
they both give me that nostalgic feeling
but the VU a little more

haha! The stones were just on shuffle
and then the VU came on.

yeah, VU owns them haha :DD
