Azima lumbered through the pridelands slowly and lazily, he had gotten used to the lands and was comfortable in them. Certainly more comfortable than he should have been, seeing as he was not offically a prideal member. He had grown since he last met Roho, he was taller now and he'd lost his cub fat. Problem was that he hadn't gained much muscel, which bothered him a little. But he didn't complain about it much. And his mane was looking gorgeous, if he didn't say so himself! It wasn't full yet but it was longer and thicker than it had previously been, and it shined nicely because he always kept his fur and mane so clean.

His nostrils flared as he searched around the lands slowly, he wanted to find Roho today. He'd given him much needed space but really, he wanted to prove himself! It was rediculous, how much he wanted to be friends with the other male. But Azima had never done well in the 'friends' department of life and Roho was possibly the closest thing to a friend he had, so he was determined to make this work.

Roho'wa Mamake was growing into a fine figure of a lion. Who would have expected it from the chubby, clumsy cub he'd once been? But even as a juvenile, he'd already been growing into his body. His constant moving - mostly running - had started to build up his muscle tone even at a young age, but now it was really starting to show. His sleek body moved with expected feline grace as he strode through the lush grasses of the Pridelands, his muscles rippling under his golden fur from his shoulders all the way to the tail that ended in a creamy tuft of fur. He didn't have the bulk of an adult, of course, but it was obvious he'd be a big, strong lion when he came of age. And, of course, since he was a handsome young lion even at this age, it was clear he would be when he reached full maturity.

A familiar - and not completely welcome - scent tickled Roho's nose and made him pause mid-stride. No, it couldn't be. His head tilted to the left as though this action would help him verify that it really, truly, honestly was who he thought it was. His fast-growing creamy mane fell into his his gentle brown eyes and his nose twitched as he positively and conclusively identified the scent. Reddy was back. Somehow, despite his earlier minor denial, this did not surprise him.

He had to turn almost one-hundred-and-eighty degrees before he finally caught sight of Azima. Hard to miss that garish red standing out among the neutral, natural colours of the land that Roho blended nicely into. Surprisingly, though, instead of slinking away from Azima, Roho moved toward him. He'd matured since he'd seen Azima last; he'd put the "trauma" of their first meeting behind him, and had moved on past it. He still didn't particularly like Azima, but no longer did Roho feel particularly inclined to attempt to shove the other male from his presence. That didn't necessarily mean, though, that Azima was in his good books. The slightest thing might turn Roho's feelings back to what they had been before.

"Back again?" he called, when he was close enough to be heard without bellowing.

Azima's ears flicked up and he was surprised when he heard Baldy's voice. He turned around and only became increasingly surprised, and a little speachless. He looked much older than last time, certainly he looked older than Azima right now. He was... beautiful. His nose twitched at the odd thought, but he didn't shove it away or deny to himself that he'd found another male attractive, so what? And Roho was even talking to him, not running away or making excuses!

Slowly the disbelief melted from his face and instead a pleased smile slid there in place. "Mmm.. why yes, I rather like this place." He said slowly, trying to collect his words carefully. He felt a little stupid right now, and he was sure it was because of Roho. That and his heart was going way too fast. He wondered if this was supposed to be a normal reaction to a potential friend?

His eyes glided over Roho's form, he was taller then Azima by now! And look at all of that muscel... Azima almost wanted to hide himself. But then realized it wouldn't matter, he shouldn't be ashamed of how he'd grown in conparison to another. Sure he was skinny and might not have been as tall... but he was still clean.. and he still looked... a little older than he had! His build would just never be that bulky, it wasn't his fault!

"I see you've grown hair.." He said slowly, then grinned. "A mane.. anyways." He wasn't trying to poke fun at Roho any longer, oh no! But he didn't really know what else to say to the other boy, it almost felt a little awkward to Azima. Like a dog who chases after cars... what would a dog actually do if he'd ever caught a car? That was what Azima felt like when around Roho, who had always seemed to reject him and this was the first time the other has seaked him out, as opposed to the other way around. Well... almost, Azima did come to these lands for the sole reason of finding Roho.

"Guess I have to find a new nickname for you." He winked.

Roho watched with interest as different expressions passed over Azima's face, idly wondering at the reasons for them. Somehow, he got the vaguest idea that he had managed to gain the upper paw in this meeting, though why he got that feeling he was unsure. Was it just because he had confidently made the contact this time? No, that couldn't be right. He had the first time, hadn't he? He certainly hadn't been in control that time.

He didn't have long to dwell on the matter before Azima was speaking, and slowly he lowered his body to sit. "You must do, otherwise you wouldn't keep coming back. Isn't it nice wherever you're from? Nothing pretty there to make you want to stay?" Those words from anyone else might suggest that the speaker wanted the listener to leave and remain where they came from, but not from Roho. His tone was simply honestly curious.

He glanced upwards to look at the strands of the silky light mane falling into his eyes with a smile. His mane was coming along nicely; before long, it would be full and bouncy all around his face, and he looked forward to that day. "I guess you do, don't you? Yours can stay the same, though."

Azima seemed to be watching the golden lion's every move and when he sat Azima slowly did the same, his posture horrible but he looked rather comfortable. His tail tip flicked back and forth, his ears perked.

"It's plenty nice in the Kusini lands." He said quietly, eyes finally skittering away from Roho. They were foccused more to the south; the direction of his home. "Actually it's much different from this land. A lot more diversity in the landscape.." He shrugged his shoulders. "But I feel there are... prettier things here." He grinned cheekily but he didn't hint much on what was pretty, and certainly he didn't mean Roho. He wondered what the other lions were like in these lands, he'd never met any of them. Except that other cub... She'd seemed pretty friendly. His lands were full of family; that was boring. Of course he couldn't realize that these lands were full of his family as well!

Azima's right ear twitched and he just laughed, remembering Roho's first attempt at hurting his feelings. Only atempt... hopefully. He didn't count the 'i have to go meet my sister' thing as an attempt to hurt him. Rather... he knew Roho just hadn't liked being around him. He'd change that! "Or you could call me Azima and I could call you...?" He paused, waiting for a name as he realized he'd only known this pridelander as Baldy.

As Azima had looked south, so had Roho, as though he could magically see all the way to the Kusini lands from whence this young lion who inspired such mixed feelings in him came. As a cub, he'd been hurt by Azima's attitude toward him, but a little while after, while still carrying that grudge around with him, Azima had returned and appeared much kinder. Roho almost felt like he'd seen a different side of this young male, but he couldn't be sure. Until he could, he couldn't call Azima friend.

His eyes swung back to Azima once more. "Diversities? What kinds?" There were few here, sure enough, but the land had other merits that kept him, for the moment, glued to it. If he was to know about other lands right now, he would have to ask others about their travels, just as he was doing at this moment. "Prettier things, huh?" Azima's cheeky grin caused a small grin of his own; he didn' know it yet, but he was a sucker for that kind of thing. "Some of the scenery around here is pretty wonderful." Roho may be older and wiser than he was when Azima first met him, but in some areas he was still quite lovably dense.

Roho had to laugh a bit with good-natured self-deprecation; now that he was older, he knew quite well that calling Azima "reddy" and meaning it as a stinging insult was... well... laughable. "And you can call me Roho. My full name is too long to bother with."

"Roho." He muttered to himself, then nodded. Short and simple and apparently not his full name, but that was alright with Azima. "Hmm?" He looked around the lands slowly. "While your pride land is mostly flat and grass... the Kusini lands have lots of hills and near the boarders there are some beautiful woods. And a huge river runs through it on the other side of the boarders.." He shrugged lightly. "Just different scenery."

Azima smiled slowly and his tail tip flicked back and forth. "You mentioned your sister last time we met... do you have a big family?" Azima had a huge family, so he was pretty curious if it was common or not.

Roho nodded his head as he listened, his eyes slowly migrating in the vague direction of the Kusini lands, as though his sight could stretch that far and allow him to view the different land. "It sounds... different. Perhaps one day I'll take a look myself."

At the mention of his family, though, a grin split Roho's maw. "Yeah... a really big family. I have seven brothers and sisters that are my age, and my mum and dad had two litters before we came along. Most of them have moved on and started their own families elsewhere, so I haven't met all of them. There are... thirteen of us, I believe." He paused long enough to stretch a bit. "What about you? Do you have a big family like that?"

Relaxed in Azima's presence now, mostly, Roho was revealing that he could be quite talkative when he wasn't brushing someone off.

Azima's eyes widened slightly. He was happy with a family that large? He whistled slightly. "I have six siblings." He said slowly, and not so enthused about it. "But they branch off into a crazy.. giant family. I swear almost everyone in my pride is related." He rolled his eyes just slightly, he hated his family being so huge. It was odd to meet another lion who loved it.

"But yes. One older brother with his own family and five siblings my age.. we don't get along very well." Indeed it was rather rough when they were all together.

Roho nodded, both confused and amused with Azima's reaction. What was wrong with having such a big family? More love and affection to go around, as he saw it. "It's like that here. The pride is almost like one big family, just with lots of branches of the tree. Most of us are related somehow, I think."

He raised an eyebrow slightly. He couldn't imagine not getting on with any of his brothers or sisters. "Really? I'm sorry to hear that."

He shrugged his shoulders slightly, feeling slightly uncomfortable. Maybe he didn't really want to talk about his family problems... "Er... nothing to be sorry about, anyways." His tail flicked and his voice died, leaving the adolescent a little upset. He was terrible at carrying on conversations...

His eyes floated away from Roho and rested on a tree here or there for a moment each time. "Yes, I think our prides are similar than. With the family crap.." Apparently everyone were breeding fiends. Life wasn't all about growing and having a family of your own... was it?

His gaze moved back to the pridelander, and as he thought for a bit a vague, dreamy look started to overcome his facial features. Families..

Roho flicked an ear, shrugging his muscled shoulders slowly. Being raised in a loving, close-knit family, he couldn't really understand Azima's view on things. But he was no longer quite as harmlessly stupid as he had been as a cub; he easily recognised and accepted that they had obviously come from very different backgrounds, and that their opinions differed quite a bit. "I dunno... I like all the 'family crap' around here. But to each their own, I guess," he said with a grin.

But as Azima spaced out and got that oddly vacant expression, he lifted his eyebrows and leaned closer, as if the cause for the other male's dreamy look would be more apparent that way. "Are you ok...?"

Azima's ears twitched and he jumped when his eyes registered Roho closer to him. "What are you doing?" He said suddenly nervous, a guilty expression flooding his features. "Yes I'm fine I mean.." He coughed and turned away and sighed.

He needed a walk. Alone. Roho confused him and he definitely needed to do some thinking about it. Azima was shocked he'd just been thinking about a family with Roho. An actual family. With little cubs and everything... Which wasn't really possible because well.. Azima shook his head and grunted.

Yes he thought Roho was attractive but that was okay, right? He suddenly stood and started to head away. "I think I need a breath of fresh air.." He stated dully (Not to mention at all that they're sitting; surrounded by fresh air).

Ok... now he was confused. Not only was this another really odd reversal of thier... friendship was too sensitive a term for what they were, he thought. Not only was it another odd reversal of their... relationship, which had always, up until now, involved Azima approaching Roho - which had not happened this time - and Roho walking away, it was just downright odd in general. After all... they were outside. Outside was usually where the fresh air was. The air wouldn't be any cleaner a hundred paces away than it was where they were. Quite rightly, this confused the male.

"But... the air is fresh here...?" he said uncretainly, half making it a question. Some things Roho would probably always be dense about; his appeal was one of them, and he had not a clue it was having an affect on Roho and was causing the other male to need space.
