The little red lion grinned as he moved along the boarder of the pridelands, feeling a bit naughty. One, he should not be away from his homelands... and two, he did not really feel right coming to the pridelands. In fact he was going to avoid Roho the whole time he was here! Obviously he didn't come to the pridelands to see the stupid male! He was here to make... other friends. Better friends, in fact!
Well... maybe a glimpse of Roho wouldn't hurt!
Azima pushed the thoughts aside and slipped into the 'official' prideland grasses, a slight purr rumbling from his throat. He was in such a good mood today! It must have been from the beautiful blue sky, a light cloud dusting running through the blue, and the amazing temperature! The air was actually cool... well, compared to the blistering hot that it was on most days.
The sun was just beginning to sink towards the horizon, night would be upon the lands swiftly.

And swiftly, it was coming, indeed. Hantu was already beginning to miss the warmth of the sunlight - after all, she had spent this whole day bathing in it, and it had been extraordinarily enjoyable. Oh, gosh, she wanted to do it again - and she wanted the sun to stay forever - but, sadly, there was a time when things rose and needed to fall, and the sun was one of those things.
With a yawn, the cub neared Pride Rock, and prepared herself for sleep. Her parents would be waiting for her, as would her siblings... and the silver lioness had been due back home around an hour ago.
She'd be in trouble, really. Staying up this late.
The little lioness sulked, and then gave a great sigh. As a Pridelander Lady, she was expected to be back on time and follow instructions - but, as a cub, she wanted to stay up late. These conflicting feelings arose in her now...
Bed, or home? Home, or bed?
Ooooh, this was either going to be a long night or a short, boring sleep.

Even though you could see priderock from all angles and from just about everywhere in the prideland territory, including the outskirts of the land, Azima thought the best view was up close. He never understood why his father left this place, it hadn't gotten through his head that he lived in the Kusini lands right now only because of his mother. Sure the Kusini lands were beautiful and provided a lot of veriaty... but something about the pridelands pulled at the juvenile's heart just a bit more. Surely if the two Prides had a game of tug-o-war of the red male's heart the pridelands would win!
"Huh.." He breathed, eyes catching a silverish figure not too far ahead. Oh! This was his chance... his chance to prove he could be nice and make friends! Who needed Roho anyways? "Hello you!" He called ahead to the cub, and then he decided to look around for any adults. Nope, all clear!

Hantu's ear flicked as she heard the voice, and she hesitated.
"Uh... I was just getting off to slee-" she started blurting out an excuse, but soon paused as she cast a glance at the stranger. Silently, she sized up the red male in front of her - hrrrmm... he didn't have a strong scent of the Pridelands, and she'd never really seen him around before, although she knew that the Prideland Pride was large. But still... maybe he wasn't from around here! With a grin, she flickered her tail in amusement. This could prove interesting. "Hello there," she called back, and turned to face the stranger, "I haven't seen you before. Do you live here, too?"
She spoke as though she were the owner of the territory... full of gusto, and confidence. However, she knew it were silly to act so - this male was larger than her, after all. He looked a little older.
Sniffing in his scent, she tilted her head.
"Uh, who are you, exactly?"

His face fell momentarily. What's with everyone always giving me excuses to... But his thoughts died as she seemed to change her mind and his smile came about again.
She seemed very sure of herself, and Azima liked that. Was this pride really so big that he might still have the chance of living in these lands if she hadn't seen him? Odd.. "No, I'm from the Kusini'Mwezi lands." He said slowly, the name rolling off of his tounge smoothly. "And my name is Azima." He bowed slightly to the female, then he sat. "This is my father's birthplace." He said slowly, as if explaining.

"Kusaahneee Mwaaahhheeenzzee lands?" The name didn't quite roll so easily off hers, and she looked away, embarrassed, "Oh, well, I don't think I've heard of that pride before. But, gosh, I thought I hadn't seen your face! Whoah, it's nice to meet someone from somewhere else!"
Hantu grinned, and she puffed out her chest confidently and proudly.
"I'm Hantu. Daughter of Kitengele and Ashki, and from the Pridelands!"
The line was almost rehearsed, but the cub shook it off with a large smile. She'd found someone interesting... and it seemed like she wouldn't be going to bed early tonight!
Then, something caught her ear, and she paused, biting her lip thoughtfully.
"Your father's birthplace, huh, Azima?..." she mused, and then her eyes lit up, "Ah! So you'd have Pridelander blood running in your veins, that means. Well, that sure is pretty cool. So, how come you're in the Ku... Ku... Kusini'Mwezi lands, and not here?"
She was genuinely interested. Not only that, but this conversation was a good stall for bedtime.

He giggled at her odd pronounciation of it, he couldn't help himself, and then seemed to settle down. This was a very comfortable spot! "Lovely name, has a wonderful ring to it." He commented with a practiced smile.
"Mmm.. yeah." He nodded, thinking a little. Why did he live in the Kusini lands.. "I think it has something to do with my mum, seeing as those are her lands. Her family's lands, anyways." He didn't have the lightest idea of who this female's parents are, but they must have been rather pretty. He ultimately thought of reds as the prettiest pelt colors, but white was very beautiful too! No... more than white; silver. It was almost as though Hantu shined in the moonlight!

Hantu couldn't help herself. She once again cracked one of her rare smiles (or, rather, started grinning like an idiot) at her new 'friend'.
At his comment to her name, she flicked her tail with amusement and a hint of pride. She'd never really thought her name anything more than it was, a name, but she'd liked the context he'd put it in. A 'ring', huh?
"Thanks, I suppose it... uh... does. 'Hantu' ain't as catchy as 'Azima', though. I mean, Azima sounds like one of those bright, heroic characters from some kind of story. Hantu sounds kind of shady," she chuckled at this, "Imagine it. You, Azima the Hero, and... well, I'd be the villian with the crazy laugh. Or something."
Mid-conversation, Hantu had picked up a scent not so far away, and she flicked an ear as she heard a noise sound in the distance. The distant crackle of grass. The sweet scent of a not so large, but sick animal. She tensed, but tried not to stir too much. After all, it was near bedtime, and chasing prey was daytime work for the Pride Hunters. Still, she kept the thought in the back of her mind, and chose her next words carefully.
"So... how come you're here now, Azima? And, for how long? What was your father's name?"
She was generally interested. After all, maybe he wanted to stay here? She'd have no problem with that... she quite liked this Kusini character, and loved a good talk and play with a fellow youngster once in a while. But then again, it seemed like his words were one of a tourist. And, in general, Hantu loved hearing the name of parents. She'd love to know who's son Azima really was.
She was quite a nosey lioness, though she preffered to think of herself as 'curious'.
"And, say, that's interesting about your family heritage..." she stared, happily, at his fiery red coat, "I would've thought that, with a coat like that, you would have Firekin relations!"

(Don't worry about it at all, this rp is great so I don't mind waiting a little bit to reply heart and as you can see... oO; it took me a few days xd to even notice.)
He grinned back just as foolishly, oh she was great! He didn't usually receive so much praise, and with her lovely comments (that were all completely true in his mind) he was beginning to decide he wanted to make her his best friend! Though he knew it was too quick for such things to happen. But why shouldn't he want that? She was great! "A hero, really?" His eyebrows raised and he giggled slightly.
"Oh certainly not a goofy villain!" He replied, shaking his head with his eyes shut in a 'this just won't do' sort of manner. "No, no. Hantu has the sound of an exotic princess from far off lands in which the hero has to save!" He grinned brightly. Ohh this would make for fantastic play, wouldn't it? He thought it was turning into a rather charming story.
"In fact I wouldn't be surprised if a princess character named Hantu wasn't also an amazing hero herself!" He was watching the female cub fully so he picked up on the flickering ear, his own hear slightly twitching as he took a breath. He wondered what was bothering her?
"Anyways I am here because.. well.." He seemed to look a little shy, but only for a minute. "I'm here to make friends, of course~" His voice sounded a little strangled though and he gave a nervous laugh after words. It was no use though, even though he'd only known the girl for a few minutes he felt as if he shouldn't lie to her or hold back the truth.
"Actually I am also here to... er to see..." His face turned surprised. He didn't even know Baldy's name! It would only be on their next meeting that he truly learned Roho's identity. "Er well I am here to see Baldy." He laughed at this and grinned. "Though I don't think he'll be too pleased.." He said slowly and sighed." His tail flicked.
"My father's name? It's Uumikaji. And my mother is Syeira. Both sound like rather evil characters, eh?" He winked at her and grinned, though curiousness swept over his facial features. "What's a firekin?"

Hantu couldn't help but manage a grin. Hey, it wasn't everyday that a Pridelander came across such a lively lion from another pride, and Azima was lively, she'd give him that.
"An exotic princess?" she purred, grinning now from ear to ear, "I can just picture it. The hero could come and sneak into the cave, where the Princess Hantu was being held captive by the evil SLIPPERY SKULLTAIL. And then, you know, Slippery Skulltail's like, AHAHHAHA! YOU'LL DIE NOW, AZIIIIIMMAAAA! But the hero Azima, well, we all know what he'd do, he'd grab Slippery Skulltail by the tail an' BOOT HIM OUT THE DEN with a big..."
She paused, and blinked. What was she saying? Her fur was fluffing up with excitement, and the back of her neck was tingling. It was strange. After all, the little lioness believed herself to be a lady, and ladies surely didn't talk about super heroes and villians, and definetly not about booting other lions out of densites. But still, Azima's words caught her once more, and she was back in the story.
"You're right, Azima," she laughed, placing a forepaw to her chest, "I suppose Hantu would be a Princess. A warrior princess from a faraway land. Who'll fight for the people! With the help of the Great Azima, of course!"
She couldn't help it. A giggle escaped from her as she visualised the scene. Oh, by the Gods, this was fun. But then it was back to the serious, more adult chatter, and her ears flicked with interest as the Kusini bloke spoke.
"I'm here to make friends, of course! Actually I am also here to see Baldy."
"Friends? Mr Baldy?" she asked, "Well, I'd help you find Mr Baldy, but I haven't seen him around here. Does Mr Baldy have any distinguishing features, by any chance?"
She didn't know everyone in the Pride Lands. After all, there were so many lions in her pride, she couldn't possibly meet them all. She'd never heard of a 'Mr Baldy', which was strange. Such a figure who had such a degrading name should be well known among the pride members, though she didn't say this aloud. Instead, she assumed that this mysterious lion that Azima was looking for was just born with an unfortunate name, and his name was hushed in order to avoid any hurt feelings. Hantu did, however, know where Azima could find one thing that he'd been looking for.
"Well, I can find you a friend, Azima, for a start," she smiled, flicking her tail with amusement, "I believe you've just met one. Hantu of the Pridelands. Though I'm sure you already know that! Nice to meet you, again, Azima of the Kusini."
At this, she lifted a forepaw and gave him a brief salute, then dipped her head with a laugh. Ah, it was nice to meet a new face, and especially someone with such stories to tell. She'd never really imagined any tales before... usually she'd just concentrated on being good and lady-like, but this was way better. Well, for now, anyway, and until she got tired of it.
"What's a firekin?"
The question took her off-guard, and she paused for a moment, chewing her bottom lip thoughtfully.
"Hmm, a firekin, a firekin," she mused, and then snapped her claws, "Well, I do remember Mum telling me that Firekin, like you, have a coat of fire and ash. They're from the desert, I think. And that's all I know. I think they're pretty scary. My parents keep the stories pretty hush-hush from me."
She grinned.
"Maybe they're villians!" she announced, but her ear flicked once more as the scent of an animal drew closer and closer. Hrrrmm... maybe she should tell Azima about it. She really didn't want to bother him with news of approaching meat, but...
(( xD <33 Thanks, Leth. <3 >D And yeah, it's awesome, for shaaaw! Azima's adorable, and it's good to loosen up my little proper lady and show her some fun. xDD Sorry about the really long post, though. xD *bricked* ))

He laughed the whole time she told the make believe story. Not because it was particularly funny (well Skulltail certainly was) but because he was enjoying it very much and he was glad that all pridelanders weren't the same as Roho.
"We would certainly make wonderful heros!" He stated, completely sure of this fact.
"Er well he isn't really called baldy but.. uuhh well he doesn't have much of a mane." He was used to seeing rogue cubs and their early hair growth rather than the prideland cubs, whom had little hair on top of their heads. "He's golden colored with.. really dark red eyes.." He trailed off realizing what a pathetic description this was, he'd heard it was uncommon not to be golden color when you were part of the pridelands.
Which wasn't always true, case and point Hantu. "I'm glad!" He said as she stated she was his friend. His tail flicked and he purred slightly. Indeed it was really nice to have a friend.
"What's bothering you?" He finally asked as he glanced toward where she'd glanced. His senses weren't all that great and only just then did he start to smell something besides their two scents.

"Oh! I see..." she looked down, blushing a little at her mistake, "I just assumed that... well, his name was Mr Baldy. But then, I suppose that would be a weird name, huh? Well, I'll keep a look out for him for you, Azima."
She wasn't going to dig too much into the details. After all, she didn't like to pry. Instead, she had other things on her mind.
"What's bothering you?"
The opportunity to tell Azima about the other's prescence seemed to have finally arisen, and Hantu jumped at the chance.
"I don't know," she rose to her paws, and padded a few steps past Azima, looking through the long grasses ahead of her, "There's something out there. Something that's bothering me. Bothering me a lot."
She wrinkled up her nose, and backed away from the grass a little. Curiousity was nipping at her heels, a voice inside of her was begging for her to check it out, but... could she really stray from the den in the dark?
She shot Azima an agonized look. She couldn't make up her mind.
"It smells sick. A little bigger than us. Azima, I don't know if I should stay out here much longer. I..." she paused, trying to think of the right way to say it, "...I might be tempted to go out after it. It's eerie."

Azima's breath seemed to stop slightly, holding it in as he anticipated each next word from her mouth. Something out there... Yes; he'd just barely noticed it before he'd asked her about it. But he was still curious about the odd, sickly creature.
Ah! But Hantu wanted to go back home? A striking thought suddenly popped into Azima's mind. If Hantu went onto pride rock he'd be left all alone. Out here. With the sick, creepy thing! "W-well of course Princess Warrior Hantu would wanna check it out, wouldn't she?" His head tilted slightly and he tried to coax her into exploring it instead.
He was curious and it was much better being with someone else when you were curious but also slightly afraid.

Warrior Hantu?
Now, that was an interesting title, Hantu agreed. Azima's words had worked... for the cub was now swelling with pride - and, oh! That's right - she now remembered - she had Azima the Hero by her side!
"I suppose you're right, Azima," she agreed, nodding her head hesitantly, "We're heroes. We need to defend Pride Rock. We need to defend the Pridelands, and all those sleeping innocents out there!"
She now straightened, and tried her best to put on her 'determined' face.
"WE MUST TAKE THE ENEMY DOWN!"
Ah, this would just be like the games she and her siblings played! But even better... because she had Azima, and Azima, of course, was a hero. Finding new confidence within herself, Hantu slunk past the red lion, and beckoned him to follow her with a few flicks of her tail.
"It's through the grass," she whispered, parting the blades with a spare forepaw, "It's nearby, too. We should be able to stumble across it pretty much straight ah-"
...way...
Hantu froze. Only a few metres away, a large, shaggy-looking shadowed figure stood. It was breathing heavily, and making the strangest sounds - something in between a grunt and a whine - and it was coming straight towards them!
"Is that a wilderbeast?" Hantu's voice shook, and all her confidence seemed to drip away, "But... what's it doing so close to Pride Rock? And... what's wrong with it?"
It hadn't seen them yet, and Hantu didn't really wish to make her prescence known, in any case. The young cub willed her thumping heartbeat to become silent, but her heart would not obey. Daunted, she pressed closer to Azima's warm fur, and lowered her head, trying to melt in with her grassy surroundings.
"What's wrong with it?" she repeated in a whisper, shivering, "It's not acting right."
